  • I hope to lose 2-3 lbs this month. That's a reasonable goal for me since I'm only doing this through calculating calories. It's a small goal towards looking better for my wedding in the summer. Will weigh in every Sunday.

  • Thank you, guys. I had a 'goodbye' dinner at a restaurant, with a friend who just got married and is now moving back to California. My weight may be back up tomorrow.

Maybe there is something to eating slow (as in some European countries). I had a very large, high calorie dinner, and ate it over 3 hrs of time (it was a goodbye dinner for a dear friend who is moving). I went to bed late, and actually felt hungry again, but didn't eat. Down today which is totally unexpected. That, or "hunger works", inspired by Hungerwerks
  • GOAL: 120 lbs on my "heavier scale" (118lbs-122 lbs)

2/2/15 121.9 lbs (on the scale that reads a lb heavier-NY) Day 2 with the FitBit Charge HR (it gets really happy when you reach 10,000 steps, hah!)
    2/3/15 121.5 lbs (15,000 steps, shoveled 1/2 hr, weights 1/2 hr)
    2/4/15 121.9 lbs
    2/5/15 121.8 lbs
2/6/15 122.4 lbs 1/2 slice pizza yesterday and gained
2/7/15 120.8 lbs (LS)..had ice cream yesterday (1/2 a waffle cone, baskin robbins new valentine's flavor..lost weight, go figure)
2/8/15 120.2 lbs (LS) ran three miles

Good going! I've been reading a book by Geneen Roth (God, Women, and Food) and she talks about what you did, calling it "mindful eating."

Thanks for the kind words, btw. Reminds me of one of things I tell myself when I've had my calories for the day and those pangs hit: "Hunger is fat leaving the body!" (That's me waving 'good-bye' to my fat!)

2/7/15 - 112.8 After a couple hours of walking/jogging and a couple more hours of chores, lol. Did not make week's weight-loss goal (half pound loss for the week) until after one in the afternoon! Saturday is my cut-off, make-or-break day! Thinking of only going for 112.5 next week, so I can be shooting for actual half pounds on the scale, and not "off" amounts like .4 or .8. Good excuse, eh?

  • I've come to the conclusion that I don't lose weight in the scale sense but in the body fat sense. I bought three pairs of size zero jeans yesterday. I think this is more than good enough. It would be nice for scale numbers to go down, but this is fine.

You do you! I'm at 113, at 5'2", and still teetering between an 8 and a 6.
  • I have to accept that if you lift heavy weights all the time, you will have muscle and low body fat, but a higher weight. It still does make me crazy though!

    113 lbs is great. Nice

Thank you! And I don't lift weights all at, so what you're saying makes sense.
