Default Insanity - Shaun T

I'm starting Insanity today! (I did have this posted in excersis, but figured fitness videos was a better place for it!)

I did the fit test of friday, but I'm going to do it again today since Friday was more so trying it out. Start off with a good start so does anyone else have Insanity? anyone else willing to join me on this journey!?

This week's workout looks like this!

Monday- Fit Test
Tuesday- Plyometric Cardio Circuit
Wednesday- Cardio Power and Resistance
Thursday- Cardio Recovery
Friday- Pure Cardio
Saturday- Plyometric Cardio Circuit
Sunday- Rest

Looking for all the people who care to join and support each other through this 60 day journey!

I'm finishing Insanity Asylum today. I will join ya although I'm considering a hybrid of Insanity & P90X+.

Sweet, and go for it! I'm not a fan of P90X at all but combining the two is a great idea!

Yay someone else to join! I did the fitness test on friday (last week) but decided to start like the calender does on a monday and re did the fit test and now I'm on day 4! Good luck! It's tough but it's soo worth it, and you know what each day is a challenge and by the time the second set of the same video you did the first week comes around again it makes you want to do everything you didn't do before.

I did my fit test about 30 minutes ago - and I think I just got a better work out doing the *fit test* than I have on the treadmill in 2 months!! I'm really excited about this!!

Yep these video's give me a way better workout then the gym does on any machine! I found cardio recovery is boring, but when doing this type of workout you gotta do that video because it stretches you out good! I'm on Day 5 today! I'm stoked!

Talking YAY Insanity!

Hi All!
I recently started Insanity and it's AMAZING! I love it, and I am going into day 14, REST DAY. This is my favorite day . The first week my calves and legs were KILLING me lol but now I don't really get sore, just fatigued. There is hope after the first week! I have seen some results already from the scale, I lost about 5 pounds in the first two weeks. I have been following the elite meal plan (not to a T I modify with food I have but keep to the calories and 5 time a day eating). A great tool for calorie counting is My Daily Plate on livestrong.com. You can input almost ANY food (and I'm talking Orowheat Healthfull 10 grain bread comes up) and it gives all the nutrition value for it. It does a break down of all your calories for the day based on your fitness level, amount you want to lose, height, age, weight, etc. It's GREAT to use with Insanity so I can keep track of the calories. Great job everyone keep up the hard work! Does anyone know if it is okay to run while doing this program? I am a high school soccer coach and I am starting running with the cross country team this Monday. Thanks and you are all an inspiration for me to keep going!

Munster,

I'm on day 5 which I will try and complete tomorrow (because my TOM cramps were acting up I couldn't finish) but as for running, I'm also doing C25K training three days a week I don't see anything wrong with it. The workouts are only about 40 minutes so I say do it up! oh Day 14 which means tomorrow's second fitness test is up! Keep us posted on the difference you made from the first day fitness test!

Thanks MiZTaCCen! I think you are right about being able to run. Cross Country only runs Monday-Thursday so it's not every day. I can go at my own pace too and do only as much as I want since I am technically a coach and not a "runner" lol! I will definitely post my fit test results/difference tomorrow...hope that it goes better than the first one! Here are the results from my first test:

Switch Kicks: 54
Power Jacks: 50
Power Knees: 71
Power Jumps: 31
Globe Jumps: 8
Suicide Jumps: 13
Push Up Jacks: 18
Low Plank Oblique: 51

Hoping for some good improvement tomorrow! Thanks for the encouragement, it really helps!

Default Second Fit Test!

So today was fit test2 and I was really scared because I started running with cross country today. At 6am I started running and I RAN 4 MILES before doing the fit test. Usually the 4 miles wouldn't be bad (I ran a half marathon when I was 2 months pregnant and I like to run) but oh man was I hurting for the fit test! It was super hard and I couldntbdo nearlybasvwell without running. So combining country with insanity is going to be INSANE! Hoping I get ripped quick! Here are my fit test 1/2 results:

Switch kicks: 54/63
Power jacks: 50/55 (legs are soooooo dead!)
Power knees: 71/90 (yay!!!!)
Power jumps: 31/32 (I swear my legs would NOT move for these better next time!)
Globe jumps: 8/11 (woohoo!)
Suicide jumps: 13/20
Push up jacks: 18/23
Low plank oblique: 63

So improvement yay! I'm hoping that I will lose weight faster with the running added but man am I'm tired right now lol! How are you all? Have a greatMonday everyone!

I'm getting so much better at it, I hope my day 15 fitness test is monday which I'm excited about but at the same time I'm not. Today is Cardio Recovery, which I find boring...but gotta do it I guess. haha.
