I've done Shred before and yes, I got results. However, I don't still do it in the "10 days at level 1, 10 days at level 2, etc." method because I get SO BORED. I can't stand to do the same WO even 2 days in a row, let alone 10! ;)

Nowadays, I keep it in my workout video rotation as an add-on to ~30-40 minutes of other cardio, and I only do it about once a month or so. When I do use it, I'll use level 1 one day, level 2 the next, and so on, with extra stuff in there, too, so it's not just a "blast away like crazy for 20 minutes and do nothing else" day. Even though 30DS is intense, it's just too short for me, so I'd prefer to modify down and do more of something else, too.

Hmmm, after some searching on 3FC I think I'll ask DH to get me a Wii Fit set up for my birthday. Sounds like fun :)

I'm down below the 170's today! Almost couldn't believe it this morning. Hopefully it doesn't pop back up and was a crazy dehydration fluke or something. Got a workout in. This weekend is my stepdaughters bday. She actually choose BBQ chicken with veggies and mashed potatoes for her bday dinner. Nervouse about the chocolate cake we are baking though....

Congrats!!!!

Man, is that my ideal meal. Add in some baked beans and macarroni and I am in heaven!!! :dizzy:

ma26-use applesauce instead of oil, egg beaters instead of whole eggs, and mix low fat flavored yogurt with low fat cool whip (will need to be slightly frozen) for a little bit of a healthier option on the chocolate cake!

Hi all! Here is my October update: I escaped the 130s and I am losing about a half pound a week, according to wii fit. I have some added motivation, too. My long time boyfriend is planning to propose any day now! He is trying to be secretive, but it is really obvious. Yay! Now I can look forward to some dress shopping and if that isn't motivating I don't know what is!

kat999 10-15-2010 09:40 AM

Congratulations on all fronts, kwinkle! How exciting!!! :D :D :D

My little update today: I went waaaaaaay out of control yesterday and this morning. I had sushi for lunch when I normally have a salad or fruit and veggie plate (and though sushi itself is not bad, I just had too much of it). I did a very pitiful, non-cardio challenging workout last night, ate a cheeseburger for dinner (what on earth was I thinking?!), and didn't work out at all this morning. And I wonder why it looks like I'm back up a pound on the scale! Good grief.

Oh, well. I brought my lunch today and will be back to healthy eating and exercising tonight. You can always start back over after a slip-up, right?

LindsB: thank you for the tips! I will try it!

KWINKLE!! CONGRATS!!!!!!!!! What an exciting time in your life! Losing weight, feeling good AND getting engaged! I am so excited for you. Relish in this lovely time of life :)

Kat99- getting back on track is definitely the most important part! I went over on my dinner last night. I worked late so we ate quite late. And I had chips and bean dip last night. And did not measure and count calories. I saw a rise on the scale this morning as a result. Lesson I should really know by now learned yet again. Starting now. This day will be accounted for and successful!

Dianne- Ha ha. Yeah I'm so glad she didn't ask for macaroni and cheese. I would definately have a hard time not overdoing it on that :)

127 this morning, YES!!!! Thank you Jillian Michaels! I made cupcakes with my kids yesterday. Just a box mix of some halloween sprinkle stuff with orange icing and sprinkles. Looked so good all day and then when I finally had one they were just a muffin cup of sugar with no flavor whatsoever. I can't tell you how relieved I was! There's a dozen sitting on the cabinet and I couldn't care less. I'm amazed at how our taste has changed after eating food cooked from scratch for so long. But glad to know it takes more than that junk to drag me off course. :)

Congrats Kwinkle! Sounds like serious motivation to me too.

LindsB 10-15-2010 11:44 AM

Changed- do you LOVE when that happens?! My favorite is when I am craving a certain type of fast food (which I don't eat very often) but once I finally do it doesn't taste good at all...so then I never really crave it again!

Changed 10-15-2010 12:07 PM

I do! Especially when it's something that I used to LOVE and overdo every time. Cupcakes are my favorite but I have a baked goods problem in general. lol At least now it's just GOOD from scratch cupcakes which I refuse to pay for and don't have time to bake often.

Hi Feathers, hope you're all doing better than I am. Over the weekend I went on an epic 6 hour mountain hike and my legs now feel like a couple of Jell-O Jigglers! A couple salty dinners and I'm back up to 134 this morning. I have a feeling much of it is water/poo weight from all the sodium in last night's dinner, but this is getting ridiculous. Back on plan!!!!!!!

Also, I'm a complete noob when it comes to protein. I don't eat meat very often at all but if I have to start eating chicken or fish to get what I need I'm willing to do that. What are some basic foods that are high in protein and easy to find (i.e. that I stand a chance of finding in Japan)?
