Planning and Chat March 16th - 22

So Saturday was good despite having guests over for dinner AND making a dessert. Came in around 2000 calories which I think is quite good for a dinner party day. Sunday on the other hand...ugh, I kept nibbling at the leftover dessert all day...probably ended up at 2600-2700.

Part of the problem is I had some of the leftover dinner for lunch. It is really healthy but more carby than I usually have that early in the day. Spiral spiral spiral.

Su-Bee 03-16-2009 02:44 PM

Well, my little splurge on Saturday night caused my weight to shoot up a whopping FIVE POUNDS, and despite being on-plan (& actually a bit low on calories) all day yesterday, as of this morning, none of that has released yet! Crazy, crazy. But for me, it definitely points to the need for daily weighing - right now, I know this weight is not real. If, on the other hand, I had Mondays as my only weigh-in day, I'd be a bit freaked out!

Robsia 03-16-2009 03:41 PM

I went up 2 lb over the weekend - gutted!! Ridiculous how these weekends just throw me off track. I can eat well at home but when I go to bf's house, I can't seem to. And yet I didn't think I'd been that bad. Maybe some of it is TOM water weight.

Robsia 03-17-2009 02:47 AM

This morning I was down a bit, so I'm back to where I was last Monday. My goal right now is only half a pound a week so if I can lose a pound between now and next Monday I'm still on track. But this can't happen every weekend!!

Su-Bee 03-17-2009 08:02 AM

I'm down 2 of the 5 pounds I went up this weekend...my rings are still snug, so there's definitely a bit of water weight left in there!

One thing I noticed this weekend is that my arms are looking really good lately. It was the first time in a while I've worn short sleeves, & I guess I just hadn't looked at my arms in some time - I was impressed! Loving my muscle tone. Loving even more that I'm currently doing all my muscle work through yoga, which I really enjoy, & it's having this effect.

michelinwoman 03-18-2009 02:14 PM

Back again....Some of you may remember me from about 6 mo or 1 yr ago...I fell off the wagon a bit. I'm planning on seeing this thing through once and for all though! :carrot:

Su-Bee 03-18-2009 02:33 PM

Welcome back, Michelinwoman!

I am having a HUNGRY day today. I've already eaten about 200 more calories than is usual for this time of day (which is a lot when you're cutting back...), & am TRYING to hold out until dinner without snacking again. I've just started my TOM, which is no doubt part of it...

On the bright side, down another pound this morning...only 2 more until I'm back to where I was before the weekend. It's so crazy - it was ONE CHEAT MEAL, not a whole freaking cheat WEEKEND - but it is just sticking with me!

bargoo 03-18-2009 06:35 PM

Welcome back and good luck!

JadeBlue14 03-18-2009 07:40 PM

Ok, this time i am back on the boards. I'm hoping hearing how you all are doing will help me break through this plataeu. I've been bouncing back and forth between 141.5 and 144 for the past month. I've been busy and sick, so exercise went out the window. Now that things have calmed down, I am going to the gym at least twice a week, and am totally back on plan this week. Hopefully once I'm done TOM, I'll see the scale move a little.
on the plus side, while I've stayed the same weight wise, my legs are looking awesome from my attempts at running.

Su-Bee 03-19-2009 09:14 AM

Hi Jade, & welcome back! :)

dilleight 03-19-2009 10:15 AM

Grr I'm doing rubbish today keep eating the snacks around in the office. I seem to be in self sabotage mode because I lost weight earlier this week.

alinnell 03-19-2009 11:55 AM

Would someone PLEASE kick me?

After last weekend, where I knew the food would be difficult as we were out of town, I feel like I'm just continuing the trend. Sunday we went out to dinner to celebrate my birthday. I had lasagna and salad and wine and bread. No dessert and I didn't stuff myself. And my weight didn't change from the previous, so that's all good.

But for whatever reason I've been continually failing at my attempts to re-lose the 20ish pounds I've put on over the past couple of years. I've been adding unnecessary calories. Chips and salsa before dinner. Candy here and there. Too many glasses of wine. It's just got to stop!

Robsia 03-19-2009 12:43 PM

Here you are: :kickbutt:

I have about another 10 to go so I know how you feel. Weekends seem to kick my *** ATM as I go to my OH's at weekends and he feeds me, which is always a disaster diet-wise. Whatever I lose M-F I always seem to have put on again by the time Monday rolls around. And this Sunday we have a big Mother's Day meal out which makes it even harder.

Robsia 03-19-2009 12:44 PM

Whoops, didn't realise we weren't allowed to mention kicking donkeys here . . .

I always forget that's considered a rude word.

alinnell 03-19-2009 12:50 PM

Thanks Robsia. Now lets hope my sore butt will stay in line!

Su-Bee 03-19-2009 12:57 PM

I am finally, as of this morning, back to the weight I was before the party on Saturday night. Whew! Now to just keep the scale going in the right direction from here...

MonteCristo 03-19-2009 02:07 PM

My weight finally dropped after hanging at 157 for over two weeks. Yesterday the scale read 154.4, so now I am officially normal! (BMI) Only 18 more pounds to go!!!!!

Su-Bee 03-19-2009 02:24 PM

Yeah, MonteCristo! Normal BMI rocks!

sweet_talker 03-19-2009 04:35 PM

Hey all I know I'm a little tardy this week on the chat, and I flit in and out of 3fc like nobody's business but hi!

:bravo: MonteCristo!! Nice work. Keep going Su-Bee! And Allison, I was having the same problem as you with just having a little bit here and there and just recently it was completely impeding my weight loss, soooo for the past week and a bit I've been writing down EVERYTHING that I eat and I hate writing down stupid like things like "4 mini eggs" or "8 wine gums" so it's been making me not eat them. Maybe you could try writin' 'em down too?

michelinwoman 03-19-2009 05:31 PM

Know exactly how you feel...I'm having a rather unpleasant TOM visit myself. It makes it really hard to exercise and also makes me crave sweets. Hopefully some of this bloat will be gone and will make the scale move in the right direction on Monday (my weigh in day).

ennay 03-19-2009 05:43 PM

OK, so I had a good day foodwise yesterday...no binging, no desire to binge was satisfied on a normal amount of food. Had more energy too, although I over did it with that and am wiped out today. The difference was I upped my fat and carbs and lowered my protein. I'm still getting tons of protein, but adding a little more carb and fat, a little less protein and a little less volume actually.

I definitely do better if I keep fat up around 35%. I've seen that consistantly. But I also think I might need to do something along the lines of carb cycling. Eat a high protein breakfast for a few days, then have a more moderate breakfast for a few days. I've seemed more satisfied the last 2 days on less, less binge urge etc.

JadeBlue14 03-19-2009 07:02 PM

I get in ruts like that. Once I slip once, it seems even harder to stay, or even get back on track.
i went to the gym today, so i'm feeling pretty good. managed twice this week, and will try again on saturday.
Hang in there guys!

Robsia 03-20-2009 03:47 AM

Oh yeah!! 135.4!! I haven't weighed this low since just after Christmas and that was with a laxative inside me!!! This one is genuine!

MonteCristo 03-20-2009 09:06 AM

Robsia - Great Job on getting back to that low!

Su-Bee 03-20-2009 10:14 AM

Yay Robsia!

I am once again bloated...only up 3 pounds this time...which I know is not real weight, simply a strange reaction I have whenever I eat popcorn. I should just learn & remove popcorn from my acceptable snacks list, but sometimes I really need that feeling of being able to eat a LOT of something for not many calories!

Today, I'm having Indian food for lunch w/ some girlfriends. We placed the order yesterday...I figure I will eat small portions of the chicken tikka, aloo gobi (cauliflower & potatoes) & maybe the bhartha (eggplant - although eggplant soaks up so much oil so easily that I'm kind of scared of eating a restaurant version) & count it as about 650-700 calories - does that sound like it might be about right? I'll add another 200 if I succumb to temptation & have 1/2 piece of naan, but I am going to try really hard NOT to do that!

Have a great day, everybody!

MonteCristo 03-20-2009 01:45 PM

My coworkers decided to get Mexican for lunch. :faint: I have the hardest time controlling myself there. But today I was so good! I ordered the chicken fajitas, with no sides and no tortillas, just the chicken, peppers and onions, and I only ended up eating about half of it! I'm so proud of myself! :carrot:

Su-Bee 03-20-2009 03:12 PM

I did AWESOME at lunch. Skipped the naan, & there was a green salad, so I filled half my plate w/ that before adding the other items. Even allowing for some mystery ingredients...I honestly don't think I went over 500 calories! :) Go me!

Robsia 03-22-2009 07:28 AM

Well, my OH finally got some batteries for his scales so I was able to weigh myself over the weekend at his house. It's funny - simply knowing the scales were there made me much more accountable to myself and I was really good, even though he tempted me with cherry pie again!! I didn't lose over the weekend - I stayed the same, but at least his scales showed the same as mine.

However, today is Mothers Day here in the UK and we are going out for a family meal this afternoon. I am going to try not to go completely mad but I imagine it will be up a bit on Monday.

michelinwoman 03-22-2009 10:31 PM

Okay...so I couldn't wait until Monday to do my weigh in. I hopped on the scale this morning and it was 150.2! Not to shabby from 155.6 when I started on 3/12. I've been hungry since then :)

Robsia 03-23-2009 05:32 AM

WTG Michelinwoman!! That's really good going.

Well, I was chuffed to find this morning that I was only up 0.2 after Mothers Day yesterday.

I had a small bar of chocolate that DD1 had bought me for my present (along with a stuffed bunny rabbit - bless. She's only 7 and has been saving her pocket money!). I also treated myself to a bar of chocolate at lunch time as they were on 3 for £1 at Tesco. So one for DD1, one for me and one for my OH, which he proceeded to leave in my fridge as he hardly eats chocolate!

Then yesterday afternoon we were all going out for a meal - my parents, me and my OH, my 2 kids, HIS parents and my sister and her four kids. It was very nice. We didn't eat till 4pm so it was either a late lunch or an early dinner - lol! But I had forestiere chicken which was grilled chicken breast with mushroom and white wine sauce with button and forest mushrooms served with fries and baby carrots. It was delicious! And for dessert I choe profiteroles and when they came there were two HUGE profiteroles both the size of a saucer!! Filled with whipped cream, and served with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. I polished off the lot!

But then I had nothing else all day so that was basically all I ate all day, so that's not too bad actually.

But I have to be good now till Easter. I know my OH has bought me a Baileys egg as I saw it in his back room! Normally I would buy myself one, but I won't this year. If I'm to be 9 stone by August, I can't be pigging on Easter eggs.

dilleight 03-23-2009 10:38 AM

Everyone seems to be doing really well this week! Robsia, michelinwoman, Su-Bee, MonteCristo (it's nice to be in the normal BMI range). This morning I saw 139.25 which was nice. I have been jumping around quite a lot so I might be back over 140 again by tomorrow. My scales also said I was under 28% fat but I don't know how accurate that is as it seems to change all the time. I certainly look more than 28% fat!
