Thumbs up New season, goals

I lost a lb. last week. The weekend thread really helped - thanks Ilene!

I have made my first two appointments with my trainer so I'm excited about that starting on April 15. I also have a stability ball routine that I'm going to try tonite, instead of the TV .

Other than that I'm still aiming to get down to 125ish and then rebuilding 5 lbs of muscle. I'm also starting to take waist/hip measurements. They were 27/38 this morning. I think I'd like to try to get them to 25/36 .

Have a great day everyone!

Dagmar

Dagmar! Way to go! Congrats on your weight loss... The Weekend Club works! I too lost weight this weekend. I am down a lb and a half! Looking forward to having a good week - and next weekends "challenge"

Morning!

I hated March an awful, awful, awful horrible month this year. I'm really looking forward to April just to get away from it. YUCK!

Ooooo that does feel better!

Hey! Does a strawberry/whey protein shake ever taste good! Who knew? Who knew?

Greetings ladies! Happy MOnday!
I had a rough weekend, TOM just sucker punched me. I don't know why but the symptoms normally accompanying a period left me unscathed for most of my life....until now...they've become steadily worse. At first it was just heavy duty cramping and general malise....this weekend I also had full blown nausea (I am NOT pregnant!), debilitating stomach cramps...so much so that I thought I had a touch of food poisoning.

I feel much recovered today and am back on the weights wagon.

Good morning. Just a quick note to check in. I'm nursing a sore back today which I got giving the doggies their spring baths. I've never had a backache so bad before!

I'm glad it's going to be a new month--March sucked in weight loss terms.

Hello All!
I joined TFC last July but am just getting back into posting. I really love the idea of a weekly accountability/planning thread.
I haven't quite decided on a specific "plan" yet, (am thinking it'll probably be just "healthy" foods-- staying away from processed crap, white flour & sugar-- and exercise.) I'm 155 right now and would like to tone up and lose about 30 lbs. It feels like a lot to me, but I understand that for some people on a journey of 100+, it might look like small change.

Am hoping to be inspired by all of you.

Happy new week and month!

~Alexis

Hi All. Well, it looks like the past 2 weeks of not exercising and eating a bit off plan has reared it's ugly head in the form of 2 lbs. It is also TOM, so I'm not going to get discouraged but get get right back into it instead. I did 3 Jazzercise classes since Saturday and got back on plan today. April is another new beginning.

Did the weekend thing, and while I didn't lose I didn't gain either. Also got a little exercise in Saturday and today .

I really need to stick close to 3fatchicks as I have a lot to lose (or should I say re-lose ). I ate pretty good today although I feel like I'm retaining a lot of water. I think I'll really keep a watch on my salt intake tomorrow and hope it drops off. I always drink alot of water so hopefully my body will release the water tomorrow.

Hope everyone has a great OP week!

Talking Welcome Alexis and Hey! everyone else

Alexis.

SusanB I generally drink soy protein based shakes instead of whey. Apparently (my DH did a lot of research on this) the whey protein is geared more towards the male body composition and soy more toward the female. I have strawberry or vanilla and DH always has chocolate. All tasty!

Lekhika Depending on your age, you may be entering perimenopause. Yes, that's right, not only do we have to go through menopause, but there's an initial 2-5 years preamble to it with it's own lovely symptoms. I got through that with just additional vitamins B12 and C.

Ilene Go girl! You're a regular gym rat!

Allison Labs are BIG dogs. I find the plastic wading pool is a really good bathing spot, provided you can keep 'em in it! Hope you feel better soon.

abbyin Maintaining is good. And you got some exercise in. You are hard on yourself in most of your posts. I think you are really trying - this dieting stuff is hard!

And to everyone who was, like me, motivated enough by the weekend thread to maintain or lose - CONGRATS!!!

Welcome Alexis and hi all!

new month (my BIRTHDAY month!), new season (spring, FINALLY), new goals? I desperately want to be in my "skinny pants," one size down, by my birthday on the 29th. I don't care about my weight as a number, i'm intent on the skinny jeans that mock me every time i open the drawer. I also put up a new avatar - a reminder that last april i ran a 5k in 27.5 minutes. While that ain't gonna happen again this year, i have to remember to hit the gym and keep running because i'm still doing the race this year even though my time won't be as good.

I'm getting spring fever if only it would get WARM here!! I'm excited to go downtown this weekend because all the shops and art galleries are open late the first friday of every month and for once it falls on my friday off work. Between now and Friday... well... I just submitted my grad school applications and i am on pins and needles wondering how soon they'll be recieved and i'll hear back, etc., plus I'm taking a physics course (post-bacc fun. or insanity. who needs a second semester of physics, anyway? seriously.) and we have an exam on wednesday. on my applications it'll be listed as in progress so i know my grade doesn't matter, but i'm a perfectionist and of course it matters to me.

I'm inspired by everyone's successes with the weekend maintaining/losing thread. next weekend i will definitely have to join.

Lekhika, I feel your TOM pain, although unfortunately it's always been that way for me. Glad you're getting through it - really, thank goodness it's only a few days a month!

alright, hopefully i'll get to sleep - i'm still coming off the adreneline rush of sending out my applications. have a great week and think spring!
