The Right Place??

  • Hey All! I've been cruising around the boards trying to find a place to fit in.. lol. I have about fifteen more pounds to lose and am finding it hard to stay motivated. I've come down from 176 to 142 since February of this year but am at a stand still. I know I'm still losing inches because of my clothes and how they fit (or don't fit.. lol). Any good ideas on how to kick start myself back in gear?
  • You're right where I am! I started at 173 and am hovering around 143 right now. My goal is to lose 4 pounds this month and another 4 pounds before Christmas to get to my goal of 135.

I know what you mean being at a standstill. I haven't lost anything for the past 4 to 6 weeks. Well, I gain and lose the same 2 pounds over and over! This month, I am cutting out red wine until I drop the necessary 4 pounds. Then I'll celebrate with a glass--just one--and then get back on track!

Good luck and welcome to the featherweights!
  • Good luck to you both!

  • I'm in the same boat. I started at 175, now am 159, and stuck! That's why I came here. I want to be 140 by the end of the year. That's not unreasonable (about a lb a week), but I need to get going again.
  • Hello!

I'm also new to this site and have been looking around the boards for a good spot to post. I started out at 209 and I'm now at 153 getting near my goal of 140. These last pounds are rough though! I think that it's hard when people have known you at 209 they think at 153 I'm wasting away. I keep getting a lot of, "how much do you want to loose?' and "don't you think that's enough now?" etc. But I know what I'd like to look like and this time I want to go all the way and really get into great shape. Anyone else run into this negativity from others?
  • LuvVegas - Congratulations on your weight loss! That's a huge accomplishment, and I know you feel good about it. As far as comments from other people, I haven't personally experienced the kind of drop you've had, but I think some people are trying to tell you they like you no matter what you weigh. When my sister lost a lot of weight two years ago, it was strange to see her melt away. I think I even made a comment to her like what you mention, but she ignored me and that was good!

Just keep doing what you're doing. Your friends will get used to the new you and the comments will stop.
  • LuvVegas and CONGRATS and on the magnificent weightloss
  • About the negativity ... I think it's because a lot of people don't understand the difference between thinness and fitness. I also noticed that I don't get that kind of suggestion from folks who jog or go the the gym.
  • Thanks for all the feedback! I know that I'm doing the right, healthy thing for my body and I will just have to keep going with it. Thanks again!
