10 Minute Solutions?
Ok... so... I'm just wondering what y'all's thoughts on this series is...
I have used the 10 Minute Solutions: Pilates before with my mom... and I prefer it to every other video I've tried... mainly because it's not an entire 30 minute routine that is the exact same every time you do it... but 5 different 10 minute routines that you can mix and match. Yeah... it does get repetitive... but definately not as fast. I'm thinking of trying to get most of the DVDs in the series... since I'm the kind of person that gets bored with stuff fast... and I like to mix stuff up... but... I'm wanting to know what y'all think of them. The dance mixes are the ones I'm looking at getting most of all... So... thoughts? ETA: For anyone who suggests just joining a gym and working out there... it's not really an option for me. For several reasons: 1. I'm underage. I'm under 18... and won't be 18 until December... and you have to be 18 to join. And it's the ONLY gym in town. 2. I have more motivation to do stuff at home than I do to get in the car and drive 15 minutes to the gym (the closest, the rest are 30-40 minutes away). 3. I can't stand listening to people tell me how to work out. Yeah... if they tell me "no... you need to hold it this way, otherwise you'll hurt yourself"... sure... that's fine. But every other gym I've been at has had someone following me (even when I asked them not to... but I'm not supposed to use the equipment "unsupervised") telling me to use "this one" for five minutes and then "that one" for this number of minutes... etc. And I have to be the one to control what I'm doing... otherwise my first instinct is to not do it... and when it comes to exercise... which I need... I'd rather not have to work even harder to try and overcome my instincts. ;) I am planning on using the gym in college (next year) daily though... it has a rock climbing wall... which I hope to use all the time... I love rock climbing... :D |
I would never suggest a a gym. During my whole journey, my workouts have been done at home with good results :D
About the series, I have never even heard of them but I am gonna check them out :D I know I had nothing to offer here really, sorry :o  |
I've tried several of the 10 Minute Solutions series. Some I've loved, others I've been indifferent about (mainly because of instructor preference).
I haven't tried any of the dance-y ones, but I love, love, love Jessica Smith's Knockout Body (kickboxing) and Ultimate Bootcamp. GREAT workouts and the prices on this series are very reasonable IMO. Good luck! |
Thanks. :) I'm hoping to be able to trade for a couple on swaptree... as well as buy a couple on amazon. I don't think my mom is willing to part with her pilates one. :p (since it's hers... not mine... and we live on literally seperate ends of the globe)
Here are a few I was thinking about (amazon links): http://www.amazon.com/10-Minute-Solu...9910370&sr=8-8 http://www.amazon.com/10-Minute-Solu...9910554&sr=8-9 http://www.amazon.com/10-Minute-Solu...910554&sr=8-14 http://www.amazon.com/Minute-Solutio...910596&sr=8-18 (I like yoga... but my DVD is 45 minutes long... WAY too long for my mind... :p ) http://www.amazon.com/10-Minute-Solu...910596&sr=8-22 http://www.amazon.com/Minute-Solutio...910596&sr=8-27 And maybe a couple of the others... but these were the ones that caught my eye... |
Hi Sebrider, I have tried a few of the 10 Minute Solution workouts. I do like some. Here are some links to video clips of the 10 Minute Solution workouts.

Sebrider,
Do you have a Netflix account? I also would like to get some of the DVD's, but Netflix has some that are available for instant streaming, a good way to try them. :) have a great weekend |
I don't have a netflix account... and just don't watch enough movies (or even workout videos) for me to warrant getting one. :p Plus... instant streaming won't work too well for me, since where I'll be living next year, we have only 200MB of internet download a day. >.< But it is a great idea... thanks. :D
So yeah... thanks for those links Diana!! Thanks guys!! |
Sebrider,
Hi, I'm back again :) I was browsing, and I found out that deep discount dvs has a great sale. I ordered one 10 min solution video, with free shipping. Better prices than Amazon, and believe me I do love Amazon. http://www.deepdiscount.com/index.cf...e+solution&N=0 Here is the link |
Not sure its the same one but I think so based on the title. But I had some 10 minute solution vidoes that came on cable on demand years ago. There was a kickboxing one that was great. It would kick your butt but it was so worth it and quick. I like them because anybody can fit in 10 minutes and it really helps build up a daily routine of exercise you can build on.
I've lived far from gyms before. Your options are videos or taking it to the streets with rollerblades, bikes and walk/jogging. Just want to add good for you taking charge while you are young. I started to in my senior year with a gym membership(it wasn't that close but I managed) and then moved and had no close by gyms. Believe me I wish I had taken the weight off then and got the healthy eating habits in. I ate vegetarian then but not always the healthiest. On the subject of streaming check youtube too!! I found yoga on there in 10 minutes solutions. So maybe you can find some that way for free. ;) |
Thanks so much guys! Thanks for the link... I might order some from there. I just love my mom's ten minute solutions dvd because it's 5 different 10 minute segments... so it's very easy to mix it up and have up to a 50 minute exercise period... but it's not like a lot of other exercise dvds where it's the exact same every time. So yeah. :D
Thanks! |
I know this isn't the same but thought I would toss it out there anyway
Exercise TV has some free workouts on their site and some are 10 minutes (and even less) - http://www.exercisetv.tv/ |
The biggest problem with streaming is that... while I can do it here while I'm in Serbia (and will), I won't be able to do it when I get back to the US... because my Grandma has only 200 mb of download (or streaming, whatever) that you can use a day... and streaming ANYTHING uses up a TON of that. So I'll most likely still buy some DVDs... but thanks so much for that link!! I'll definately use some of those while I'm still here in Serbia. :D

Serbrider I'm not sure if you have TJ Maxx, Marshall's, or Ross where you live, but they tend to carry workout DVD's for under $4. They don't always have alot, but you can get some deals if your browse every couple weeks or so. Also Mary at Total Fitness has sales. Check those out, too. It looks like right now the focus is on Pilates. http://www.totalfitnessdvds.com/cate...how=100&page=1 But again, the good thing is that you can watch a video clip before you buy.

Thanks Diana! I'll definately take a look whenever I'm in Houston or Dallas. There really is nothing like that in our small little town in the middle of nowhere... but I have family in both Houston and Dallas... so shouldn't be too hard to find something while I'm there. :D
