Default Marinades add calories...how significant?

I just got to wondering if marinading foods such as chicken & fish make them much higher in calories? I just put some chicken breast's in a marinade for a couple hours. I know some fish is very porous and wondered how many more calories you'd add to something if it is marinated in an olive oil based marinade? Obviously most of the oil drips off. I guess I just wondered if I need to adjust the calorie content? TIA!

Funny you should be thinking about marinades.... Just yesterday I spent a good amount of time looking for a low cal one at the store. What I found was a company that makes sauces and marinades called World Harbor. I tried it last night on a steak. It was a lean cut of chuck so it was a tougher (and cheaper) cut. It was wonderful!!! I only used 4 tablespoons of it and that was only 90 calories. I recommend going to the world harbors website as they have many different kinds available.

One way to measure is seeing how much marinade gets soaked up by the chicken (of course this may involve potentially messy before&after weighing of the marinade sauce).

If you're worried about calories though---don't use more oil than you're prepared to invest calorie-wise -- or dilute it with water or some other low-calorie liquids (e.g. lemon juice)
