Default Post Jamaica vacation - the good news and the bad news

Well, I have returned from my Jamaica vacation. The good news is that all of the flawless people from the brochure and Website were NOT at the resort, so wearing my bikini was not nearly as traumatic as I had anticipated. It was just normal people with normal bodies of all shapes and sizes. The bad news was that I imagine that I have completely undone any weightloss I had achieved. I'm back on track today - 1200 calories + workouts. I'm going to wait 2 weeks of being on plan, then weigh myself. I don't want to completely un-do the rest and relaxation right away..... It's good to be back! Time to get caught up on posts!

Honestly, thanks for making me feel better about my own very imminent vacation replete with bikini. I'm really nervous about it.

Sorry about the weight gain. I think it's really pretty inevitable. I'm going to try my hardest not to gain weight, but we'll see. It's partly all the sodium in the food, I'm sure. Even when I'm active—taking the stairs, going to the gym, engaging in outdoor activities, etc.—it still seems hard to keep the weight off on vacation despite paying attention to how much I eat. But, as I say, I'm going to give it the old college try in just under two weeks.

I kept telling myself - it's only 5 days - do I really want to not try things just to keep my calories down? I didn't. I'm not too upset about the pounds. It can't be more than 5 or so. I will just lose it again, like I've done 100 times over! Lol!

I hope you enjoy your vacation! I'm sure you will look absolutely rockin' in your bikini! Where are you off to?

You're absolutely right. It's a vacation, and the weight comes right back off if you get back on track when you get home. It's important to enjoy the time away. I need to let myself relax a little, I think—just not too much. I tend to let my guard down and just eat more and more as each day passes on a vacation.

I'm off to the Eastern Caribbean—St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Haiti (or, rather, Royal Caribbean's Disneyland version of Haiti), and Puerto Rico.

Wow! That sounds like a great trip! It was funny how the longer I was around all that food, the less and less I really cared about eating it. It didn't taste as good on day 4 as it did on day 1. I'm sure you will do great! It did seem easier to relax when I saw that not everyone else was in the super-model category either.....

Glad you had a fun trip! I gained like a maniac on mine but it only took 2 weeks to get back to pre-vacation weight/fitness level. Welcome back!

Thanks Krampus! It's good to be back! In honor of my return to plan, I bought a little one serving blender so i can start making my own "frozen vacation cocktails." Of course, these dont' have any rum, just protein powder, fruit, etc. 2 weeks is pretty good for getting back to pre-vacation weight! I'll be thrilled if I can do it in a month....
