Thanks Susan for your pep rally to the girls. I haven't posted pics yet - I'm actually still looking for a good pre-picture. I seemed to hide well in the photos that I have. My sister or grandmother might have a better full shot since they are the ones you usually don't get to hide fast enough from .

Your words brought back home to me to enjoy where I am right now, even though I'm not at "goal". I really still have some firming up to do, but I'm feeling so much better right now.

Wide in Winnipeg 10-10-2006 09:41 PM

Hi everyone! I really miss you all here! I got carried away with trying to get the girls on "Beat The Bulge" motivated that I tend to forget about everyone else, including myself sometimes!:o
I finally corrected my ticker, I started this diet out at :o 138lbs :o and have no idea what I'm sitting at right now, I just don't feel any different except that the thought of garbage food is a real turn off for me, I have such weird cravings for red peppers its crazy, must be loosing my mind instead of weight! LOL! Boy, I could really go for a nice light salad right now, guess I'm a little hungry, nothing some water won't fix!
Starting to get nervous about the oral surgery on Friday, I hate anything that might involve pain and discomfort.Oh and needles, I hate needles! This coming from a girl who sports 4 tattoos! LOL!
Time to get RJ into the bath and all stinkin' good, chat later!

Jazzbird 10-10-2006 11:55 PM

Wide, your bones are showing. Maybe you should stop dieting and start eating... :D

srmb60 10-10-2006 11:55 PM

I'm going to grumble for a minute here. All the years I needed full time work and couldn't get it ... all the times one more shift would have stopped some payment from bouncing ....
But now ... now that we've downsized and gotten our act together ... now that I've got a cute little house to putter around in ... NOW ... I can't get a day off! I actually marked myself not available for five days this week. They called anyway ... twice ... the second time, I gave in.
I don't get it. It's not right. It's not fair. Wah wah wah ....
If I have to be there five days a week, I'd like my 8 weeks paid holidays and benefits please.
There, I'm done now and I feel much better.

Wide in Winnipeg 10-11-2006 12:19 AM

:D The funny thing is that I think I'm actually eating more! I eat more because I like the fresh fruit and veggies, has to be fresh though!
I wonder if I'm loosing?? maybe a sneak peek on the scale...

2frustrated 10-11-2006 04:13 AM

Susan - with all the downsizing and the lots of work, you will have plenty of money to spend on CLOTHES and DIAMONDS  :D ;)

WiW - I agree with Jazz, you're all bones gal

Just a few days till my half marathon :yikes: must chill out and drink lots!

softballmom 10-11-2006 08:12 AM

Good luck on your half marathon, 2Frus. I have a 5k this Saturday near my mom's house, so we are adding family time in there.

Susan, I would be totally upset too. It seems they want you to work extra for them, but don't treat you fair regarding the other benefits of FT employment. Maybe speak up? Sometimes the noisy wheel does get the oil, or it just falls off ;)

WiW, I kinda like your bones girlfriend.

Allison, My dh and I will be celebrating our 19th anniv in about a month. We dated 5yrs prior, so he's been with me a lifetime! My siblings treat him like a brother, so I could never divorce him - I would get excommunicated.

My official weigh in looked good today, actually surprised the cr@p out of me! Looks like I've lost a couple of pounds that I've been battling with for so long. My weigh in was at 119.75, but I'm not ready to move my ticker. The last time I moved it to 121 (6-7 weeks ago), I ended up fluctuating between the 121 and going up as high as 125. So I think I will give it one more week to see if this new weight sticks. It's true: if you keep doing what's right, eventually your body will congratulate you.

alinnell 10-11-2006 11:41 AM

Susan, I understand your frustration! I think it happens to a lot of us. My DH and I talk all the time about "back when we were poor." I remember going to work and being asked to buck up for a gift for the boss and my wallet contained less than the requested $1...Living paycheck to paycheck....charging groceries because we had to eat....making only the minimum pmt on the credit card bills--several months in a row....It's all changed now--none of that is true today. But if I want a vacation with DH? Out of the question. We own our own business and going out of town for more than a long weekend is next to impossible. We're going to have to find a remedy for this. I'd like to go on a vacation before we have to start paying for college tuition for DD (and eventually DS). In fact, I'd like to take the whole family on either a cruise or a week or so at an all-inclusive resort in Mexico. Doesn't that sound like a fine way to spend Christmas break?

All you runners--GO! As in way to go!! I can't run to save my butt!! (Bad knees from a youth full of downhill skiing.) I do walk, though, and love getting out to do that.

Have a great day everyone!

srmb60 10-11-2006 02:38 PM

I stayed out shopping this morning until it was too late. They found someone to work tomorrow and Friday. Tee Hee!
Diamonds? Clothes I can go for!
I am formulating a letter to my manager type lady. She really needs to rethink how we're staffed.

3fcuser1058250 10-11-2006 05:56 PM

Susan, I also am on-call of sorts and when I don't want to work, I don't answer the phone, I let the machine take it... Then when I do call back, MUCH MUCH later, it's too late to work  ... Don't tell my secret to a soul ;) ...

Today food and exercise has been good... I was down 4 of the 6 lbs of hopefully water that I gain on the weekend... I'll see for sure tomorrow ... I have no intention of screwing up my food today...

Wide in Winnipeg 10-11-2006 07:16 PM

Hi all, I'm feeling bloated today, guess it's TOM soon. I checked the scale today, not impressed but it could be water weight:shrug:
I'm bored today too, just really bored, and tired, oh so tired.
K thats enough......
Have a great evening all!

softballmom 10-12-2006 09:03 AM

WiW - stay out of the kitchen then. When I'm tired or bored I find myself rambling around the cupboards and fridge. Better just to STAY OUT!! (Esp with TOM raging your hormones) Go take a brisk walk, or find a good book, or a nice bubble bath with soft music and candles. Oops, I just realized you were having these symptoms last night. Well, just in case it lingers in to today ;)

Robsia 10-12-2006 09:11 AM

I chew chewing gum when I'm feeling peckish - it's not the same but it gives me something to do with my mouth.

Wide in Winnipeg 10-12-2006 01:06 PM

So last night I had a hard boiled egg white and a tiny juice glass of diet gingerale. The Diet gingerale was a nono but I just wanted something cold and bubbely, with my sore throat I tend to crave the gingerale.
Nothing interesting going on here today, just some laundry and cleaning because I don't think I'm going to want to be bothered over the weekend.

srmb60 10-14-2006 06:17 AM

Morning Featherweights!
I'm off to work this morning with my goodie bag all packed. I'm pretty sure the scale moved just a little this week. Another couple of pounds would make me feel more like a feather :)
Any plans for the weekend? My baby is 20 tomorrow! I had to get his laptop fixed. Happy birthday, college boy :)

Wide in Winnipeg 10-14-2006 04:10 PM

Happy Birthday SusanB's boy!!:D
Well, I'm glad to say I'm doing really well after my surgery! I'm down 3 teeth but I'm feeling good!No swelling either! The only thing that sucks is that I'm so hungry and I really want some rice but I think it will get stuck in the holes! LOL! Silly silly me!
I'm sure the scale went down some but weigh in day is not till Monday so I'll have to wait and see!
Have a good day all!

srmb60 10-15-2006 09:47 AM

Argh! I feel like such a goof today! I wasn't buying diamonds or clothing ... I want a freezer. So off we went to Home Depot armed with a printout that says my new card is in the mail. We went through the whole process of choosing my new freezer, arranging delivery and so on ... I went to special purchases with all my papers and my drivers licence for picture ID ... my expired drivers licence!
So ... no new freezer. Guess what I'm doing first thing Monday morning?

Wide in Winnipeg 10-15-2006 04:25 PM

oh SusanB that sucks! LOL! Yep, better get that licence renewed!
Weigh in tomorrow, I'll fill you all in then!

3fcuser1058250 10-15-2006 07:37 PM

Susan -- Silly girl, you'Ve been so busy moving that you forgot to revew your licence  poor thang!!

Things are ok here, I didn't feel very ambitious today although I did get out for a run and I am eating clean...

Wide in Winnipeg 10-17-2006 12:11 AM

Hi! Just popping in real quick as it's past my bed time already! Though I'd let you know the results on the FSD I've been doing. I lost 5lbs and 2.5 inches so far! Yahoo!I'm off that plateau! Just have to keep it up now and loose the rest in good time!
Chat tomorrow after school!

2frustrated 10-17-2006 06:15 AM

Hello!

I did my half-marathon, 2:38 so not too bad at all. :D AND I ran all the way!

I've just got less than three weeks to go till the wedding, so eating is going to be scrupulously clean  Oh. Apart from our day in Lille next Saturday. And the Hen Day. :chin:

srmb60 10-17-2006 08:25 AM

Congratulations Jen! You ran the whole way? WOW! Good work!

I found my weights and I've taken over the college boys room:)

2frustrated 10-17-2006 08:30 AM

I ran the WHOLE way.

softballmom 10-17-2006 09:16 AM

Congrats Frus! Thirteen miles is a great achievement!! :bravo:

Well, it looks like my plateau is over. I should be able to adjust my ticker by Wednesday (official weigh in). And it looks like I will meet my original goal by its original date after all :spin:

Jazzbird 10-18-2006 01:19 AM

Wooeee 2f! That's a ginormous accomplishment! :congrat:

softballmom 10-18-2006 10:38 AM

Well, I did get to adjust my ticker by one pound. I had come in below 120 yesterday, but seems it may have been a fluke. I'll take the one pound, though!

I haven't got my normal exercise in this week, so really need to focus on getting that back in - my schedule flopped and it has messed with my exercise times.

Wide in Winnipeg 10-18-2006 03:22 PM

Hi! I'm taking my first step back into exercise today, I've been sluffin' off because of the stitches in my mouth but I'm doing well! I hope to be 130lbs by Halloween!

srmb60 10-19-2006 06:13 AM

Good morning dears. I'm off to work this morning and then I have a chiropractors appt. I'm anxious to see what he says about my shoulders since I've done some upper body weight stuff.

Den@ 10-19-2006 11:10 AM

Hi Featherweights!
I've been posting on the Weekly Goal Challenge, and this has helped me tremendously. October has been a great month for me. Although I am a slow loser, I lost 2 lbs. this month. :D

2f, congrats on the marathon! :carrot:

Softballmom, congrats on your weightloss!:cheer:

Have a great day, everybody!
Dena

2frustrated 10-19-2006 11:14 AM

Hello! I'm taking stock of this week and can safely say that my eating has been dreadful! Why? I'm exhausted! I could probably do with going home and going to bed, however the post-pregnant girl is back at kickboxing training and I WILL NOT LET HER BE BETTER THAN ME!!!!!!

I was planning on the gym tomorrow afternoon after work, but I'm thinking I really NEED a nap. We are off to Lille for the day on Saturday, another tiring day (I really don't like travelling) but we get to shop and sit in cafes and things so it can't be bad!

Sunday is a bit more wedding planning and baking those gingerbread men!

srmb60 10-19-2006 02:01 PM

The chiropractor saw no other, than ordinary, wear and tear between my shoulders so I'm pretty happy. Maybe with a bit o'lifting ... there'll be even less than that next time.

chicky4 10-20-2006 02:16 AM

Hey i haven't stepped on the scale in about 2 weeks...all my pants are getting baggy on me though...im not sure if this is a good thing. I haven't drastically changed anything about my lifestyle (other than having more stess) but i've still been eating the same diet and actually decreasing my exerciseing. I don't think it's muscle mass becuase I was only doing light swimming and walking, not weight training (plus that would be a very short time to lose muscle). I'm afraid if I up my calories I will be back at square one. Help...im afraid the scale won't move, and my clothes are getting to big, but I don't know why...im almost ready to start maintaing but unsure about how to do this reasonably and without adding inches/pounds.

srmb60 10-20-2006 07:38 AM

Hi Jenna, I think you're just fine. Somewhere on 3FC, I've read just recently how it can take a year for your body to reshape itself. Things settle so to speak. There's never anything wrong with getting smaller without actual weight loss. That's the point, after all, isn't it?

Wide in Winnipeg 10-20-2006 03:53 PM

Howdy! I lost 2 more lbs! Official weigh in day is on Monday and I'm determined to stay off the scale till then, going to be tough though! LOL!
I have offically lost 50 lbs! Wahoo!!
Now I have to consider the task of maintaining, thats going to be a struggle in itself when it comes time!
Have a great day!

alinnell 10-20-2006 04:28 PM

Wide--what are your stiches from? Did I miss something?

Frus--you NEED to sleep. It's all over the news lately, those that don't get enough sleep are the ones who are more likely to gain weight and be obese. You don't need that before your wedding! So, sleep in tomorrow or take a nap some afternoon. Your body will thank you.

chicky--over in the maintainers area there is a lot of discussion about body changes after the weight has come off. A lot of them say they are starting to get "curvy" again and clothes that are fitting differently. Head on over there and check it out. I lurked there for a few weeks and finally posted a few times there, although I don't consider myself a maintainer just yet.

Den@--way to go with the loss! I'm hoping for 1 pound this month--it's been extra slow! I lost 4 in September and then within a few days of October starting, I gained 2! They're off now, and I'm down .5 for October.

Susan--glad to hear there isn't too much wrong with your shoulders. Joint pain is bad. I've got it in my knees from years of abuse on the ski slopes when I was younger.

softballmom--go ahead and move that ticker!!! I always move mine when it goes down, but refuse to move it if it goes up. I just don't count it as a loss when I am "relosing" the pound or two that I gain.

Everyone have a wonderful weekend!!!

Wide in Winnipeg 10-20-2006 04:42 PM

Allison~ I had my wisdom teeth removed and I still have a rough time opening my mouth and chewing. Also found out I clench my teeth when I do my ab ecercises, that's a nono! LOL!

chicky4 10-21-2006 01:33 AM

Thanks that's reassuring!

alinnell 10-23-2006 11:34 AM

Wide--let me know how long it takes your mouth to heal. I had my wisdom teeth out YEARS ago and can't remember. DD gets hers out on Nov. 17th. I didn't consult the calendar when I made the appointment, and she and I have a charity event two days later. I hope she'll feel up to doing it with me (although it isn't a whole lot of work--we'll be serving a luncheon at our Guide Dogs graduation ceremony).

Wide in Winnipeg 10-24-2006 10:44 PM

I'm doing really well, the only thing is that it's been 11 days and the stitches are bugging me! They haven't even begun to disolve! Whats up with that?? I'm calling the oral surgeon tomorrow to find out how long it usually takes!
Hows everyone doing??
Ilene, still doing your new diet?

3fcuser1058250 10-24-2006 10:54 PM

Thanks for asking WiW, I am doing my own thing, as usual, because I found there wasn't enough protein in that plan. But I have kept drinking the cranberry water and taking psyllium morning and night, and I feel really good...
