I'm in, starting January 2. I knew the holidays would be bad and they were. I'm not sure where I'm at because I'm retaining so much water from all the cr*p I've been eating, but I expect I'm up about 5 lbs. Oh well...I lost 'em once, I can lose 'em again. I'm already back on plan with exercise and meals, but my snacks are still way way off.

Your attitude is right on target Barbara, and that's what counts in the long term.

I think I've fixed my scale - I will double check for accuracy when I can get to a medical scale (which will be this week when I get the polyp removed from my uterus!!!).

At any rate, WOW. I am exactly smack dab right back to my starting weight (ticker now revised to reflect damage done over 3 month hiatus) WOW. I feel rotten and look rotten. I am back... humbled and with my tail between my legs, but I'm back.

Okay....things are looking up. I went for a 3 mile walk and ran the last mile so I think I'm pretty much over my cold. My eating hasn't been great, but I'm being good about not snacking and I'm down to 149.5--it's still hideously high (my red-red alert is 145) but like Barbara said, I lost it once and I can do it again (GREAT ATTITUDE, BTW).

We're celebrating 3 birthday's on the 1st (DS from the 25th, FIL is the 1st and DH is the 4th) and MIL is making lasagne--who knows how I'll do that day.

Sounds like you're really back on track. Try using a small plate at your MIL's - harder to put a heaping helping on :D.

Birthdays are really hard when it comes to the cake in my family. There is a singing of the birthday song (2 languages) while the cake is borne in with candles going. Kinda hard to not take a piece.

Count me in too! I have been terrible the last few months and could really use a :kickbutt:

I'm back at my weight that I started this journey a year ago at. It's like I just wasted a year :stress:

Starting January 1st, I am back on plan

kattiepie 12-30-2007 06:58 PM

I'm in! I'm new and ready to start the new year off right! The holidays weren't so sad for me-- I'm just dreading going back to college, where I will be surrounded by all the usual temptations that I used to succumb to. (Ie. Alcohol, fast food, disgusting 2am hot dog and burrito runs, ugh!) However, going back will also be GOOD because I will have access to the school gym and can get my hour cardio in! Also, will try to venture into the weight room and start strength training. Good luck everyone! (I sure need it!)

kattie, can I just say that I totally understand? My friends and I are ALWAYS eating because we're stressed due to class and this equals bad news :(

Mudpie 12-31-2007 08:49 AM

Hey kattiegirl

:welcome2: kattiegirl

Why don't you join us in the weekly planning and chat thread? I'm sure most of us will be busily posting things in there this week.

Kattiegirl and BLL - I'm excited to see some college girls on here! I just graduated in May, but I'm finding that I'm dealing with a lot of the same issues right now, because my friends still do the binge drinking and then late night pizza thing. Good luck!!!

I'm in! Today is offically day one...did I say that before?LMAO!:D
I have......lbs to loose(I'll jump on the scale tomorrow)and I want it GONE FOREVER this time!
I did well abstaining from alchohol but my son and I went hard on the munchies!(before midnight)
Today I start fresh:carrot:

Here we are! January! I got DH on board with me. I made him weigh in and report his weight (182--and he's 1/2" shorter than I am). I told him he MUST lose 15 pounds. He agreed and he also agreed to walk after dinner each night--just 1 mile. We'll still do our 3-5 mile walks on Sunday morning and I'll continue my morning runs. I figure I'll do about 13 miles a week (part walking part running). And I have a slew of Cooking Light recipes to try out.

Yoohoo  ... The new year is here :D ...

today was a very good day, I didn't stop all day taking down the decorations and eating well, I only did 20 mins on my bike but that's better than nothing...
Major snow storm here today so I didn't gop out to run...

I feel good, I feel pumped :strong: ...

Janie Canuck 01-01-2008 07:13 PM

Hey, I had a good start too. But I'm going to reneg on my promise to change ticker. I hopped on the scale, and it was ugly, but I have decided to give myself a few days - after all, some of that isn't "real" weight, but likely water r/t sodium, full tummy, etc., right? (Please tell me that's right!) Friday has always been my official weigh-in - I'm putting the scale away until then, and will definitely post the update - good (unlikely), bad (quite possibly), or ugly (almost certainly!).

Boy, I love the holidays, but I am so relieved that they're over!
