Featherweights Plan and Chat -- October !!

Good morning!

OK here's my assessment for the last three weeks. I'm averaging between 1300 and 1400 cals. I've gone well over my exercise ticker and ... and ... I've lost 7.4 pounds!!

Have a good October everyone!

lekshmiprasanth 10-01-2009 06:06 AM

Oh God, Congratulations Susan!!! :) It really shows you did well.

srmb60 10-01-2009 06:14 AM

Come along with me Lekshmiprasanth! It's exciting and I'm pumped :lifter:

lekshmiprasanth 10-01-2009 06:18 AM

I so love to. I am trying hard now. I went for walking & jogging for yesterday too. :)

Sodiumlightbaby 10-01-2009 06:34 AM

Hello all, I'm just going to jump in here. Congrats Susan on your loss. Right now, I can't find much time for exercise. I get up at 5:45 to get my oldest on her school bus, then I get my toddler ready for daycare, then we leave. I also work at the daycare, so I have a fairly active job, working with four year olds. After work, I pick up the girls and head home with hubby. Cook dinner, spend time with the girls. Put them to bed, pass out an hour later and start it all again the next day. So, I am starting off slow and maybe I can squeeze in some exercise when I am on a better track. I am going to make myself some small goals, this seems to work for me.

For the next two weeks.

I will drink 4 glasses of water a day.
I will stop eating after dinner.
I will cut my portions by 25%.
I will seriously think before shoving food in my gullet due to habit and boredom.
I will be accountable and check in here daily.

I think I can handle this. Thanks for having me guys!
Dana

Featherweights Plan and Chat -- October !!

WHOA time flies.............. October already... So what's the plan Feathers, we need to get through Thanks Giving first then Christmas :faint: ....

I measured last night and I was a half inch bigger EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!

My plan is to STAY ON PLAN :frypan: through the weekend specially....

Exercise more :faint: as if I can do more  but maybe increasing intensity is key for me...

:coach: NEXT!!!!!!!!!!

jayjay77 10-01-2009 09:36 AM

Hi Featherweights! My plan in October is to run outside more to take advantage of the beautiful fall weather.

ShrinkingAmy 10-01-2009 11:21 AM

Hey Everyone. I'm working to lose 10lbs this month. I've joined the October Weight loss and Exercise challenges to help motivate me. I have worked out every day this week so far, although last night I got 10 minutes in and quit - but then rethought that decision and got back to it for another 20 minutes. Part of my exercise goals is to start the C25K and so I plan to do that today while my kiddo is taking her nap (and daddy is here to watch her).

Congrats Susan on your loss for September - I saw your post on the September board. Way to Go!

I hope everyone has a great day and an awesome October!
~Amy

Robsia, you asked what size I am. It varies from shop to shop. Dresses usually a 10, jeans a 10 or 12.

ICUwishing 10-01-2009 12:57 PM

Happy October! It's a beautiful month in MI when it's not raining, so I'm going to get started with a little walking/running, and get back into the pool at least twice a week.

I'm in a Halloween challenge with my 40+ chickies, and I intend to hit the end of my ticker by then. I promised myself an iPod Touch at 150.0 and my DS10 is cheering me along (he wants to play with it, of course). Not sure about what to do after 150 - there's still going to be fat to remove and muscle to build. Maybe move to an inch-reduction mode ...

srmb60 10-01-2009 06:25 PM

I think I'm catching that bug from Meg. A whole new month!

I'm pumped. This is going very well.

Measuring ... hmmm ... I have that recorded somewhere. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow after work.

bargoo 10-01-2009 06:37 PM

Congratulations, Susan on a great loss !

3fcuser1058250 10-01-2009 11:23 PM

Today wasn't as good calorie wise but I was just so ravenous all day, I think it's because yesterday was leg day and I worked them pretty hard so I was needing extra food... It was all clean food but 1800 cals of it

AR4life 10-01-2009 11:40 PM

:carrot: wow Susan!

I am still walking, I take the dogs everyday, and am moving at a fast clip. Today I ran all over the park with them :) felt good.

I am eating well but seem to be losing a bit of weight, my body does this as the weather cools. I am now 128lbs and holding.

Funny that all my weight is centered in my mid section so when a pound comes off it makes a big difference in my jeans, they get looser.

Here's to a nice fall so we can be outside running and walking :)

srmb60 10-02-2009 05:14 AM

Good morning!

I'm starting to see changes in my clothing too. Not enough to buy new things, just enough to feel that my stuff is getting big.

lekshmiprasanth 10-02-2009 05:55 AM

Yes, Same for me too Susan. I notice some changes, but not enough for changing my size yet :)

Done well yesterday too. Have a good Friday everyone!!

ICUwishing 10-02-2009 08:58 AM

I surprised myself by getting outside and walking for 42 minutes at a pretty good clip. DS10 was at swim practice and I couldn't stand the thought of sitting in the bleachers. I'd have gone longer but it was getting dark! I'll only have a couple of weeks to do this because the time change is coming and it'll be even darker ... but it did feel good to be outside. Time to wrestle the treadmill out of the corner, I guess!

3fcuser1058250 10-02-2009 09:07 AM

Good mornin' girls TGIF !! It's nice that it's Friday but for me that means the danger zone when it comes to food and wine  .... DH is on call though so this would be the best weekend not to drink, no temptations, we don't go out... The only temptation is if my GF comes over....I'll do the best I can...

ICU -- Good for you for getting out and walking ...

Let's be careful out there !!

mandi<3 10-02-2009 10:11 AM

My last 15 pounds are driving me crazy...it's really true that they are the hardest to lose. The scale seems to hover between 143 and 145...it dipped down to 141, but i think 1200 calories was causing my body to cling to every calorie. I've started exercising more, but it doesn't seem to help.

Yesterday i had a bad day, and i was tired of seeing the scale refusing to move. I had a really really bad eating day. The first time in a while i let counting go out the window. I didn't binge though...which makes me feel like i've improve. I'm also back on track today...but up 2 pounds :(

I feel like i should be upping my calories to more 1200..but i'm scared to go over that number. I need to bust through this plateau!!!

ShrinkingAmy 10-02-2009 05:20 PM

Happy Friday Feathers! I've done well this week with workouts and eating... but tonight we're going out for Mexican... and I absolutely cannot resist cheese dip... And I usually have a brew or two, too... oye vey! I always do my workouts after my LO goes to bed so my goal is to not stuff myself sick so I can still get in a good workout tonight! I'm going to try to only eat half of what they put on my plate. Grand Cayman is just around the corner - less than 5 weeks away - so I'm going to try to keep that in mind while we're out.

srmb60 10-03-2009 02:24 PM

In my hunt for a uniform with long pants (under the bed in boxes), I found a pair of jeans that fits!! So my wardrobe just grew by one set of small scrubs that I had tailored to fit and one pair of size 6 jeans!! :dancer:

WOW :woohoo: that's awesome size 6 jeans !!!

Amy -- How was your Friday night Mexican outing?

Mandi -- instead of more calories can you intensify your workouts?

I did have wine last night plus my day food wise wasn't great, but I'm back on track today, eventhough I didn't exercise yet, I did informal exercise like housework  ... Food is spot on so far today too... I made a lentil casserole  tastes like baked beans so we're having that for supper along with broccoli and salmon, can't wait :D

srmb60 10-04-2009 05:25 AM

Morning!

I ran into a small problem with banana cream pie and wine last night  Calories yesterday ... not so good.

bargoo 10-04-2009 09:14 AM

I hate it when that banana cream pie jumps right off the plate into my mouth !!

srmb60 10-04-2009 06:06 PM

Banana cream pie ... the cheekiest of all pies.

AR4life 10-04-2009 06:48 PM

Angel food cake for dessert tonight, my daughter's birthday and she ordered it.

Mostly a housework day with family coming for dinner tonight but got the dogs walked already.

I'm going to see if I can maintain my 128lbs for the week before I change the ticker. I've lost 2 inches in my hips and 1" in my waist though :carrot:

Have a productive week :)

ShrinkingAmy 10-04-2009 08:52 PM

Ilene - Mexican is my weakness... I had one brew and I ordered a shrimp & black bean burrito... which sounds relatively healthy... till they bring it out smothered in melted cheese! I ate about half of it then just picked the remaining shrimp out and at them without all the other stuff. When I got home, I was able to pull off a pilates workout then did another 10min stretch workout because I was so sore from a kickboxing workout from the previous day.

Yesterday I was an "off day" workout wise, and I noticed I eat worse on those days. Today I behaved - got in one workout so far (one more to go tonight) and ate relatively well. Not sure how weigh-in will be tomorrow... we shall see. If I can remember, I'm going to have DH measure me too to compare to my early Sept stats.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

srmb60 10-05-2009 05:42 AM

Good morning!

Considering that it was the weekend (and I usuallly do very badly) yesterday was pretty good. Calories were good, I exercised and I slept very well.

I keep forgetting to do my measurements.

Sodiumlightbaby 10-05-2009 08:12 AM

Morning all, was not around for the weekend, my mom was in town, baking and cooking, yay! So that was a bust. But, October is here and my goal is 6lbs this month. I am going to New Orleans in November and can't afford to buy new clothes for the trip, so I must fit into old ones!!!

Have a great day all!

lekshmiprasanth 10-05-2009 09:57 AM

I was down with fever for last couple of days. :( and lost a lot of weight in 2 days. But I am sure I'm to regain it all. So nothing exciting about it.. :)

I wont jog today, but went for a walking for 30 minutes. Will on track tomorrow :)
Will you all a nice day!!

3fcuser1058250 10-05-2009 10:45 PM

lekshmiprasanth -- Hope you feel better soon

Today was a good food day  .... I also made it to the gym :strong:

Now time for bed  Nite girls

Robsia 10-06-2009 03:00 AM

Poor couple of weeks for me - My fiancé and I polished off a bottle of wine that had been give to us to celebrate our engagement. There was also chocolate and too much bad food and I put on 2 lb!! Almost got back to ticker this morning - 136.4!

I also found out I didn't get into the 2010 London marathon :(

But there is another one not far from me in May next year so I am going to try for that one. Not televised and not as high profile as the London one - but it's still 26.2 miles. I officially started my marathon training programme again yesterday also. I have been running of course since we got back from Spain but had to ease back into it gently after a month off.

srmb60 10-06-2009 05:18 AM

Good morning!

How is Lekshmiprasanth? Feeling better?

Any marathon impresses me Robsia.

Sodiumlightbaby 10-06-2009 07:06 AM

Hope you are feeling better Lekshiprasanth.

I'm with Susan Robsia, I'm impressed with your efforts.

Yesterday started out great, as it usually does, but I finished it with a slice of homemade apple pie and ice cream. The good news is that is the last slice!

Today I plan to up my water content, down my portions by %25 and not eat after dinner!

lekshmiprasanth 10-06-2009 11:09 AM

Hi Ilene, Susan & Sodiumlightbaby.

Yes, I am better now and started having hunger!!! I couldn't resist and ate two breads already. :( I know I have to reduce the white bread, oh, but it was too much. I tried to have the salad, but I didn't feel full after it. I was in college and I used to bring my lunch, and this time I felt too less. I hope its only the aftereffect of the fever and I surely overcome it once I restart jogging again.

Hope you having a wonderful day!!

ShrinkingAmy 10-06-2009 09:16 PM

Today has been not so good - I was out running around and forgot to eat lunch before I left the house and found my car pulling into KFC! But I made up for it this evening by making chicken stirfry for dinner. I also finished Week 1 of C25K! Whooo Hooo! I plan to do 30 minutes of strenght trainining here in the next 15 minutes or so, too.

Lekshiprasanth - Glad you're feeling better!
Robsia - I'm with the others - any marathon is impressive!

MandyT 10-06-2009 10:06 PM

Hey, everyone! I'm new, just joined yesterday! I talk a lot so you'll probably be hearing from me often :)

Today was blah! I felt sick all day. Kept my eating under control but didn't get my exercise in like I wanted to..just did a little dancin' around the living room to Britney & Lady Gaga ;) Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day w/ no headachs!

P.S. I can't wait for my 20 days to be up so I can put my ticker on my posts!

srmb60 10-07-2009 05:13 AM

Good morning!

Hi new folks!

I'm doing all right this week! Tomorrow is assessment day. Get ready for your weekly yawn. I really must remember to measure.

Sodiumlightbaby 10-07-2009 08:08 AM

Welcome Mandy

Well I had my first good day yesterday!! I hit almost all my goals except drinking water. Today is going to be great!

Dana

3fcuser1058250 10-07-2009 08:12 AM

G'mornin' all and :welcome: Mandy

Yesterday was good and was down 2lbs, no applause, this happens every week... The trick is to keep it off through the weekend and this weekend is Canadian :turkey: weekend  ... So it's gonna be a difficult one... I know it's only Wednesday but I'm getting psyched for it already...
