Hi girls,

I just wanted to start this for Dagmar, since she won't be able to. Hope everyone survived Super Bowl munchies. We are not that into football, so we declined invites to the annual parties, which was good for me (I have a very hard time resisting dips and snack foods). We watched a bit of the game - the end was great.

I made salmon last night for the first time - we had broccoli (steamed), roasted potatoes and onions, slaw, and the baked salmon - not bad! I stayed just under 1400 calories, which is my calorie goal. Also got in a good walk yesterday.

I'm very sleep today, so I may need to get to bed early tonight. Hope everyone has a happy and healthy Monday!

Morning!

I slept like a rock last night. I still feel muzzy and have a dental appt in about an hour. Ugh! What a way to start a week.

Oh, Susan. If I recall, you despise going to the dentist. Good luck (hope it's nothing major!)

I did NOT survive the Super Bowl munchies Oh well, moving on today.

I worked yesterday from midnight until 10 am and then went to a Super Bowl party and didn't go to bed until 10 pm at which point I had been up for 24 hours I was beat! I think after I get done with my exercise today I 'm going to lounge around doing a bunch of nothing!

Susan-good luck at the dentist. I seem to remember you hate it as much as I do. I know I'm pathologically afraid of the dentist

Everyone else have a great day. Jane

I managed a cleaning without my little pill. I was so groggy when I got up I thought it would be pretty psych-y to take a pill! But I will need one when they fill my little cavity.

The receptionist was funny .... "Christmas ... gives you holes in your teeth and lumpy thighs."

I'm glad someone slept well. I sure didn't. I wish I could go home now, but there's too much work to be done.

I survived superbowl--I made chili verde with black beans and served it with ww tortillas. I didn't over eat, either, but my weight is up regardless. I think it was due to sleeping bad!!

I didnt survive the SBM's either...which is too bad because I was only there for the last part of the game, but the munchies were in MY HOUSE .

I wasnt involved at all, I took the day off, left the kids and responsibility for SB food to dh, went shopping in downtown Portland (2 pairs new running shoes, 2 pairs running pants, a foam roller for calf work, a new reflective vest for night running and some gu) then went to barnes & nobles and got 3 books with a gift card and went to TGIF's BY MYSELF and read and had a lovely late lunch/early dinner. Didnt eat super low cal but not overeating either. All in all I still had about 6-800 calories left for the day and I wasnt that hungry....got home and ate the house down.

I don't watch football and my SO isn't interested in the superbowl unless the 49ers are playing (and he's not into snacking while watching TV even if he were watching the game), so no superbowl food-related crises at my house. Luckily someone reminded me about the Superbowl on Friday, so I was able to rearrange my weekend so that I could do the grocery shopping on Sunday (when the stores were empty), rather than Saturday (when the stores were filled with people doing last minute shopping for Superbowl parties). Unfortunately, I've been fighting off a cold for two weeks now and on Saturday it moved down into my chest, so the shopping trip was a drag. I felt like I was going to just drop at any minute.

I was at the gym while the superbowl was on and it wasn't nearly as deserted as I had expected. I guess a lot of other non-football fans had the same idea that I did. I ran a mile on the treadmill for the first time since my knee injury and I'm excited to report that my knee held up just fine. No problems at all. My lungs on the other hand... It was tough to keep up the pace; I'm hoping it is this cold that I just can't seem to shake and not that I'm so horribly out of shape. I think maybe I need to give up the outdoor swimming for a few weeks until it warms up a bit; every week that I swim seems to cause my cold to relapse.

Busy day today and yesterday, but my quick check-in goes like this:

I had to work yesterday, but worked from home so I could have the SB on in the background. I too made chili, and also spinach-artichoke dip (which I ate with veggies) as SB treats. Even though I had eaten brunch out, I still stayed within my calories for the day! Also, I did a 4 mile race in the morning... in which I got a personal record breaking time of 32:01! I'm psyched - my fastest mile pace for any race (including shorter distances) was 8:23 before.

I'm in Boston right now on a travel project, but I did a great job being healthy at lunch. I stopped at a chain called "Fresh City" for a wrap sandwich and cup of soup, which came in at about 600 cals total. Not too bad! I'm going to get a salad for dinner I think, and hopefully will have time to hit the hotel gym tonight. Now that I'm traveling permanently instead of sporadically, I'm really determined not to treat going out to eat as a special occasion.

Hope everyone else is having a great Monday!

I was going to agree with you here. I'm 5'6" and most calculators give me a range of 117-144 or something. I have no plans on getting that small now, but I know back in HS I weighed 115, and although I was really thin (wore a size 3), I was still a curvy girl. I was athletic and not at all "skinny", like my 5'9" little sister who weighed about the same.

What I find helpful for those plateaus is throwing in a day or two of a ton more calories. Keeps your body guessing. The only problem is getting right back on track. Last weekend I ate too much on Wed and Tues and dropped like 3 pounds virtually overnight.

Well I finally got back on track today. I plan to stay between 1200 and 1400 calories a day and today I had 1345 calories. At least I stayed between my range.

I was too afraid to step on the scale today. I also had tons of Super Bowl food yesterday . I think I'll wait at least until tomorrow morning.

Hope everyone had a good day, and I hope we all have a great February!

I did great today! I only had 1 small piece of chicken with pepper on it. No caffeine, like 15 pieces of sugar free gum thats it, i had alot of water. Im detoxing for the next day or so to lose this gross water weight. I struggled with working out doing only a 20 mintute Turbo Jam tape, but i still did it, and usually im on the cross trainer 52 mintutes but i was beat.
Florida is in 7 days i think i can get down to 140 for sure. I jsut need to not binge. Im having a little trouble because ive been fighting with my best friend not really fighting but we are distant it makes me sad and aroudn this time last year i was 137, i had a boyfriend, i had a best friend, and this year im not sure well. So its a tough month. But day 1 of binge free and im keeping it up!

Hi everyone! Still pretty new here. I've really been enjoying reading all of the posts. It is so encouraging to hear other peoples success stories. I guess thats why I always find myself watching all of the weight loss/exercise infomercials!lol Anyway, I have been doing terrible these last few days I am an RN and work nights on weekends and found myself munching my way through the shift! Peanut M&Ms, junior mints...etc. Then of course the Superbowl, and not to mention all of the Kingcake, which is this cinnamon cake with lots of sugar and icing that is only available during Mardi Gras season. (I live in southern Louisiana.) But I am ready and determined to get back on track. I've come too far to let myself gain this weight back. I don't know why this is, but once I've "broken" my diet I somehow justify eating whatever I wan't for the rest of the day. I guess I feel like my efforts for the day have alreadt been ruined, so why not? It is very frustrating
Just wondering, does anyone else feel like they are addicted to diet coke? I drink the one with splenda instead of aspartame, but I really wish I could just cut them out alltogether. Being healthy is hard!!!!
