Default Low-calorie alternative to broccoli/green beans/etc

Recently my visiting Mom made a pot roast with potatoes and carrots (her specialty). It was delicious, of course, and it gave me an idea. The carrots were really yummy, so I had my wife put just some carrots into our crockpot, and she added some kind of onion-seasoning mix. She cooked it as if it were a roast, and when it was done I got some very tasty carrots from it. It's definitely going to be a regular low-cal alternative for me from my broccoli and roasted vegetables.

Gagalu- I might be mistaken, but I'm assuming he meant "something low-calorie other than the usual broccoli/green beans/etc".

Sounds yummy! I don't like plain carrots either, so I usually boil mine in French Onion soup first.
