So much inspiration here - everyone is doing great!

club, you are down 20 lbs., so you must be doing something right! you may just have hit a plateau. also, it sometimes takes a week or so for our slip-ups to show on the scale. i was counting calories and it wasn't working, so i've cut my carbs way down. if you're stuck, that may help.

mkendrick, fabulous week! wtg! hope i am that successful.

maenad, good for you. that must have been so tough. hope your hard work shows up on the scale.

mayness, wow, great week! and you're so close to your goal!

ilene, running and the gym - impressive! do you run and do strength training on the same days? i do a strength training class 2-3 days a week and am trying to get some cardio on those days as well, but it's tough!

eapleasant, welcome! what is your goal?

yesterday went pretty well. only got in 20 min on the elliptical before my 75 minute body sculpting class, but i usually don't get any cardio on those days, so an improvement. did not eat dinner at all, which was ok since i ate more than planned during the day, including a bag of trail mix that had 30 carbs and 300 calories. did great with the water - actually, all in the form of herbal tea. and i resisted weighing in, which was the toughest.

goals for today:
low-carb
1 hour Zumba! class tonight - very excited - haven't had class in 3 weeks because of the holidays

have a great day, everyone!

I LOVE THURSDAYS!!! 4 weeks in a row my new low has been on Thursday. I worked my butt off yesterday and have sore muscles so I was worried that I would be retaining.

150.4 - down 1.2 lbs this week. That is a VERY good week for me.

natamars 01-08-2010 09:32 AM

Weighed in at exactly 147 this morning, so down 1.2 since I started the challenge. I need to add a new ticker for the challenge.

The extra sugar is my last big hurdle. Worse on the days I am in the office. At home I have a few small squares of dark chocolate to get me through - not much else in the house.

Did great yesterday - 1 hour of Zumba! and didn't eat at all when I got home - just showered, read to my son, and went to bed.

Goals for today:
Water
No pizza(our Friday night treat)
I'm easy on myself on Fridays.

Happy Friday, everyone!

maenad 01-08-2010 12:25 PM

Wednesday the 6th- 1800 calories (no alcohol!!!)
7th- about 1800 again....wed/thurs/fri is my weekend, so i always go over a bit!
today -8th- 1300. pretty good food wise, plus took a long walk. go me!

i am going to weigh in on sunday. I feel a little bloated (TOM), so i want to wait as long as possible! I have to weigh in for the "20 somethings BL" challenge this weekend.... hope i have lost something!

It is tough to do both but I do it all the time, lately though I get an hour or two of rest between the two workouts, so it's not too bad... A few years ago I used to weight train then hop on the treadmill and run...
Glad you enjoyed your Zumba!

No weightloss for me this week  ...

Okay, not weighing yet this week, but I want to check in. I am having a great deal of stress at work and have not been eating well. I'm paying for it in bad skin as well as a chubby midsection. I decided to try to eat for clear skin, starting now! I'm quitting my latte habit (which was non-fat), and also dropping processed carbs. I'm going to up my exercise and positive activities.

Thanks girls!

Hi! I'm new but I think I can still do 10lbs by Valentine's! I started my new, healthy lifestyle Jan 2nd, so I'll count from then. I weigh-in tomorrow, and I'll report back!

shasha12 01-09-2010 08:19 AM

Down 2 lbs exactly!! I hope it all comes off this quickly!

2 down, 8 to go :) What about you??

ennay 01-09-2010 11:22 AM

woooohoooooo! another drop, not much but a little (and below 150!). And after 2 nights in a row of eating out AND a house full of chocolate chip cookies! If I can make it through the TWO birthday parties tomorrow (one kid, one adult) and Mom's night out on Monday I should be golden.

A bit of a "wh.." for me this morning too ... 1 lb.... better than an :frypan: to the head I guess  ... Specially that last night I drank a lot of wine, oh my!!

:cp: to everyone who's down :woohoo:

natamars 01-09-2010 11:53 AM

Friday went well. No pizza or garlic knots - made myself a salad with turkey and cheese, and added some walnuts and just a few raisins for sweetness. Limited myself to one glass of wine too.

Resisted the urge to weigh in this morning - REALLY trying to limit it to Fridays only. Hoping to see a 2 lb. loss by next Friday.

Plan for today:
8AM spin class - made it, and was able to do the whole hour! Very proud of myself because I stopped doing spin when I became pregnant with my son, who is going to be 7 in March.
Low-carb
Lots of water

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

maenad 01-09-2010 01:14 PM

saturday the 9th- I have sucked food wise, done really well water wise....i was at about 1500 calories....so maybe not that bad.... i just have felt so full after each meal today.... need to do less tomorrow.

so i finally weighed in this morning
SW:129.8
CW:125.4
Down 4.4 pounds.

I guess all my hard work has paid off! this week it can only get better!

shasha12 01-10-2010 10:47 AM

Last night my lovely boyfriend sat down next to me with a bag of chips and salsa--one of my many weaknesses--and i thought about looking at the back of the bag at the nutritional info. But instead... I didn't touch the stuff at all!! Haha. Such a triumph for me to have a snack-y type food waived in front of my face and to pass in favor of a healthier option. AND then, a few hours later, he broke out the ice cream--not one of my weaknesses, other than times like this, when I'm trying not to eat everything in the house--and again, I held strong to my weight-loss/healthy lifestyle convictions!

It's nice to finally be able to talk about these small triumphs without boring someone to death (namely said boyfriend, maha). Oh boy!! :)

natamars 01-10-2010 10:59 AM

shasha12, awesome job! stay strong!

did well with the food yesterday until last night. needed something sweet and was out of my dark chocolate, so I ended up having two small cookies.

already did my shopping and got lots of great stuff - salmon, salad, Greek yogurt, nuts, veggies, so I should be prepared for the week.

off to the gym in a few for some cardio - hope everyone has a great day.

3fcuser1058250 01-10-2010 11:19 AM

Shasha -- :bravo: for you ... but I years ago I asked my now DH to just be more mindful of my goals and to not take out junk foods like that when I'm around. It's not good for me and him, but he can eat it when I'm not around. Even eat it in the other room for gosh sakes, not under my nose!! The family now puts all the junk food away from me in the basement now... Out of sight out of mind... Some days I have the power to say no, but other days I just don't ...

I was super good yesterday, but no loss on the scale this morning... I did go for a chilly run this morning though for 30 minutes....
