how i beat labor day
so, today i hosted a barbeque. i wanted to keep it low fat without disappointing my guests.
i made a salad with fresh baby greens, sliced cherry tomato, 1 chopped avocado, almond slices, and light zesty italian dressing. i got TONS of compliments! no cheese, and loaded up with good fats. instead of potatoes i steamed asparagus. i chose a lean sirloin steak for myself (6 oz, about 350 cal) and seasoned it, it was fantastic. maybe not as good as the thick marbled cuts everyone else had, but i didnt feel like i was missing out. total calories? 600 not too shabby for a labor day bbq! |
