What do you love about your body?
At the risk of sounding like a Dove advert, what do you love about your body? I sometimes think I focus too much on what I don't like, and forget about the things I like. Let's make a list and celebrate the positives!
1. My muscly legs. Having come to terms with the fact my legs will always be bulky, I've come to love the muscle definition I easily get when I train. Maybe not the most feminine of looks (traditionally speaking) but they keep me running! 2. My skin. Since being on Roaccutane and focusing on my eating to lose weight, my skin is looking better than it has in years! 3. My general shape. Once I lose the last few pounds, I'll have a nice (if a bit wide, damn those hips) hourglass figure going on. Over to you! |
Everything from neck to lower abs is pretty rockin' right now. Maybe needs a little more muscle to fill me out, but I'm as lean in this zone as I want to be, my biceps have some interesting definition, and I feel really strong and powerful in my arms and abs. :)
|
Well, there's not a whole lot I'm loving right now. But, even at my heaviest, I love my nose. Know why? It doesn't gain weight. No matter what I do, my nose stays the same.
|
Haha, you girls have managed to mention all the parts of my body i still don't like -- skin (I relapsed after low-dose Accutane and am considering another course), abs, lack of muscle, nose.
Despite their smaller-than-ideal size, though, I love my eyes and my lips. I am a fan of my emerging shoulders and the muscle tone I've developing on my calves. And I have a reliably kickass set of boobs. |
I hate how my gut reaction to this thread was "NOTHING" - but now that I'm thinking about it, there are things I like about me.
-I have a symmetrical face and a decent jawline. -The area around my upper arms/shoulders has become muscular from pushups, and I've stopped being self-conscious about a "second wave" of arm fat. -My wrists and ankles are very small, and my skeleton in general is tiny. -Proportionally my legs are a bit big, but they are strong. -I LOVE my immune system. I never, EVER get sick. |
I have a pretty nice waist area. And I like my legs, half of the time. That's about it for now. :)
|
my skin color.... I love being brown :-)
|
I get constant compliments on my face/eyes, and I carry my weight well (for my height) due to a curvy figure. :)
|
My shoulders and collarbones, and I've started to accept my hourglass-ish figure even though it means broad hips.
|
I get compliments on my skin and skin colour, everyone always thinks I've come from a vacation.
I like my shape overall, for a 54 year old, people tell me I look strong :strong:, that's what 26 years of weight training will do :D ... |
My cute upturned nose.
My formidable bust - ah, you have let me get away with so much weight. Same to you, butt. My calves are completely rocking and have never had an ounce of fat on them. |
It's all good...I could use a tan though....
5'7" & 135 # oh yeah, baby! WW Lifetime! |
hmmm...I love my waist. its so tiny, and it makes me feel super feminine having an hourglass shape :)
....ha my goal is to be a little less hourglass-y, but still! & I gotta say I have rockin' hair. it can do anything & never changes, which is comforting |
Yeah great answers everyone! I like my skin colour too, even though it is lily white, not fashionable and burns really easily. It is all about embracing the things we can't change ;)
|
Hmmmm.......my blue-grey eyes, long arms and legs which make me seem smaller than I actually am......and my boobs - I'll miss them when they go away, lol! My bust was the one thing I loved about my weight gain.
|
I really like my hair, because I can change it as many times as I want. I like to dye it, cut it, layer it. If I ever get sick of the short haircuts, I can always buy extensions. I like my skin, too. I'm of Scandinavian descent so it's very soft and porcelainesque. I also really like my eyes and my jawline. I look a lot like my mom. I've been told I have "fawn-like" features, and fawns are cute and graceful, and I like them. And last but not least... my big boobs. :D (Hope they don't shrink too much.)
|
I love my wrists - they seem so itsy bitsy now compared to before - and my calves and my shoulders and my freckles!
I also love this thread. |
I love my shoulders, seriously, sometimes we need a room, my shoulders and me!
I like the rest of me and I'm coming to terms with being more triangle than hourglass. I still find my boobs annoying. They are past "rockin'" size to "damn if only they were smaller I could wear dresses that fit and medium tops" I also love this thread. |
This is sort of a NSV and sort of a body celebration: I love that, as of today, my thighs no longer touch when I am walking/jogging. I can't really "see" a difference from weight loss, but I love that one of the least comfortable things about running (chafing) will no longer be a problem.
|
Wow lacksadaisy, I was only wondering the other day if that would ever be possible for me!
I also love my eyes and the fact that everyone has contributed to this thread :D |
I initially thought "nothing" -- I like my eyes, I suppose.
I like my boobs more now that they're manageable (DD is easier to dress than what I was wrestling with before, anyway), and I'm pleased to find that weight loss hasn't given my boobs that tennis-ball-in-a-tube-sock kind of effect. I've always had very pretty legs, I only gained a small amount of weight in my thighs which is pretty much gone now and my calves have always been shapely but slim. I also have tiny ankles and wrists, and long, thin fingers. I guess there are things I like about myself! :D Can't wait to say that I love everything about me. |
I like my collar bones, they've always been there, even at my heaviest they were visible, i just have a really large bone structure in that area!
Also my eyelashes, even on my worst days i still have them, they're supe long and dark and i get asked if i'm wearing falsies all the time :) |
Whilst I'm reasonably happy with my stomach ... starting to see some definition yay! (I still need to lose a few inches around my waist (because that's where I put it on this time arrgghh!)) Hope to get back to a 4 pack (the most ab definition I've ever had)
I'm also happy with my arms and shoulders... getting there with the definition and size to balance out my lower half (which has always been the problem area for me) I'm so sick of having such an obvious pear shape... if I can bring the focus to my upper body that would be enough for me. I am also happy with my relatively muscular calves... and slowly the definition is *starting* go to my thighs :carrot: |
Love this thread!
My chest and shoulders. Push ups and yoga sure have reshaped those softies into some nice looking collar bones and muscles. :) |
Thank you for this thread. I initially thought, "NOTHING!" when reading the title, but your answers have made me reconsider. I like my shoulders and collarbones. I like my eye color and shape. I like my upper belly (two babies in two years + poor skin elasticity means saggy skin and stretch marks below my belly button) and I like my hands. :)

But back to the spirit of the thread, I love my new found abs and flat tummy. :-) And strangely enough, I love my boney hands and feet. But yeah, I'm most in love with my shoulders and collarbones. :cheer2: |
my wrists and 'man' hands. It was actually the first place I noticed weight loss and suddenly found my once short kind of chubby hands are looking a bit bigger and thinner. I'm proud of them because I see a difference and have started painting my nails.
|
Love this thread!
I love my face, my height, and my sexy parts :D |
Stomach, eyes shape, skin texture and complexion, overall shape ( still need to do toning on the lower body though) and my smile although it is hidden underneath braces at the moment lol :D
|
I have a killer rack. lol
I've always had pretty decent legs, and shapely calves (I carry all my weight above the hips). |
I love the definition I can see in my thighs if I "flex." Can't wait for it to become even more defined.

* An hour glass figure (hey, it's a large glass, but steadily shrinking!) * Soft, silky skin * Naturally curly hair * Green eyes * Nice legs (Thanx Ga-Ga!!) * The potential to be smokin' hot again one day soon!!! Thanx for the great posts, and best wishes for continued success!!! :carrot::carrot: Sidanne http://www.tsflsupportinmotion.com/T...6107374111.gif |
My large pale eyes, my oval face and my long and proportionate neck, and also my shoulders.
I would make a good ship's figurehead or mermaid. Alas, if only it stopped there ... The thing is, knowing my good points has made me much smarter about choosing clothes & dressing. As any good chef on a cooking show knows, it's 95% about how it's presented on the plate. |
i think i like my back, but i actually dont get to see it too often and in too bad of angles and lights so perhaps that is why. and some days, i love my face...and other days i think i look so awkward and ugly. and im sure i look relatively the same every day :P

- Somewhat of an hourglass figure
- Grey-blue eyes (now if only they weren't so tiny) - Pretty good rack (I'm gonna miss the girls if they shrink during the weight loss) - Tiny wrists and hands - And, my skin isn't perfect, but I've never had an extreme, pizza-face style breakout before. Usually they're really small and don't happen too often. |
I love how small my waist and ribcage are. I have a serious hourglass shape and it definitely gives me confidence to wear dresses and such.
|
I absolutely LOVE my breasts. Seriously they're like one of the only things I wouldn't change about myself (the others being my red hair, blue eyes and upper abs). I'm a size 32/34 E which trust me is difficult to shop for but I love them all the same. I just don't feel myself unless I'm showing them off and I'm gonna be honest I kinda adore the attention ;) Except when it's from the creepy 80 something year old guys ¬¬ But I suppose ya gotta take the bad with the good right? :)

Anyway, if I had to name three things: 1. My chest. For a woman on the cusp of 40 (this November!), my breasts are full and sit nicely on my chest wall. I also like the size - 33C. Enough said there, lol. 2. My abs. Considering I've given birth twice, I thought I'd never see my tummy flat again let alone toned with nice definition. Running has helped me to shed the loose skin from the pregnancies and eating cleanly too. 3. My skin. Since cutting sugar out, my skin which was always pretty decent (except for that time of the month) has gotten much smoother and clearer, if possible. In fact, people say to me all the time that I have a "young face" and can't believe how old I am. P.S. I'm still jealous of your hourglass. :P |
This is really tough because I'm very self-critical and when I first read the title I thought "nothing, I have a fat face, fat thighs ect." and then I thought, y'know what? No, I will force myself to answer this.
1) I love my brain, I'm kinda smart (sometimes). 2)My hips!! I can't decide if I'm an hour glass or a pear shape but either way now that my waist as shrunk, I'm very proud of them. I've always thought wide hips and a small waist was gorgeous on other girls, now I have them too :D 3) My clear skin. I rarely get spots. Even when I was a teenager I only ever got a few during TOM. 4) My 'man' hands. I first noticed I was losing weight around my wrists (weird but true) and consequently my hands began to look bigger and bonier. So now I brag to my boyfriend about my 'man' hands. They're still small but they look bigger than they ever have before and have become a kind of symbol to me that this diet and exercise is working. |
