China.... hum ... Did they do the olympics once?? I bet they didn't have many bottles of beer on the wall....
|
Or maybe we should take the
"Midnight Train To Georgia " if we are lucky Gladys Knight will be on board. |
If I slowly go out of my mind, does that count as a vacation? :?: What if I go on a guilt trip? Is that considered a sabbatical?

Reading this is better than ......... hum....... paying full price at the movies....
Train to Georgia or guilt trip - either one sounds .... hum..... I need a beer (ah martini) after that. |
If you are on a guilt trip you might be on....
"Runaway Train " |
I'll just get on that "Big 'ol Jet Airaliner" and let it carry me "to far away".

Well, GarBear, you'll be interested to know I'm gonna be reworking my mudding skills. Freakin' Kiddo put her fist through my wall. Then, she about got my fingers wrapped around her neck. I almost wished she would have hit the stud, but I can't afford Xrays right now.

OUCH Miss TNT!
I hope any "drama" has passed... my brother is about ready to strangle our 15 year old neice.... sexting issue! |
I'm sure my parents would have strangled me with no hesitation. I pity the poor person who is raising a teen aged girl. I was one and thank God daily that he only gave me sons.
|
Well, pity me. I have a 15 year old girl. She can be a handful! Right now the issue is that she is a freshman and she likes a senior boy. That's just too big of an age difference for me.
I am glad not to have 2 teenaged girls. My son is 13, and although he doesn't tell me as much as I would like, he seems to be so much less of a drama child. |

I'm really sick of being cold.
My fingernails are purple, we've got the heat on, and my boss thinks it's hot on his side of the office. C'mon Florida, what the heck is going on?!?! *really wants a USB blanket* :brr: I don't know how you guys/ladies up north can handle all this chilly weather... You’ve probably got better coats that must be it. ;) Ours seem like novelty items made to look warm but have poor insulation. :( |
WooWhoo! 1 and 1/2 hours before my weekend starts! :carrot:
And just what does that weekend entail? Muahahahahaha! Possibly a renaissance festival. I want to see sword and fire juggling acrobats! :D |
Hm. Ladies, can I toss out a question to ya?
Of course I ask that and then I just go right on and ask... What do you use on your hands in the winter months to keep them from drying and cracking up? Mine have been getting so bad that they sting when I put on some basic lotion or wash 'em. Dry skin usually isn't a problem 'cause of the humidity, but it's been so fricken dry down here for so long and cold f'er Florida. I could use something that actually works for a change. :D |
I like silicone glove by Avon...it makes like a coating on your hands...but I don't remember it being sticky. Right now I am using some stuff from a co-worker whose parents own a bee farm...so it has bee's wax in it and then another friend makes homemade lotion and shampoos and stuff...so I am not a big help am I? But the store bought stop I do use is silicone glove by Avon!

Hey, thanks Cathy and Ronni! I'll see if I can find one of those around here, if not, I'll resort to the 'Net.
Thanks again!:D |
I use Gold Bond Ultimate Healing with Aloe. BTW, here in UT I'm running around without a jacket it's so nice. :D

I slather olive oil on my hands and then put on surgical gloves for an hour or more and go on about my business. When I take them off, my hands are wonderfully soft and there is no oil residue because it's all been absorbed.

Well, those computers on running on the copper I was pulling out of the ground and powered by the coal my X is pulling out and being converted to power by a bunch of Joes at the power plant. Those guys have to get to work no matter what or it all shuts down. If they really can't make it, the dude's there have to stick it out till the other can can relieve them. I think my X has missed 3 days in 30 years at the most. I've never missed work although a couple of times it took me over 2 hrs. to make a 30 min. trip. And these punks have the nerve to put down the guys who keep it all running. On this forum, I just do it cause, well ****, it's fun to be mean. Nyah, nyah, nyah. :p |
Here's to the joe's who keep it all running
Quote:
That includes the guys in some 9 trucks who sawed up, chopped up, and ground out a monster tree in the next block that fell, taking out a power line and ripping the power lines right off the sides of some dozen houses. |

And, while I'm on a roll here, risking ticking off everyone on the East coast-another thing I'm really tired of is their whining about how bad the snow has made it over there. Ummmmmm, gee, sorry, but THAT'S WHAT WE PUT UP WITH EVERY YEAR FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS, SO GET OVER IT!!! OK, thanks, feeling much better now.....:D |
What burns my butt is all we hear about is how Americans must improve "productivity". Well, up at the mine, they decided to see if they could save money by shutting down the trucks for shift change. All us "oldies" told them that doing that would mess up the starters and turbos. Experience has taught us that a long time ago. But, what the heck to we know. So after experimenting for a year, wasting time getting mechanics to start trucks that wouldn't start back up, having production stopped b/c they'd go down at the fuel island, and replacing heaven knows how many starters and turbos, the little college geniuses came back to tell us that shutting down the trucks for that short a time was a really bad idea. :dz: Oh, and that our bonus checks would be smaller due to the half million dollars they blew on this experiment.
