We had 153 trick or treaters!! I ran out of candy in 1hour and 15 minutes!! That is scary!!! Shut off the light and shut the door..and they still rang the doorbell for another 15 minutes after that!

How many pounds of added fat for eating a pound of candy?
Does anyone need 4.5 pounds of Costco purchased fun-sized candy bars - dark chocolate Milky Ways included. And all the other branded candy bars.
Geezzzz . . . only gave out half a pound from the big bag. (If I ate the remainder, would I gain 4.5 pounds? Or more? Or less?) |
Geez Bill--- where were you last night when I was having to turn little kids away???? LOL!!!
|
We were down to 44 Trick or Treaters, from a high of I think 75 a few years ago.
Wow 143. Guess you didn't need to worry about closing the door to wait for the doorbell to ring between groups. |
Less, Bill. Maybe approximately 2.6 lbs if I go with the midnight milky way bar calorie count vs 3500 cal per pound... Omg, I just did candy math... :o:dizzy:
So glad that I can toss all my candy into the office candy jar and it just disappears into my coworkers within 3 to 8 business days. I had no trick or treaters :carrot:, ha! Maybe cause I just moved in 3 days before... Karen, I have to say you are looking rather lovely  Oh... Bill spotted me at the 20s somethings threads quicker than I could search y'all down to say Hello! I'm Baaaaaaaack! :D |
I am now vewy, vewy afwaid!

Me Too!!

Zan--- thanks for the compliment-- trying to grow my hair out for awhile.. I think I am over that "yucky" stage and will let it grow out more.
Hope everyone is having a good day! |
Once again this year, I’ve had requests for my Tequila Christmas
Cake recipe so here goes. Please keep in your files as I am beginning to get tired of typing this up every year! (Made mine this morning!!!!) 1 cup sugar, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 cup water, 1 tsp. salt , 1 cup brown sugar, Lemon juice, 4 large eggs, Nuts, 1 bottle tequila, 2 cups dried fruit. Sample a cup of tequila to check quality. Take a large bowl, check the tequila again to be sure it is of the highest quality then Repeat. Turn on the electric mixer. Beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of sugar. Beat again. At this point, it is best to make sure the tequila is still OK. Try another cup just in case. Turn off the mixerer thingy. Break 2 eegs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit. Pick the fruit up off the floor, wash it and put it in the bowl a piece at a time trying to count it. Mix on the turner. If the fried druit getas stuck in the beaterers, just pry it loose with a drewscriver Sample the tequila to test for tonsisticity. Next, sift 2 cups of salt, or something. Check the tequila. Now shift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Add a spoon of sugar, or somefink. Whatever you can find. Greash the oven. Turn the cake tin 360 degrees and try not to fall over. Don't forget to beat off the turner. Finally, throw the bowl through the window. Finish the tequila and wipe the counter with the cat..... : thanks |
Spreading a little visual feel-good...

Ah, Bill, I can never hide my geekage around here (not that I try very hard, and I probably flaunt what little geekage I got! :p)
Bargoo, I've been moving quite a bit (probably 3x since the last thread? yeah, three times, so for the time frame, that's pretty nutso). My job expired and I had to take a position a few counties west in order to stay employed, so that's a yay. It was a close thing too :dizzy:. I've been trying to settle in in a "deadspot" technology-wise, so I haven't been on much. It's quaint? :( Not something I wanted, but it doesn't hurt me to spend a year or so out here and try to get back to my old office (except my schooling is on hold because of the distance, so that's no fun). TMI? ;):D I like it, Karen. :D AND OH MY GOD, I AM SO GIVING THAT RECIPE TO MY PARENTS!!! |
What's the matter with you people?
|
425 . . .
. . . 75 to go.
Moved by the "visual feel-good" to have such positive thoughts about myself to realize that I don't have to keep reading all the reasons the election did and didn't go the way each person wanted. I can just stop reading all that stuff. [Note to self: Just ignore the man behind the curtain. Can't we all just get along.] |
Amazing how much repeat news we can watch in a day...after day...after day when you are pretty much glued to your recliner due to circumstances...
|
/is tempted to send EZ to project Gutenberg for free ebooks. The news is terrible. A little Franz Kafka or Sir Arthur Conan Doyle might be nice. :P
Hi all! Or one... This thread killer business has slowed down to a crawl. Might have to pull out Good Omens and read a bit to pass the time before I post again. |
Gary, glad to see you are posting here. I look at that as a good sign. Hope all is well.
|
Bargoo, you know I am blessed so that's good!
I did get a little extra sleep last night, this round of chemo took a bit more out of me yesterday, allowing me more energy to explore old threads..... And cause trouble...... |
Good Seeing you here Gary!! We miss you when you aren't here.. Things get s--l--o--w and we aren't good at keeping the thread moving at a good speed!! Glad that you are doing better.
|
I second Karen on that!
|
We need you , Gary, somebody has to rile us up and it is your job !!!
|
Goooooooooood afternoon!
Oh! And why do psychics have to ask you for your name?:?: I didn't lose my mind. I just sold it on eBay. |
Goodnight, all.
|
Good morning. Okay, I covered all the bases.;) next poster!!!
|
Does anybody have any Twinkies? The shelves are bare around here.
I have fond memories, but they haven't been on my eating plan for years. (Are grownups even allowed to eat them?) |

440 . . .

My DW is fond of Madelines - the same spongy cake but no filling. They are sooooooo good. they are not allowed in our house except for limited quantities on special occasions. |
