I want to buy a couple workouts and using collagevideo.com i have found a few that look like they would be good and easy enough for me to do without giving up or hurting myself. I would like comments or opinions on them from anyone who has used them before i buy them though please!
Crunch: burn and firm pilates
Denise Austin: Shrink your female fat zones
Crunch: fat burning pilates
Carmen Electra Aerobic Striptease workout 1
Core Secrets
Quick Fix Stability Ball workout
Fat to firm fitness ball for dummies
Hi Trixie,
I just bought the Quick fix stability ball workout and so far I like it has 3 parts abs, legs and arms (with weights) each part is 10 minutes that is what I like I can do only one part or all of it. It is a good work out at first the teachers Australian accent caught me off guard but I really like the workout and she is a good teacher. Enjoy!
sorry dont have the others but I hear that the Carmen Electra work out 2 is better.
The Denise Austin Shrink Your Female Fat Zones workout is great for beginner to intermediate exercisers. It is one workout, but in two parts. (But do them the same day!) It is a total body workout with traditional strength training with hand weights for the first half, and using the stability ball for the second half.
For more advanced exercisers, I would recommend Denise's Personal Training System dvd though. It is a little more advanced, and is chaptered-the body part sections for the strength training, the stretch segment, and the cardio segment can be done separately.
I personally don't car for Carmen Electra videos at all...but then again, I don't LIKE her...I have to like the instructor to enjoy the video.
FYI, if you have trouble with the ball, I think you can get a "bagel" to help stabilize it until you get used to it...(kind of looks like an embroidery hoop)
I JUST bought the Fat to Firm Fitness Ball for Dummies DVD. I watched the opening of it last night, but I haven't done the workout yet. From what I've seen, it looks like good basic exercises. I'll post again and let you know after I actually DO the video
BTW, has anyone tried the Gilad 45/45 split routine DVD? I used to love his Bodies in Motion show when it was on regular TV years ago, but I'm not sure which DVD of his I want to buy.
HI,
I have Shrink your female fat zones, but don't use it. I've watched it a few times but can't really get into. I really like doing Tae bo. It really makes you sweat, and burns lots of calories, about 340 in 30 minutes at my weight. I am also intrested in doing a pilates on the ball workout, I forget the name of it but I saw it on the collage video website. Good luck and hope you find something that works for you.
Jen
The Shrink Your Female Fat Zones is a strength training workout. Strength training shapes your body, and increases your muscle mass, so that your body burns more calories throughout the entire day.
Tae Bo is considered a cardio workout-which of course burns lots of calories.
I think that both kinds of workouts are essential, because they do different things for the body. Cardio burns a lot of calories, and helps you lose weight because of that, but strength training shapes the muscles, and gives you the shapely legs, lean arms, and firm abs. A good workout regime will include both kinds of workouts.
I personally prefer walking workouts (like Walk Away The Pounds), outdoor walking/jogging, biking, and so forth for cardio. I tried Tae Bo twice and I just absolutely hated it.
Well I bought the Crunch burn and firm pilates, and I just watched some of it today b/c I dont have time to do it before my stepdad gets home, but it looks really low impact and easy to do, which is what I needed, and it looks fun. The instructor is pretty (I think lol) and I like her body so that will keep me motivated lol I will keep thinking 'I will have a body like hers' lol And I borrowed the extreme makeover dvd from the library and Im going to try it out this week and if I like it then I will buy it!
I have several of the workouts you mentioned. Let's see...
Crunch: Burn and Firm Pilates is probably my favorite traditional aerobic workout. It's not hard on my knees, but it does make me sweat. The instructor is easy to follow so I don't feel like I'm completely lost at any point.
I also have the Crunch: Fat Burning Pilates. It's also good, but I don't do it as often because I didn't have the correct size hand weights when I first bought it. I know, stupid reason, but by the time I bought the weights, I found other workouts I preferred Seriously though, it is a good workout and has the same good points as the Burn and Firm video.
Carmen Electra Aerobic Striptease workout 1 is fun for a change of pace, but it really isn't a workout at all. On the other hand, when your honey watches you workout, you will end up having extra exercise afterward
I don't have Core Secrets, but my friend does, and she loves it. She has been doing it regularly for about a month without getting bored with it.
I have Quick Fix Stability Ball workout and the Karen Voigt Stability Ball workout. (I think it's called BLT, but I'm too lazy to go look ) It seems like I preferred the Karen Voigt one, but to be honest, I didn't stick with the stability ball workouts for very long. Most people I know of start out loving them, but they end up not using them at all after a couple of months.
Just in case anyone is still interested, I have the Carmen Electra #2 DVD, let me tell you it is tough, no stripping, no dancing, just cardio and toning exercizes. In the video she states that this one is to help you tone up to make you more confident to strip, my abs and thighs are looking much better.
I also love Crunch Burn and Firm Pilates! It really gets you sweating but is low impact. I have another Crunch Pilates video that I like but I'm not sure if it's Fat Burning Pilates. If it's the same instructor as Burn and Firm (Ellen Barrett) it's pretty good!
I have the Shrink Your Female Fat Zones. I like it. Right now, I've been doing it everyday, but doing it in 2 parts. Its advertised as to 20 min workouts in one DVD. I do one 20 min on one day, and then do the second half on the next day, and just keep alternating it back and forth.
Its definitely working. My boyfriend can really see a difference, and I'm starting to too. I'm almost to the point where I can do both sections at one time. Another reason I like doing it in half, is because then I'd have to get up an extra 20 mins to do both workouts... and lol I'm also not to that point either.
Its easy to follow, and while some of the things I find really hard, once you start doing it, it gets easier. I really like her too.
I'm thinking about buying the Carmen Electra work out videos, but haven't made up my mind yet. I've been checking them out on Ebay, and figure if I can get it cheap, its not such a huge deal if I don't like it.
