Need exercise ideas!
Girls,
I've been doing really well sticking to my exercise plan while here at school. But over Christmas break, I really need some cardio ideas. It will be too cold to run many times (or wet or snowy) and we don't have a treadmill or an elliptical machine like I have here at my school's gym. Joining a gym just isn't financially possible and I don't have the time to go to a gym anyway just to work out for 30-some minutes and then turn around and go home. I have a jump rope, and I definitely will continue my free weights and calisthenics once a week and my pilates once a week, but other than that I'm stuck on what to do for exercise. How many of you have exercise DVDs? Which ones do you like and why? Thanks! |
Check out Jillian Michaels' 30-Day Shred. It's a 25 minute workout that will kick your BUTT. It's about $9 on amazon and probably around $11 at Target or Walmart. You need hand weights (or soup cans, bottles of water, etc) and an exercise mat if you are on a hard surface (I've done it on the carpet in a hotel room before).
She is a good motivator, the exercises are designed to get results, and everyone has 25 minutes. I love this dvd and I find that when I'm working so hard that I want to die, I know that there isn't that much left and that I can finish it. Try it!
