Default I know I am being silly...

But hopefully no one will judge me!! I really want to be able to wear a bikini and look accepatable in it by mid july (in time for a bachelorette party) so I still have two months. And I know everyones body shape is different and everything but can someone give me some sort of guideline so I know when I am ready. And I cant say whenever i feel like I look good because I doubt that will ever happen. I am about 5' 5', 136 and am wearing a size 6. Thoughts? Maybe after 7 lbs? Or if I ever get to a size 4? Am I being crazy? ha!

Not crazy at all, better to do it now before more pounds have piled on, good luck.

No judgement here ... there is an element of vanity in this for all of us. Go for it! Do you lift weights?

guideline? I would say 5'5 and 136 would be bikini ready?

I'd say focus on lifting weights and ab work to tone up and you should be good to go!

I agree that you are definitely ready at 5'5 and 136, but maybe you are not feeling comfortable because you may have "skinny fat" sort or body. Definitely start weight training and doing intense cardio along with drinking a LOT of water... Also, take pictures in said bikini now ( I know, I know it's a difficult thing to do and even harder to look at ) and then after, I do think that this will give you a better perspective on your body...

Definitely start weight training though... You may gain a pound or two but your body will look so much tighter if you have muscles... I love muscles!!

hey thanks for the advice everyone! I have been lifting weights for about 30-40 mins 2 or 3 times a week. So maybe I need to step it up a bit and add some more weight on? My problem area has always been my tummy so that might be why I feel not ready. I have been running which is supposed to help with abs and I am going to try to cut back on carbs and make sure I do my ab exerciese (which I hate!) I still have a few weeks before it gets warm out so hopefully I can do it!

You are not being silly! I think about the same thing. But instead of 7 pounds I have more like 17!

You can do it!

i agree with the ladies. if it's flab you're worried about just be very careful about how many calories you eat, weights to tone up, and cardio. The biggest drop I had was dec/jan when I was religious about my caloric intake and working out...I guess that's pretty obvious If you have a specific date in mind i think it's helpful. If you stick to your caloric goals, do cardio every day and weights 3 times a week, you should be good. I think a before pic is really a good idea also. No one has to see it but it helps you realize your progress b/c when it's just a few pounds sometimes it's harder to notice on yourself but pictures don't lie
Good luck!
