Daily Accountability??

I am having a hard time getting on track as of late, and see a few others out there that appear to be in the same boat. Would anyone be interested in doing an accountability thread with me? Just post your eats for the day, maybe your calories. Also I would love to see what your work outs are and how often you do them. Maybe weight as well? I think a few weeks would do the trick of healthy eating to get me back on track! Anyone with me?

lackadaisy 02-17-2011 09:33 PM

Totally up for it. I log daily on LoseIt actually, and I find that helps a lot -- 3FC is a great forum & resource to discuss issues around weight loss & food & all kinds of things, but something like FitDay or LoseIt is still a necessary complement.

Joining you: I ate 300 cal in cookies between midnight and noon and then ate sensibly all day after that:

L: grilled chicken (4 oz), a few tbsp bulgar wheat (2 oz), broccoli (4 oz), cucumber, on a bed of salad. 264 calories.
D: carrot & ginger soup (4 oz), roast veggies (4 oz), baked cod (4 oz). 330 calories incl. lots of healthy fats cooked into the fish & veggies.
S: a spoonful of mango sorbet (couldn't resist), a handful of Total, an orange (70 cal), and three rice cakes (105 cal together). assuming ~200 calories.

That makes just about 1100 for the day. I didn't exercise substantively because my ankle was in huge pain all day -- so assuming 0 extra calories from exercise, just a bit of crutching around as if with normal mobility. I'm hoping writing this here keeps me from late-night snacking.

I'm trying a lower-carb diet starting tomorrow -- a kind of painful decision because I have a LOT of amazing carb snacks in my room right now -- but it has to be done. I think I'll take some of the little cakes to the dining hall and leave it there (college students will take/eat anything).

ETA: Oops, I couldn't resist eating another two rice cakes... adding another 70 calories. Ah well. I need to get off this carb binge -- tomorrow.

Tuca125 02-17-2011 11:47 PM

I am in ... starting tomorrow morning.... Iam going crazy.

Wildflower 02-17-2011 11:54 PM

I would love to join in! I used to post over in the calorie counting thread but I've been mainly posting in Featherweights lately.

I didn't add up my calories today, but I will post my food anyway.

Breakfast: 1/4 cup Oatmeal with cinnamon and vanilla, with vanilla almond milk, blueberries and blackberries. Several cups of green tea.

Lunch: 9 Brown Rice Crackers eaten with hummus, grape tomatoes, green olives, 2 slices smoked tofurky.

Dinner: Amy's Non-Dairy Pot Pie. Baby carrots. 2 glasses of EmergenC (vitamin packet you add to water)

Snack: 1 ounce dark chocolate and a few sips of black raspberry wine

krampus 02-18-2011 12:01 AM

yesterday's food:

Breakfast: Yogurt, oatmeal with raisins

Snack: Apple

Lunch: Salad on bed of mizuna with cheddar cheese, borlotti beans, raisins, strawberries and sesame oil

Snack: Blueberry yogurt

Dinner: Red Thai chicken curry over 1 eggplant, 1 carrot, half an apple (chopped)

"Dessert:" Other half of the apple, 1 mandarin orange chopped up with some cheddar cheese

Exercise: 50 minutes walking and 40 minutes Tae Bo Cardio

Total calories: 1500-1550

indiblue 02-18-2011 01:00 AM

Sure, yay for more accountability. I'm on FitDay, which is actually really helpful, but I know I don't put in random spoonfuls of this or that that I snack on. Maybe having it posted here for all to see will help.

Yesterday:
B'fast: Homemade smoothie- banana, fat-free yogurt, strawberry, bran
Lunch: (estimated, ate out family-style): 1 appam (rice bread), 1/2-3/4 c coconut rice, somewhere between 1-1.5 c assorted curries
Dinner: 3 bites of pizza, 2 bites of leftover curry/rice, Slim Fast with skim milk

Total: aside from the "bites", 1250. Including everything, probably closer to 1400.

Exercise: 30 minutes moderate yoga

Today so far:
B'Fast: Homemade smoothie- banana, fat-free yogurt, bran, honey
Snack: 1 spoonful Nutella (oops), 3 short strips seasoned nori
Lunch: 1 cup homemade cauliflower-carrot puree

krampus that orange + cheddar cheese sounds delicious...

maenad 02-18-2011 05:50 AM

Yeah, I started up my FitDay account again today, but seeing as though I am the only one looking at what I eat, I thought it might be fun to do it here, too. I put the last two days into my fit day, I was totally able to see where most my calories come from: beer and late night "snacks" which are actually whole meals. I am surprised that I haven't gained MORE weight to be honest.

Yesterday:
B:4 tiny pancakes and a mango
S: 1/3 pumello (like a really big grape fruit)
L: Homemade Vegan black bean burger on WW bread, w/ avocado and veg.
S: peanuts
D: (This was my down fall) salad, two slices of pizza (small), 1/3 a fried veggie chimichanga, and a few bites of pasta, topped off with 3 beers.

Today has been so much better!
B:1 boiled egg, 1.5 WW toast, 2 Tbsp Veggie baked Beans, tomato/cucumber salad
S: Sports drink (I get so tired of water)
Late Lunch/early dinner: Homemade black bean burger crumbled on top of a salad with lettuce, tomato, red peppers, avocado and corn.

This puts me at 990 so far, but I know My husband will be hungry when he gets home from work. Therefore I will make pasta w/ veg for him and have just veggies with sauce for me.

indiblue 02-18-2011 12:25 PM

I LOVE pomellos!!! I could eat an entire one in one sitting.

I finished off today pretty bad with:
Dinner: 1 slice of personal pan pizza, 1/2 of banana/peanut butter sandwich, ANOTHER spoonful of Nutella, a pear and 4 more Pringles. Worst dinner ever!

Not necessarily a ton of calories, but a lot of processed food. This is stuff I usually don't eat. Not sure what happened today :-/

lackadaisy 02-18-2011 08:22 PM

I started today off pretty rough calorie-wise, just eating a bit too much in my zeal to keep carbs down. But I'm hopefully on track to finishing strong.

Pre-Breakfast snack [8 am]: 110 cals
• 4 TJs flaxseed & soy tortilla chips: 70
• 2 Tbsp three-layer hummus: 50

Breakfast [9 am... haha]: Turkey-bean-egg wrap, 170 cals
• 3 slices turkey (lunchmeat): 76
• 2 hard-boiled eggs, whites only: 34
• 1 slice tomato: 3
• 1.5 oz (3 Tbsp) refried beans: 40
• 9 grapes -- I indulged: 15
• 6 oz coffee, 12 oz water

Lunch [12 pm]: Grilled chicken salad with parmesan honey vinaigrette, ~290
• 4 oz grilled chicken: 150
• 1 Tbsp granola & oats: 30
• 2 cups salad mix, field greens: 20
• 1/2 cup cucumber: 8
• 1 cup green beans: 34
• 2 Tbsp vinaigrette (homemade) with 30% 170cal dressing, 10% honey, 40% water, 20% vinegar: 70
• 6 oz coffee, 12 oz water, 12 oz light lemonade (8 cals)

4pm "Oh crap I'm hungry" random snack: 153 cal
•*1/8 cup Cracklin Oat Bran: 33
• 1/2 cup Special K: 60
• 4 more tortilla chips: 60
-- followed by more cravings, alleviated by nap.

7:30 "Wake up and run to dining hall and beg kitchen staff to let me make a salad" dinner: 265 cal
• ~0.75 oz Quinoa and Dried Cherry Salad, topping: 45
• 2 cups salad mix, field greens: 20
• 4 oz tuna (water): 145
• 1 cup snap green beans: 34
• 2 Tbsp chopped red onions: 8
• 24 oz light lemonade (16 cal), 12 oz water

I'm at just under 1000 calories and 93 carbs (68 net carbs) for the day, which is about 75-100g carb fewer than I usually eat. Still have room in my budget for a cup of carrots and super-rich peanut butter, or a cookie. I'm tempted but not hungry at all... though i did have a bit more sodium than I like (2800 mg), today was (mostly) a cravings-control success!

krampus 02-18-2011 11:07 PM

Oh dear. I'm already at or above calories for the day and it's 1 pm and I had allotted 1800-2000 for the day. Been a pretty steady stream of nutritionally void things - yogurt parfait with bran flakes and jam, "trail mix" cookies, coughcough a medium pizza (about 2 big NY slices' worth, Japanese pizzas are small) coughcough...

maenad 02-19-2011 02:27 AM

So last night I ended up getting really hungry by the time the hub was back from work, plus I was midway making a massive pot of spaghetti with homemade sauce and grilled eggplant for him. I ended up having a small portion of it with parm cheese, along with fresh pineapple and two squares of chocolate for dessert. All in all I was around 1550 yesterday.

Now that I am counting calories properly (first time in a while) using FitDay I think I need to make a caloric goal and stick to it: 1400 if I am working out, 1200 if I'm not. Hopefully this will push me to work out more.

So far today:
B: coffee with sugar
1.5 slices WW bread with 1.5 Tbsp Peanut butter
L:1.5 portions of left over spaghetti w/sauce, eggplant, cheese
S: 3 crackers

already nearing my allowance for the day and it's only 2:30 and I have to work this evening...

maenad 02-19-2011 08:46 AM

S: pineapple (115)
D:1/2 pumello and cashews (270)

Feeling good, stayed under 1300 for the day.

lackadaisy 02-19-2011 07:51 PM

Today was an odd day. Judged a debate tournament, went shopping, tried to work on my thesis in between but ended up watching The Office and lurking on 3FC. No intrusive food thoughts, just... horrible procrastination. Horrible.

I bought 2 Full Bars at CVS on a whim and after trying to eat half of one, regretted it immediately. That was the least satisfying $1.25 & 80 calories I've ever eaten - literally tasted like sugary styrofoam. :( Maybe it will work? I'll keep you all updated.

B: 1 pork sausage link, 3 oz scrambled eggs, 1 medium banana: 300 calories
S: 1 peanut butter chocolate chip cookie (haha -- 140 cal)
L: 2 oz seitan steak, 4 oz steamed green beans, 3/4 cup steamed broccoli, 4 oz egg whites, boca burger, 1/4 medium apples (three bites) = 260 calories??
D: 1/2 Full Bar (banana bread), 1 boca burger, 2 oz three cheese gnocchi (savoring the yumminess of about 6 individual gnocchi pieces, lol) - 260 cals

EDIT: I had planned to eat another 300 cal in snacks, but instead of waiting with them sitting next to me in my room, I wolfed down the 1.5 cups of green beans... and nothing else. I can't even work up the appetite for PB & cottage cheese. Maybe the "Full Bar" and all that fiber is actually working... or the gnocchi had more calories than I thought. Either way, ending the day a little less on-plan than yesterday, 82g net carb, 78g protein, 29g fiber, just over 1000 calories.

maenad 02-20-2011 11:49 AM

so today started off well:
B:WW toast, PB, coffee
L:egg noodles with mixed veggies
S:7 crackers with PB and calcium enriched chocolate milk (have been craving milk a lot recently but normally rarely drink it)
D:Sweet roll with meat inside (work provided, I didn't eat the meat)

After work I was a little hungry so I made my husband pasta with broccoli and tomato sauce. I ended up having some of the pasta (but mostly just veg) with him. I ended the day just over 1600. Hopefully tomorrow goes much better.

maenad 02-21-2011 09:45 PM

well, I did great yesterday....
B:salad with 2 boiled egg whites, lettuce, tomatoes, corn and cucumbers with oil (300 calories)
L: Malaysian food-potatoes, green beans, naan bread, curried okra, and a bite or two of rice
D: work provided pho with no meat (basically just rice noodles with bean sprouts and lettuce)
2nd D: a helping of noodles with spinach and morning glory
totally around 1400 calories for the day
Then my down fall: BEER (an unmentionable amount.)

feeling pretty down on myself today.

krampus 02-21-2011 10:19 PM

Yesterday was good, ideal even.

B: Yogurt, oatmeal
L1: Salad with ham and potato salad
L2: Sliced apples, cheddar cheese, Borlotti beans
S: Blueberry yogurt, chocolate peanut heart
S: Protein bar
D: Fish, 1 carrot, 1 fried egg, 1 mandarin orange
N (Nibbles): Tasted today's lunch

Exercise: 70 min fast walking, 45 minutes running/jogging, 50 pushups, 200 crunches, bird dogs

Total calories: ~1300

inteventionn 02-21-2011 10:37 PM

hopping in!

today i did a fast, so i didn't eat until after the gym at around five. besides my two cups o' coffee with half and half idk how much? 40 cals? and one packet of truvia which actually has three carbs each so...

gym was ten minutes running, ten minutes elliptical, ten minutes stair stepper, ten minutes walking w/ three, one minute sprints, and then ten minutes bike. (i had a terrible weekend and wanted to somewhat expel the extra energy i took in.)

food:
chicken leg quarter w/skin: 264
chicken, white meat w/o skin, maybe half a breast (i was taking some from a full chicken and didnt measure): 74
chicken broth: 60
small amount of celery and carrots in soup: ~30

my second time eating was one bacon strip: 30
two eggs made in butter: 180
and some greek yogurt with cinnamon...so good: 60?

and i just had some homemade chili, and i didn't eat the beans, and it didn't seem like i ate much..im going to say 100 calories there. i was so hungry though i needed something but it needed to be low carb.

so, i am around 800 calories counting wise. given that i don't measure anything i could probably be close to 1000. i am hoping i stayed under my alotted 20 grams of carbs.

lackadaisy 02-21-2011 11:41 PM

Y'all have been doing so well!

I've fallen off my low-carb wagon the past couple of days. I actually feel like I've been really off-plan with snacks, but I add them all up and... they fit? Who knows. I'm trying to enjoy life a little more.

Went to the gym for an hour: 20 min running, 20 min situps/planks/birddogs, 20min putzing around free weights (ineffective). also did 30 minutes of pretty intense walking.

B: trail mix cookie - a big one -- 240 cal
L: tuna salad on grilled veggies (with olive oil) and greens, 230 cal
D: grilled chicken, broccoli, spaghetti squash, 215 cal
late-night meal: 1/2 bagel with pb&j, 250 cal

SO MANY RANDOM SNACKS: bowl of cereal, cookie, half candy bar, 3 tortilla chips, 4 sugarfree candies. 470 calories, ugh.

Total: 1405 calories. meh.
all my sustenance comes from carb-loading at odd intervals...

must get back on track and be super low-carb tomorrow. I guess what I end up doing is something like cycling and not the worst thing in the world -- but my impulse is still to feel guilty about eating over 1200 calories.

krampus 02-22-2011 12:03 AM

lackadaisy Is the trail mix cookie you mention the Sun Maid brand one? My bf got me a 360 calorie bag of mini Sun Maid trail mix cookies in that package and it was gone within 24 hours. As for the random snacks/going over 1200, try not to beat yourself up. Sometimes it's letting yourself have those random seemingly off-plan snacks that keeps you from losing your mind.

lackadaisy 02-22-2011 01:14 AM

Krampus, no, they're from Protein Bakery -- the "enormous cookie" kind (I ate 2/3s of it). Protein Bakery cookies are pretty amazing, actually.

When not at my TOM, I'm fairly immune to the chocolate and peanut butter flavors -- to the point where I tried a nibble of a choco-choco-chip cookie today, thought "meh," and threw it away -- but the trail mix and cranberry almond flavors -- !! I'm a sucker for things with grain, nut, and dried fruit.

I think I actually approached 1500 what with terrible estimating -- but, yeah, I forgive myself. I've been losing so much the last couple of days, and I worked out a lot (for me) today, so there shouldn't be any damage. Today was almost a trial to see how much I would want to eat if I went completely crazy, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that I am nearly always happy with 250-300 calories at any one sitting.

Now, to just cut down on that late night compulsive carbing...

indiblue 02-22-2011 04:10 AM

maenad I've had trouble figuring out the calories of a bowl of pho. I eat veg pho but I've still had sources say it's upwards of 600 calories :o I can't believe it since it's really just broth, bean sprouts and noodles, but perhaps there is something added to the broth that I'm not aware of? (I also just learned how many calories are in most sushi rolls, so I wouldn't be surprised if pho has hidden calories/fat that I wasn't aware of).

My eating the last two days has been fine calorie-wise but NOT clean at all. It's embarrassing. Will post after dinner hoping I can get back on track the rest of the day....

krampus 02-22-2011 08:28 AM

Today was okay, though lunch was a bit unreasonable.

Breakfast - 170
-Yogurt, oatmeal, some raisins

Lunch - 650
-Stir fry with kimchee, eggplant, carrot, 2 eggs, pasta, sesame oil, 550
-2 squares dark chocolate, 70
-Some raisins, 30

Snack - 100
-1 mini cream puff from a coworker

Dinner - 850?
-Shared platter of DIY BBQ beef, chicken, pork
-Large side of veggies
-1 mini hard candy
-1 pc. sugared chewing gum

Exercise
-45 min walking
-40 min Tae Bo Cardio
-100 crunches

Calorie Total - ~1770

indiblue 02-22-2011 09:30 AM

krampus, lunch didn't look unreasonable to me, especially with your exercise regiment. Mmmm kimchi!!!

Ok my food today ended up way weird and not clean at all. I had little appetite today for some reason, just wanted to nibble:
B: Slim Fast with skim milk
L: 1 pomegranate, homemade iced coffee with 2% milk and 1 tsp of sugar, about 4 oz of my boyfriend's Kraft Macaroni and Cheese (!?), 5 small pieces of leftover shrimp from dinner (!? did I mention I'm a grazer.... !?)
D: 1 cup of french-cut beans, steamed with 1 tsp butter and salt and pepper, 1 glass of red wine. (WTH?)
S: 2 tsp of Nutella, 10 Pringles.

Exercise: 45 minutes light yoga
Total calories: 1,130

I am so weirded out right now by what I ate. It's like it's my TOM, even though I finished last week. I usually eat so clean, I have no idea what happened :?::?:

maenad 02-23-2011 07:20 AM

Indiblue: There is alot of calories in Pho, but I honestly have no idea why. I don't drink the broth here (made with unfiltered water) and don't eat the meat either. I generally only add lime, hot peppers, lettuce and bean sprouts. My work provided soup is pretty minuscule, like not even a cup of rice noodles, so it isn't more than a few hundred calories.

indiblue 02-23-2011 08:20 AM

That's good you have a lo-calorie version of pho! Thanks for also confirming the rumors about how many calories it had. I used to eat it like it was nothing- whole bowls of the 'large' size, assuming I was doing myself a favor. Now I definitely eat only half of the small size and take the rest home.

Another reason it's difficult to lose weight and calorie count abroad- there is not enough accurate stats out there on "ethnic" food. (I came back from my trip last weekend and tried to record idiappam, payasam, papadam... needless to say it was a little difficult!)

krampus 02-23-2011 09:25 AM

Today was Wednesday, which means Subway and Baskin Robbins. Allotted for it in my calories and succeeded.

Breakfast - 180
-Yogurt, oatmeal, some raisins

Snack - 83
-Beef jerky

Lunch - 275
-Salad: 2 heads of spinach (25?), sesame oil (50), 40g seasoned chicken (65), 1 small mandarin orange (35), Cheddar cheese (70), some raisins (30)

Snacks/munchies - 100
-2 mini rice cakes, 100?

Dinner - 800?
-Subway 6 inch turkey sandwich on wheat with egg, extra veggies, and mustard. Listed as 268 + 41 for the egg, but I don't trust such exact numbers so I rounded up to 350
-Nibble: Saltines with sea urchin cream at market, 3-4 slivers...?
-Dessert: Baskin Robbins small double ice cream, 380

Exercise
-50 min quick walking
-40 min Tae Bo Cardio
-50 pushups, 100 crunches, planks

Total calories: 1450-1500 - just in case I forgot something/underestimated, I'm not terribly exact with the math

I hope I see a positive change on the scale for Friday morning. Planning a run tomorrow and made an epic salad for lunch. I'm never hungry after running so I'm going to eat a little more at work than I did today.

indiblue 02-23-2011 10:13 AM

Can you guys take a look at today? I think it was pretty good, but seeing as I've plateau'd for the past week despite the fact that I've cut calories, I'd love feedback.

B: Banana, Slim-Fast with skim milk (sorry, I know SF isn't the best food, but it's sometime all I can eat in the morning)
L: 1/3 pomegranate, 2 c spinach salad with 1/2 c strawberries and about 1 or 1.5 oz brie, homemade vinaigrette dressing with light oil
S: 2 tsp Nutella (lol don't judge), 2 c air popped popcorn
D: 1 or 1.5 c elbow macaroni with homemade tomato sauce (fresh tomatoes, garlic, rosemary, salt, Hunt's tomato paste, water)

Liquid: 7 glasses of water, 2 diet cokes (eek!!! That's way more than I usually have)

Total: 1300

Wildflower 02-23-2011 07:22 PM

Indiblu- your days looks pretty good. 1300 is a good amount for most to lose on too.

here is my today: About 1200 calories. I might have a piece of chocolate too.

Breakfast: 1/2 cup oatmeal (150) with 1/4 cup vanilla almond milk (22.5), blueberries and blackberries (30). mug of green tea.

Lunch (765?): Foot long veggie from subway, with spinach, green pepper, tomatoes, cucumbers, pickles, olives, provolone cheese - 560. part of a bag of sunchips 175.

Snack (50): tea with almond milk (25) emergenc (25)

Dinner (230): salad made of herb mix, grape tomatoes, 1 T hummus, 2 slices tempeh, green olives, avocado dressing. miso soup.

lackadaisy 02-23-2011 07:43 PM

I've been focusing on my thesis (and actually making progress, THANK GOODNESS as it's due in under two weeks), so my eating is all over the place. TOday:

- late last night bowl of cereal + Zone bar for breakfastl: 330 cal
- huge veggie stirfry, steamed green beans, 1 small serving spoon rice/beans, piece of fish for lunch: ~400 cal
- one slice of pizza, diet coke for dinner: 300 cal
- 1 kiwi, a bunch of minislices of melon, and a handful of doritos for a snack: 220 cal

1200 cal and it's not even 8 pm. oh dear. sleep deprivation doesn't make me hungry, but it makes me so incapable of self-control... it took an effort of will not to grab that second slice of pizza. no, that's not right: it took just having consumed a ton of doritos.

indiblue 02-23-2011 11:48 PM

Wildflower are you veg? I LOVE tempeh!!

Lackadaisy congrats on the thesis! I'm working on 3 research papers right now too, and it's so hard to keep focusing when I have 3FC and Facebook all day to distract me. Good luck :)

Still at 130.8 AGAIN this morning. WTH. Will post my food at the end of the day. Feedback welcome.

inteventionn 02-24-2011 08:52 AM

yeah i am hopping back out because i used to calorie count ALL THE TIME. and i would cry when i would eat something that i didn't know the calories for, like if i went out to eat or had something weird. but, it drove me up a wall and it would just..stress me out waaaaaaaay too much. i am atkins induction anyway and they say not to count calories...

unless you guys want to see what i am eating, i can certainly do that but the calories...ugh. i hate numbers!

indiblue 02-24-2011 09:05 AM

Ok, today was a marked improvement. Still not totally clean, but at least I kept the grazing under control. Feedback is again welcome!

B: Homemade smoothie (low-fat yogurt, bran, 1 banana, 1/2 c strawberries)

L: 1 slice veg Dominos Pizza, spinach salad with 2 tbs homemade vinaigrette, 1/2 c strawberries, 2 squares Cadbury chocolate almond bar

D: 3/4 c homemade Indian chole (aka channa masala- chick peas in a tomato/onion sauce), 1 homemade atta chapati (aka water/whole wheat flour tortilla)

Snacks: ANOTHER banana, 3 carrots, currently eating frozen banana (don't really know what's up with me and the bananas today)

Total: 1265 Calories

krampus 02-24-2011 09:16 AM

Today was a disaster waiting to happen that eventually happened. I won't write specifics on here, but I ate more than twice my target calorie range (1200-1700) due to *sigh* starting and finishing a whole 255g jar of natural peanut butter. Not the fluffy Skippy/Jif kind with sugar - this was the real deal, so my insides are literally packed with pure peanuts. I feel a bit disgusting and I'm sure my weight will be up in the morning.

Had a strange chat with my dad about binge eating. He's pretty big and I suspected he was a binger and he confirmed it. He's a former bodybuilder and I think it's really tearing him apart that he let himself get so out of shape and heavy.

Yep, in June I will have been veg for 16 years. I love tempeh too, I buy the smokey kind that's meant to taste like bacon. Ha. Been trying hard to not live on processed soy (like veggie chickn) and stick to tempeh/tofu.

Lackadaisy Wow, aren't you still in undergrad? What is your thesis on, if you don't mind me asking? :)

Krampus  At least pb is a healthy fat...it's probably not too bad?

Here is my today:

Breakfast (440): Bagel (300) with 1 T margarine (100). EmergenC packet (25). Few sips of rancid coffee with almond milk (15). :(

Lunch (300): Salad with herb mix (10), grape tomatoes (20), 3 slices tempeh (100), 2 T hummus (80), 2 T avocado dressing (60), 10 green olives (30).

Snacks (255): EmergenC (25), Sunflower Mango Cracker (50), Pear (80), dark chocolate (100). Green tea (0)

Dinner (350): Amy's Black Bean Enchilada (280), chocolate marzipam (50), few raspberries (20).

Daily total: 1345

indiblue 02-25-2011 01:27 AM

Awesome, wildflower! I'm going on 11 years veg myself. I miss tempeh so much living in India. Fortunately India is the most veg-friendly country in the world so there's tons of channa masala, palak paneer, and other deliciousness to sort of make up for it, so I can't complain. Still, looking forward very much to tempeh when I go back to the US.

Your meals yesterday look great! Way to go.

krampus interesting about your dad. How did the conversation come up? Is he a supportive presence in your weight-loss/anti-binging process?

indiblue Indian food is my absolute favorite! Your posts have me drooling. Yuuum.

I had a pretty good day today, didn't even cave into my Friday night indulgences. I didn't really count calories up, but I think I did pretty well. Any comments on my diet? We went grocery shopping tonight so I'll be eating better next week! :)

Breakfast: Bagel with 1 T margarine. Tea with soymilk.

Snack: pear

Lunch: salad of spring mix, cucumber, tomatoes, kalmata olive, boiled egg, 1 T feta, dried cranberries. Balsamic vinegar over the top. Breadstick.

Snack: yogurt with 6 almonds

Dinner: half a sandwich of mock chopped liver, green olives, herb mix. baby carrots, hummus. glass of homemade sangria.

indiblue the thesis is a DISASTER. no congratulations. and it makes me want to stuff my face all the time so even fewer congrats there. xD

yesterday was a terrible eating day. at least i learned to use the elliptical for the first time and got in a legit 30-minute elliptical session (technically two; I was winded after 20 minutes and took a "thesis break," then went back at it for another 10).

food: 1,600 calories
-- all kinds of cookies / rice cakes / protein bar / cashews for "breakfast": 800 (LOL)
-- no lunch (still felt sick/full)
-- ridic quantity of arugula, cucumber, onions, grape tomatoes, small bit of olive oil, about 4 oz baked cod, 1 boca burger, broccoli for dinner/afternoon snacks: hilariously, this was only ~400 calories.
-- around 10 pm, lots of tortilla chips + hummus + salsa: 400 calories and i don't regret it.

burned off ~200 on the elliptical = just about my daily range. still a little embarrassing. this is what happens when i actually only eat 1000 calories in a day (thursday) and wake up in a fasted state. :)

Indiblue: Your food looks good, sounds interesting too, so you're never bored! It really is a challenge to diet abroad and try to count the calories, it's never going to accurate.

Yesterday was actually pretty good food wise, but I was out all day and never got a chance to count it all up. Thursday was a disaster, plus I threw a huge dinner party. I never really got a chance to eat the high calorie food I prepared for the party, but got more than enough calories from the many glasses of wine I consumed while slaving away in the kitchen.

HOWEVER: today is a new day and I have done wonderfully!
B: Milk with calcium enriched chocolate powder (so yummy!)
L: noodles with spinach, a sip of my friends avocado smoothie
D: burrito bowl w/ beans, a little cheese, avocado, corn, tomato, cucumber, lime and homemade salsa.

All in all just over 1400, plus had an active day of playing with kids and teaching on my feet for 7 hours. Wahoo!
