Well I think a fair few featherweights weren't featherweights to begin with, so your question may get a few different answers! I'd say before you notice a visual difference probably about 10 lbs on the average, but you'll probably notice smaller things sooner.
I had a hard time noticing any change in myself. Seemed like the scale was moving, but nothing was happening. Then when people I worked with really started noticing, I started believing it really was happening.
I'm still kicking myself for not taking a before picture. I've heard so many great things about how taking pictures of yourself can help you visualize the difference.
The other thing you can do to really get a handle on the progress you're making is to try on an outfit every couple of weeks and really pay attention to how the fit is changing.
By the way, I know exactly how you feel. I can't tell you how much time I spent searching "how many lbs to lose one waist inch" or "how many lbs to lose a dress size."
The unfortunately reality is it really is going to depend on your body. I can tell you if you stick to it, you will see change, and four lbs is a great start!
Kind of depends on how tall you are too. If you're tall, each pound is spread out over more "area" so is actually a thinner layer and can take longer to notice it has left.

I seem to have lost a size in clothes after losing about 8lb but it may be less for you because you're a lot shorter. Well done anyway, 4lb is not to be sniffed at!
I lost 10-12 pounds over the last year and kept it off thru proper eating, cardio, and weight lifting. More than the weight lost, it was the inches lost that made it noticeable first to other people, then to me. When you go from a size 14 pants to a size 10, you gotta buy new clothes! I hate to shop but the pants literally were falling off me.
15lb for me. I actually do not see any difference at all, but others did at 15lb lost. I started at 165 about 5 years ago, and slowly over the years got down to 150ish (this is without exercise just cutting out sodas, fast food etc). Right now for the past 3 months I have bounced between 138 and 144. I cannot seem to get lower then 138, but my ultimate goal is 125, I might drop to 120, we'll see. For me, I'm a size 6/7, and as I'm pear shaped, the thighs/butt will come off last (if they do at all). I worked out for a month straight and didn't see any difference, so who knows. I think it's every person is different, but for me, 15lb I'd say.
IMO it's different for everyone - some people see the difference immediately, whether it's in their face, stomach, etc. For others, it takes longer. Sometimes we might even lose weight, look different, and STILL see the same image in the mirror because we are so used to seeing ourselves as "fat."
For now, just focus on eating healthy and exercising regularly...you might not see a true change, but soon your clothes will definitely feel looser or simply sit better on your frame. It might take up to 10lbs before you really notice a change! The important thing is that no matter what image you see in the mirror, you have to KEEP GOING and don't give up!!
I think it helps to ask (ahead of time) those closest to you to point out even the smallest changes that they notice in you. I've lost 4 lbs as well (and I'm also vertically challenged. . I round up and tell people I'm 5'4 ) and I don't see much of a difference, but my bf and my gym buddy both telling me my arms are smaller and more toned and my jawline is more prominant helped me start to feel like I really am making a difference in my body.
Just keep up the hard work and the changes will start to be noticed, both by you and by others. Good luck!!
