Default Hi my name is Theo and I am a Video Fanatic!

I have about 200 home exercise videos.

My favorites include the Firm, Joyce Vedral, Kathy Smith, Urban Rebounding, Mindy Mylrea, Cathe Freidrich and Body Bar.

I am just hopelessly addicted, I guess. But the fact remains that I get up every day (well, 5-6x a week) to exercise and I get it done.

I love videos as well! I don't have that many, maybe 30 -- I'm a starving college student so I only get to buy one every now and then. I'm somewhat new to videos -- only been using them since last September. Cathe Friedrich is becoming my favorite very quickly. I've seen a lot of her stuff on FitTV and just love it.

I perfer tapes around 30 minutes and hour or more and I am bored.

Anything by Cathe is good-some of her workouts require a step, weights, or a stretchie band though, so check the video to see what equipment you will need for that particular workout.
As far as belly dance-it depends on what you want. If you really want to learn belly dance-I can recommend videos for that-and if you want a dancy cardio workout that has belly dance music and influences-I can recommend one for that as well.

Hi Patricia,

I'm a video fanatic too! I just did a Mindy Mylrea workout this morning-her medicine ball training tape. The last one of hers I did before that was the weight section from Pump Party-very fun!!

Have you been to the website videofitness.com ? We're all video fatantics there! Come on over!

Take care,
Sherry

My name is Amy and I am addicted to workout videos.

I don't know how many I have, definitely not 200 but maybe 50. I have short easy ones, long hard ones, and everything in between. I have fun dancy videos and no-nonsense interval training videos.

I started with Kathy Smith and got into stepping. I have some Tae-bo but it's not my favorite. I have some WATP, a bunch of Crunch videos, Zumba, some Firm, and other random videos. And thanks to FitTV and Tivo, I taped some Cathe shows that were originally videos. They kick my butt!

I haven't worked out much lately because I'm pregnant! I'm about to enter the 2nd Trimester and I hear that's a good time to get back into exercise. I went through my collection a week ago and pulled out the easier videos in my collection so I can start over.

Tokyo Gal, you have some good ones to fit in a half hour. Check out videos at Wal-Mart and Target, especially for Crunch. They're usually fun and very cheap, and the ones I have tend to be between a half hour and 50 minutes. Ellen Barrett's Crunch Pilates DVDs are wonderful and really get you sweating in a short period of time (they are not strictly Pilates floor work, they incorporate quite a bit of cardio!). And there is a 10-Minute Workout Series that is pretty good. They have five 10-minute workouts on them, but I always do at least three of them in a row so I get in a half hour.

I would really appreciate it if you could suggest some easy, beginner ones from both groups. Thank you!

If you would like a beginner dance "workout" try:

~Bellydance Fitness For Beginners Basic Moves
~Bellydance Fitness For Beginners Slim Down

If you would like actual dance instruction (keep in mind that this focuses on proper form and proper execution of the movements-so donot expect to "get your heart rate up" or something like that):

~Bellydance Magical Motion (with Atea)
~Absolute Beginner Bellydance With Delilah
~Fat Chance Belly Dance Tribal Basics Volume 1
~Ruby Jazayre video series (you want the 3/4 part series-not her choreography video) available at www.rubyjazayre.com or www.dahlal.com

Keep in mind that "real" belly dance videos are more expensive than mainstream videos meant for "exercise".
