Happy Anniversary sue rose!!!
Don't fret too much about the 5-6 pounds (although I am just as guilty about my 7-8 pounds!). And yes, it will come off eventually if you keep at it. Leaving for Vegas in 3 hours!!! I need some de-stressing! I had my last night as President of my charity group. The board bought me the cutest Brighton bracelet as a "thank you" gift. Everyone have a great weekend! |
Hi Everyone
I didn't get a chance to read many post yesterday or this morning so I've been trying to catch up. I've been doing pretty well with my eating until last night and today. I bought a new 2007 Toyota Prius yesterday! I love it and am so excited :D . Now I'm ready when they raise those gas prices again :p . The thing I figured out though, is that I don't stay on plan when I'm extra happy and excited so I better calm down and get back to business :o 2FRU - Good luck with your family! Sue Rose - Congratulation! 32 years, WOW. Allison - Have fun in Vegas. We went there 2 years ago for my daughter's wedding and we had a blast! Well, better get going. I'll check in later  |
Ooh Abby, new car - very exciting. Hope you continue to love it. I must say that I absolutely adore my new car.
Well, hello everybody  I have been having a very strange week - food wise and work wise. I seem to do one day on plan and two days off which is ridculous. I really need to shift another 1/2 stone (7lbs) before my holidays and this is not the way to achieve it. I seem to just constantly crave sugar -I mean way, way more than before when I wasn't bothering to try to shift weight. Had another run in with :moo: on Tuesday but this time it was a nasty comment about my haircut. We have always got on fine. I have clearly upset her somehow but I'm past caring and can't be bothered to ask. Lots of people have noticed but nobody knows what's up. I did have an amusing moment when she desperately needed to know the answer to something at work. She spent about half an hour flicking through reference books and checking the internet before swallowing her pride and asking me. I know it makes me petty but it was fun. Hope you all have a good weekend. I have a very busy one so will probably check in again on Sunday. |
Ok...
I have 20 pounds to lose. And I'm new here and going to spend the weekend making my plan of attack. Viva La Revolucion! cuppa |
Welcome Cuppa ... we'll be waiting your return with the plan.

Boy, today was a crazy day. :dizzy: I was on the go from the moment I woke up until about . . . um 10 minutes ago. It was Mom's birthday, so dad and I were trying to get everything together for a cookout. Nothing big, just my sis and her family and a grandma. But it still had us, actually me, hopping. I woke up by 7:00am, ate my bowl of oatmeal . . . yummy and got dressed. By 9:30am I had my haircut, stopped at the bookstore to see if they had anything new in, finished getting the stuff for the cookout and was back home. I stopped long enough to check my maill and put in the first of three loads of laundry, and ate some lunch before heading outside to spend the next 2 hours mowing and trying to clean the mower. It was not pretty. Then I came in put in the second load of laundry and took my second shower of the day, made my first of two trips to the pharmacy and came home to loud some songs onto a MP3 player for my sister. By this time the third loud of laundry was ready to put in and my mom came home. Through out this I did manage to read a couple of pages in the books I'm reading and crotchet a couple of rows. Oh, and I burned the trash. After we ate me and two of my sister's kids washed dishes for my mom. All this almost makes me think that I have an easier time at my regular job. Believe me this is not a normal day.

Havent been tracking my calories for the last couple days. I dont think I am eating more, I may be eating less. I just needed a break I think.. I am scared to be out there without that crutch but I am going to focus on weights and abs and my training for awhile.
The weirdest part of the last 2 months has been me adding coffee. I NEVER used to drink coffee and now I drink decaf every day. It couldnt be related to my sudden decline in sticking to plan? Honestly I think I am just...bored. |
SusanB - Sorry can't help you with the gardening; I have a lot of my own to do this weekend. Luckily, I don't have a lot of dirt to move (I did most of the digging last weekend), I just need to dump some compost in the planter box, but I do have a lot of plants and seeds that I really need to get in the ground. What are you planting in your garden? :flow1:
2Frus - Handily my parents never visit (I can't imagine what I'd do with them if they did), but I sure overeat when I'm at their house. Good thing that is usually only once or twice a year! And when my sister was out with her two kids I think I put on at least five lbs! :o alinnell - I definitely think it would help to make your omelets one at a time, unless you are using a big pan for the eggs to spread out in, which would probably make it hard to get the omelet out in one piece. I think adding water or milk would help with the dryness, so you might give it a try that way. If you cook it with the lid on at the end, it shouldn't be runny (just don't add more than 1 tbsp per egg). Abbyin - Congrats on the Prius! :bike: (ok, I know that smilie is a bike, but it is the closest I could find that looked like driving) My friend has one and she loves it! She especially loves that she can drive in the carpool lane with it with only one person in the car--I don't know if Indiana has this or not, but it's a big deal out here in CA. Suerose - Congrats on 32 years! That's very impressive. :cp: Doughnut - Sorry you are still having trouble with the :moo: at work. This too shall pass... Ennay - I've been drinking a lot more coffee lately too--at least one, sometimes two cups per day. :coffee: I've even very recently started making it myself (I used to rely on my SO to make it, but some days he was late or didn't make it and I finally figured out that there's no big mystery to using the coffeemaker--turns out I'm perfectly capable of grinding beans, inserting a filter, and adding water). I enjoy it :cloud9: and I feel like it is a harmless indulgence (and I have so few food indulgences these days). I drink decaf with 1 tbsp fat free half and half (which I'm sure is some horrible cancer-causing substance because I can't imagine how they make half and half fat free--but don't tell me, I don't want to know  I'm addicted and it's too late to save me :faint:) and 2 tbsp sugar-free Torani syrup. It helps me stay on plan because it keeps me from snacking. |
Ah coffee ... surely a blessing from above! We recently bought a fabulous new maker and I drink more than a cup or two a day! Black. Pure unadulterated coffee ;)
My garden? this is the first year we've been at this house in town so it's very small. I've got some onion sets in and I thought I'd planted some salady stuff but I think the squirrels have taken care of that. So eventually ... salady stuff, radishes, a couple of tomato and pepper plants. A hill of little squashes and one of zucchini. There's a slight chance of frost this week but things should be OK back there. We're pretty sheltered. |

Had a great 9.15k run this morning only the second one this week and it felt awesome... After my run I hopped on my bike and did 17k... It's going to be a good day :sunny: , now I have to do some laundry and housework :tantrum: |
Whew! I just got done reading through the whole week's posts :smug:
I have been sooooo busy working I barely have time to eat, sleep, exercise and keep things clean enough around here to meet the lowest of health dept. standards :D We've also been traveling to tarnation and back watching my son play tennis. We went to Santa Monica last week and Redlands this week. He is finally done playing for the season. They got knocked out of team CIF and individual CIF (southern cal. finals). The whole team had a great season and we are very proud of all of them. Now we rest!:s: Abby-I was just telling my husband yesterday that I want a Toyota Prius!!! Barbara-I had no idea you could drive alone in the carpool lane out here if you have one; makes sense. I have the Fastrak now but could always get rid of that. Not much else going on with me. Sounds like everyone is doing well. It was interesting to read about everyone's husbands and sabotage, etc. My husband hates that I don't always want to go out to eat. I've told him I like to plan and I'm not very good at picking the healthy items when I go out:o I don't mind going out once a week but that's about it. Have a great week. Talk to everyone later. I recently bought a new coffee maker that grinds the beans and brews drip coffee...and its programmable. I use either hazelnut milk (not flavored...like soymilk, only hazelnuts) or chocolate soymilk instead of skimmilk...I make enough decaf for 2 cups for me and one for dh and if he forgets then I have his iced with the chocolate soy milk for my pm snack.
wow...i typed this hours ago and never posted.... |
greatchoice - sorry :sorry: to have mislead you; I was oversimplifying a bit. Actually, you have to have a special sticker to drive in the carpool lane with your Prius. It is a big yellow sticker that goes on the car's bumper; it is sort of shaped like a key. The state only gave out a limited number of the stickers, so unfortunately I don't think you can get one anymore. My friend has one and brags about it all the time, which is how I know about it, since I don't have a Prius.

We don't have a special car pool lane in Indiana. I live and work pretty much in the city so I don't really even get on the highway. One of our clients who lives in California came to visit our office and said she was really shocked that big semi trucks were allowed in the fast lane here. She said it really took her by surprise. I told her that any car/truck/motor cycle can drive in any lane they want here in Indiana and trust me they drive fast too. It gets pretty crazy out there. I think they all think they're Mario Andretti :bike: . Anyway, I love driving my new car. It's just fun to drive and plus I have 130 miles on it now and the gas gage hasn't moved yet! Gotta love that :D
Well, I've been pretty off plan this weekend (kinda taking a break) but not overeating too much. I'll jump back on the wagon tomorrow  Hope everyone had a great weekend  |
Abbyin -- Nice avatar :D...
Here too, Ontario, any car can drive anywhere on the highways  ... Not much to report, DH and I went for a 31k bike ride it was cool and dreary but we didn't get caught in the rain... |
sigh.....I went to nordstroms and got bra fitted again. I WAS a 34F/G which is hard to find. Now I am a 32 G which is damn near impossible. Even super fancy expensive Nordy's only had ONE. Sigh. I wanted to get fitted before I online ordered my new sportsbras. 41 months til boob surgery (roughly). Assuming I am willing to take time off from running to get it.
|
Ennay -- 32G :fr: ...That must be extremely difficult to be fitted.... Breast reduction?
|
Who knew that picnic was all you can eat ice cream and toppings??? DH did! I was veerrryy good!
Now I should do legs and have a shake for a snack. How about Victoria's Secret? I ordered online and am very pleased. The return policy is reasonable too. |
Boy, Ennay, I sure you wish you could share a little of that 'G' with my barely 'B' self!!!
I had a pretty good weekend - went on a great ride yesterday... very hilly... for 1 hour 15 minutes. I'm guessing around 16 miles or so, but my bike computer has died. Anyway, it felt great and calories were good. Walked today... weather has been really gorgeous the last few days. I hope everyone has a great Monday... a healthy start to the week! |

I had a good day -- 30 minute very brisk walk with a little running AND a 40 minute bike ride... and broccoli and salad (big with chick peas, feta, etc) for dinner. I weighed today and was 140 -- up 3 lbs. from 2 weeks ago. Man, I hate that. I've had a hard time getting back on track, but I'm trying to get with it this week. I have a family reunion this weekend in Pennsylvania, so I need to do well this week. Hope everyone is having a good week so far! |
