So do we get to know what this guy that was convicted did? Enquiring Minds wants to know....
He was charged with Assault With A Deadly Weapon, we could have found him guilty of Simple Assault but we thought hacking somebody with a meat cleaver was pretty darned deadly. These two guys have known each other since high school and are now 26.
I kind of hope the judge used the 3 strike rule...
There probably won't be a sentance for a couple of months. I asked the Asst DA (After it was over) how I could find what his sentance will be. She gave me her business card and said to call her office, and I will as I am curious to see if he judge will use 3 strikes., it is all up to the judge. I felt sort of sorry for his mother weeping in the audience but wondered what kind of upbringing he had. My mother told me, as I was growing up that if I lie, cheat,steal and choose a life of crime there will be consequences to pay.
I've only been able to handle a little "drive-by" posting on my forums lately. Too much homework. I will never, ever, EVER take this many summer classes again!!!
Well, I do, and it is not so good. This morning I am driving through an intersection on a green light when a car from the opposite direction turned left on a red light right in front of me. Of course I plowed right into her. Nobody hurt, but lots of damage to my car. In addition to running a red light, she has NO DRIVER's LICENSE !!! She does have insurance though.
Luckily for me I had a witness who told the police the same story that I did. I had the green light. The police officer told me his report will show that she is at fault. She also got a ticket for driving without a license. She will get a ticket for running a red light, too. That is several hundred dollars..and her insurance premium will soar. I don't understand how you get auto insurance when you have no license. My agent says he sees that all the time.
