Default You should try this, it's pretty interesting

I saw this done some time ago on the t.v show 'What not to wear' and decided to give it a whirl myself. What you do is draw a rough sketch of what you think your body shape is against the wall, height/width and all- you could put a large sheet of paper on the wall so not to mark it (we just moved to a a new place and are about to paint anyway) or do it on the garage drywall. Then stand against the wall (in your drawing).......you have someone else trace around your body shape with a pencil (stay very still) then step away from the wall and see what size you really are.

I drew myself MUCH larger compared to the actual trace of my body. It's amazing how we see ourselves. My boyfriend drew himself exactly right......maybe it's a female thing

Just don't let your young kids see you sketching on the walls or there will be lot's of "But, Mummy was doing it!"

I think women tend to see themselves as larger than they really are and men tend to see themselves as smaller. Read something about that re weight too. We tend to guess 10 lbs. over what we weigh (as if any woman wouldn't know her weight within 2-3 lbs. ) and men tend to guess 10-15 lbs. less.

I'm going downstairs to get my brown paper out now and give this a try. Oops, guess I'll have to wait until (the long-suffering) DH gets home to help with the experiment (he's a little tired of 3FC/diet stuff right now).

i remember that episode. i'm probably guilty of it since i tend to think that i am much larger than i actually am (at least it depends on how much time i've spent taking care of myself on a particular day)

This sounds like a fun experiment. I am going to try it tonight and get back to you with my results.
