Default taking a rest day

I have been walking and jogging on average 8 to 15 miles a day since June 4th. I added in weight training the beginning of this month; Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

I am thinking about having a rest day on Sundays. Not that I will be sitting still with my feet up but no 8 to 15 miles. What is everyone's thoughts about rest days. Do you feel the body needs this day? Or is it best to keep going? What do you do?

I absolutely thing you need a rest day. I also don't do a day where I just sit around and do nothing...I'm still active, but your level of intensity is quite high and your body truly needs a break to recover especially if you want to prevent injuries.
