I don't know why but somehow I think I look a good deal slimmer if I'm facing a mirror head on rather than from a side profile. But then I see myself from the side and notice my butt is still pretty big and my calves are still kind of wide I wish I could target those spots! :/
I swear this is a crazy optical illusion and makes me wonder how others see me since I guess I look different from other angles. It could just be that I'm very used to seeing my reflection head on and thus I'm much more comfortable with it.
I think a big butt is a good thing. And many people will see the butt and calves as looking strong and solid, which I'm sure they do. It might be that you're not seeing like other people do, like actually *seeing* it differently or that you're just judging it in a way that other people wouldn't. At 126 pounds and 5'3", I just don't think you could have a tremendous booty.

Hahaha well it's definitely not huge but considering what little chest I have, it looks disproportionately big in my mind. *sigh* pear shapes! Around 120-122 lbs, my size six pants get quite baggy in the thighs and waist but I still can't fit into size 4 pants. My booty just likes sticking around while the rest of me gets smaller/more toned.
I totally agree! I think my stomach looks flat from looking at the front but from the side I see the bulges. I have the opposite problem than you, though. I have a large chest and a flat butt!
I feel like I have days where I look better from the side, and days where I look better from the front, largely depending on what I am wearing. My stomach has never been a problem and maybe that is why. I am very broad shouldered and have wide set hips, and so I often feel like i look slimmer from the side than I do straight on.
Worst part is that while I can make my arms/hips slimmer to De-emphasize my hip and shoulder spread, I can't ever make the actual frame smaller
