Looking through before photos helps me stay on track. I even print them out and put them around the house. When I look at them I remember how I felt, how much harder little tasks were, how I never want to go back to that place.

I also find that taking the time to prepare or seek out delicious healthy foods helps tons. I did not feel deprived on my cruise because I had delicious food the whole time. I just chose healthy foods, foods full of protein and fiber and good fats that made me feel full and satisfied my taste buds. Soups can be great, salads can be great, chicken can be great.... These don't have to be things you settle for.

I absolutely agree, PP. I'd rather eat nothing (or kill myself) than only eat food I didn't like! I'm glad to hear you had a gain-free and enjoyable cruise!

Since making the OP I'm down 6 lbs in water weight and my clothes fit better. I've still got some real fat to work off but I feel very motivated at the moment with a renewed internal fire to commit to getting back to where I'd like to be. Just the mental part, "allowing" myself 1500 instead of shooting for 1200, makes the whole thing feel much easier. I'm fairly active and young - there's no reason I need to eat the bare minimum calorie amount when I can lose on 1500.
