Default How many pounds do you typically lose a week?

So I heard if you don't have much weight to lose the weight comes off really slowly. SO out of curiousity, how much do you typically lose a week & what is your exercise routine/ diet??

Hello there!
Well I don't have very much weight to lose and it consistently comes off at around 1-2 pounds a week eating about 1400 calories a day + exercise.

I've heard that as well. The weight used to fall off of me... now it's going slower. You are my height and 127 pds? I can't imagine what I would look like at that weight :P

I would say just keep a healthy diet and watch your calories but do not push your body too much. Have you done weight training? I'm doing weight training/cardio 4 times a week and cycling calories based on hunger and workout from 1400 to 1800 a day and losing about 1/pd a week. I'm not in any rush

Hope you have success!

From 132-103 lbs, I lost roughly 1 lb a week. However, for the last 2 weeks I've been losing and gaining 2 lbs (so from 103-105lbs). It's okay since I reintroduced more carbs, started a 3 day a week exercise program and am stressed. I figure one or the other of those is causing a plateau and it'll go down soon enough!

Haha I lose about 2lbs a month. Although it's fairly consistent (you can see in my graphical ticker.. it was faster at first but now it's about 2lbs) so you know slow and steady wins the race and all that. Just 8lbs to go now so 4 months in theory. I'm 5ft 9 so about the same BMI as OP is atm.
I eat around 1200-1500 calories a day and walk the dogs in the evening. Used to run as well but have err stopped doing that lately for personal reasons. I wouldn't want to drop my calories tbh cos this is allowing me to function pretty well and I'd rather do it slowly than end up yo yoing.

I am normally maintaining... so there will be small fluctuations from week to week. I only weigh once a week just to make sure I don't gain or lose too much, but that's all it's for.

If I go on vacation and gain a few pounds, it will take me a couple of weeks to lose them generally. I might have a big whoosh (well, big for ME) the first week of 2 pounds or so, but then after that it's more like 1/2 to 1 lb per week... MAYBE.

For example, I went on vacation the first week in June. My first weekly weigh in afterward showed me up 3.4 pounds. The next week I was back down 2.2 pounds, and then this week and last week were .8 pounds each. (Now back to just under where I was initially).

It absolutely does take a while to lose FAT (Not just scale weight) when you don't have much to lose. I am only about 11-12% bodyfat so getting any more off is a very painstaking process.

I have also heard that also. It's taken me 5 weeks to lose 3lbs. It's a long hard process but I'm sticking to it!

According to my Hacker's Diet log, I've lost 1.17 pounds a week, and am running a deficit of 585 calories. Seeing that is both encouraging and frustrating - I'm glad I'm losing weight, but ideally, I'd be running a deficit of 800 cal. Still, it could be worse.

I attend yoga class twice a week, though things are kind of in flux at the moment - I'm housesitting on the far side of town and am about to go on a road trip. That said, I took my scale and hand-weights with me to the house I'm taking care of, and I'll be hauling them on the road trip as well.

-.25 lbs a week? Very slow going, but I'm eating more for muscle growth than weight loss, right now.

Not long ago I was eating 1500c/day and losing about .5-1lb a week... Lately I've been eating 1800, and it seems to be .5lb/week so far... I'd like to go faster, but I'm fine nestling into a more maintenance-like calorie intake.

I normally lose between .5 - 1lb a week for the past couple of months. Everyone now and then when I mix things up I tend to lose a bit more like 1.5lbs.
