Arrow Gluten/dairy free ideas for kids?

Hiya, newbie here!! My dd1 has what appears to be encoprisis. She was on a laxative, but that has now run out. For the last month or so, I've had my head firmly stuck in various health and nutrition books to try to help her. I've been reading about the IGg test and will bring that up when she has her next appointment with the pediatric consultant, but since gluten and dairy seem to be the biggest culprits, I'm going to try eliminating them first. What I need help with is some ideas for lunch and dinner. I know there are a lot of gluten free products on the market, but more often than not, they are rather expensive...also, I'd like to keep her meals as natural as possible...the less processed the better. Any help or advice is welcome and appreciated. TIA!

p.s. If this is in the wrong place, please forgive me, I'm still getting myself familiar with this site!!

For a sweet, Soy Delicious ice cream is good. SOy yogurt, without flavors or sugars can be good, you can mix in your own fruit or whatnot.

There are lots of ways to get around this......My DD is no Milk and DS's are no/very limited sugar, DN is no gluten. Family get togethers can be fun. If you need some ideas PM me.....

well, gluten is not an easy one... and I don't have much experience with it, but I have not had dairy in a very long time and I don't really miss it

Soy tastes a little different, but overall if you drink good soy it's not bad at all, If you try switching to soy, I'd suggest Silk, it costs a touch more, but it's worth it, and the chocolate milk by them is really good. You can use the plain for cooking where you'd use milk and can't tell the difference, in some recipes soy gives things an even better texture. There is even a soy coffee creamer!

Soy is really pretty good, but it does take some getting used to, and trust me, don't cheap out, or get the ones with strange asian writing on them if you have never had soy before.

Kids love fried ripe (yellow) plantains. You can also boil them. You can use this in place of off-limit starches as a side or pretty good part of a main dish.
