Default Do you still obsess over food?

Hi everyone,

I'm new here. I've struggled with my weight all my life. I'm 24 years old and I've seen doctors and pshycologists since I was 10, just to treat my weight problem.

Now, I've learnt many many things (from nutrition to deeper psychological things... nothing out of the ordinary, just being a human being). And for a year now, I've felt that I've overcome my food addiction. That voice in my head is gone. I don't need to overeat anymore. In the last year I've moved from my home country to the US, I've gotten married and finished school. All these changes that years ago would have made me gain a ton of weight, came and went with me not putting on a pound. And I am so proud of myself.

The problem is that I want to come to the end of the road, and lose the last 20 lbs (although, BMI-wise, it would do with me losing only 2 lbs.). But I don't want to think about losing weight or food anymore. What was a constant struggle to me now annoys me. I don't obsess over food anymore, I don't eat junk, I can stop after one piece of chocolate or one slice of pizza and I don't have craving anymore.

I thought about joining weight watchers or some kind of group, but I decided against it because I've been there and done that. i know 90% of the ppl in the group will spend most of the time talking about how mcuh they like some food and how to amke a low calorie version. And that's ok, it's part of the journey. I just feel I'm a step ahead and I have made healthy eating a part of my life, as well as exercising.

I am sorry if what I'm saying doesn't make much sense. I guess basically I'm just hoping I will find a group of people to go through the weight loss journey without thinking about weight or having food-addiction thoughts...

That's fantastic news.

Honestly, if you eat healthy, and don't overeat, the only thing you need to do is exercise. Cardio, cardio, cardio!
