Default So Proud Yet So Frustrated With Myself

So Monday marked the beginning of my 5th week of exercising (alternating strength and cardio). I am getting to the point where I look forward to it more than I dread it. I have seen such a change in my stamina and last week our driveway was plowed shut by the city plow with a 2 foot pile of hard, packed snow. I was able to shovel about half (with the help of my husband) of the pile without getting tired. My husband was shocked at how far I was throwing the snow and that I was almost able to keep up with him (he is 6ft tall and over 200 lbs and strong). I am so proud of myself .

Now for the frustration. I have not lost a pound. Not one. I know that it has to do with my eating. I have no self-control. I hate veggies. I just can't seem to get myself to make the right choices. I know thats what I need to do but I just can't seem to get out of this bad eating rut. My husband and I have decided that we will only go out to eat once a month and we will eat lunch at home (we own a business and it has been just too easy for us to go out for lunch everyday). I know what I need to do its just the doing it that I am finding hard. I have watched my protions at lunch and dinner and have been really paying attention to if I REALLY am hungery this week. So far so good.

Like I said, I know what I need to do. I just need encouragement and to vent. I have not let the lack of weight loss stop me from exercising. I will overcome this! Thanks for listening.

Go ahead vent away, it does feel good....

BUT what works for me is planning! There's the saying : « Fail to plan, plan to fail. » so that works for me... I make my breakfast, snack and lunch the night before... If there are no leftovers for supper I will marinade chicken, steaks, pork, somekind of protein and get that ready the night before also... I always eat leftovers for lunch...I make myself a container the night before for lunch too... It really is all about planning...

Another thing that helps is to clean out your kitchen, throw out the junk and bring in the clean food, then you have no choice but to eat healthy...

HTH Keep us posted on your progress..... AND for making it to the gym, I love the gym...

I agree with Ilene..Planning is definitely key! Its so easy to make bad choices when you havent planned any healthy ones.
Venting is definitely good and thats why we're here..to support each other!
Congrats on your fitness accomplishments and I'm sure that if you put thtat same effort into your diet you'll see awesome results!
