Default Pot Roast recipe anyone?

Anyone have a pot roast recipe for the crock pot just a simple healthy version please thanks! - kim

Hi Kim,

Quick and simple, cut a large onion into several thick slices and lay them on the bottom of the crock pot with a few cloves of garlic as well. Season your roast with salt, pepper and whatever you like and set it on the onions and garlic. put a few slices of onion on top of the roast as well. Pour in a large tetra pack (1 liter here) of low sodium beef broth. Cook on low 5 hours and you will have a great pot roast. I like to steam my veggies so I do not put them in with the roast but you can throw all your veggies around the roast as well if you like it like that.

Also for regular oven roast I di the same thing with the onions and slow cook at 275 for 4-5 hours, this way you can cook an inexpensive cut and have it come out tender as prime rib.
