Just popped in to say hello
Whittlin - I thought about the pedometer last night. I think I will wear one and see just how far I am walking at the track. Should be fun :D Allison - My DH has been in the racing business forever. He used to jump the walls to change tires, but now he's to old (and a little pudgy) to do that anymore so he just works on them. Nascar is BIG at my house too. Anything that goes fast, DH is watching. I hate the Speed Channel  Well I think I'll pop over to see Susan's Challenge and then I better get back to work. Everyone have a great day! |
Okay...chat room illiterate here...what the heck does DH stand for? I notice everyone keeps using it...can't all be the same initials. Dumb Husband??? D*** Husband? Help me out here
Now, what about DS? |
Good luck on your 21 day challenge ladies.
I am still on my summer goal challenge. Inching towards it. Probably won't make it by the 1st day of summer but I can hope can't I. You want to hear a funny Body fat Scale story. My husband stepped on it and it told him that he had something like 36 percent body fat. Then I realized that he had accidently entered himself as a woman. When he fixed it ...18% Discrimination I say! Anyhow I try not to take the BF too seriously but I do like to see the numbers go DOWN. Actually I kind of found it funny that it was calling me obese. Its just clearly not true so it didn't hurt my feelings. And if I didn't think I was over fat I wouldn't be trying to loose 15+ pounds. So I'm OK with it...really I am. Sob sob. No really. 158 two days in a row. Very exciting. I think I loose my appetite in hot weather. I feel just great these days, except a little saggy all over. My body is deflating. Anyhow happy week all. Allison Thanks. Guess it just depends on his behavior that particular day whether he is dear or dumb (also applies to daughter lol) :)

[QUOTE=alinnell;1675150]Technically, DH is Dear Husband (or Darn Husband) but I like your Dumb Husband just as much!!!! ;)
:D Mine would be "doughy husband" Dagmar |
Hey All!
Warlock- Congrats on the 10k time!!! Hikerchick- WootWoot! 158, that's great! MichellinWoman- I laughed pretty hard at the Dumb Husband. Hee hee. When I first began coming on chat rooms, the DH and DS and DD used to confuse me so much. I liked your interpretation. :D So far so good. Went to a neat Latin aerobics class today, it was fun! We had to be all twisty with our hips, very hard, and it was packed! I think I'll go again next monday. :) |
There is a thred around here somewhere with all the shorthand on it. That is if you feel like going thru this maze.lol

Compliment sorta I guess
My DH was doing the laundry last night and offered the following
"I'm folding you clothes and the're so small they're like kids' clothes" He definitely got a kiss for that one - I'm a size 10. :carrot: Dagmar |
My Dh did that a while back. He was fighting with me he kept saying they were ny 10 year olds I had to unfold them and show him that they were mine. Doesn't it feel great.Congrats on the NSV Dagmar

I'll admit that I was folding up some new jeans (that are just a hair snugger than I like) and they look WRONG to me. 8's look normal, 6's look tiny.
But I am wearing my too tight jeans today because I have about 5 pairs of size 10's that now I spend all day pulling back up and 1 pair of 8's and then when I went shopping the 6's seemed fine in the store so I bought 2 pairs of 6's but they seem tighter at home. I thought after a half hour they would stretch back out but not really. At least I will have a reminder all day every time I go to eat that i will be wasting $60 if I dont lose enough to wear these jeans comfortably. |
Good morning everyone. Haven't been here in a bit. I've just been so busy working and trying to sleep!
I have to work today 3:30 pm-6am so I got my exercise out of the way already. I walked 30 mins on my treadmill then went to Curves. One of my college kids is coming by this morning so we'll go out to breakfast and then hit Costco. I'm sure he figures I'll pay for all the groceries (which I will!). Susan, you are so right about the last few pounds (and I see we are the same height). I have been staying between 133-135 for approximately ONE YEAR  Sometimes I think this is just the weight I should be at but I just keep being in weight loss mode because I always think I'd gain if I try to maintain :rollpin: That sounds crazy but if I give myself and inch I'll take a mile ;) Hope everyone has a great day. Like you, I've been entertaining the idea that this is "my" weight and I should just stay where I am, but I really WANT to get below that! I've joined Susan's 21 day challenge and maybe, just maybe, this will be the spur that makes me lose again (I did an Easter challenge and I lost, but it came right back--ugh!). But you're right--I think that if I weren't actively trying to lose these last few pounds that I'd probably start gaining again. I hang out in the maintainers forum to get pointers there and they often have the same ups and downs as the rest of us. I guess there isn't anything magical about maintaining vs losing. |
Chocolate for brekkie
This is going to sound weird but I'm going to try it anyway :stars:
I treat myself to a couple of pieces of Belgian chocolate, made by hand in a tiny store, (not too near my house thank God) every 2nd weekend or so. I'ts "droolicious"! The problem is that, after I eat my chocs in the evening, I seem to then want to hoover up any and all other food in sight, out of sight, etc. Next weekend is a "chocolate" weekend. I'm going to try going to the chocs store right when it opens - 11 a.m. - and getting my 2 chocolates. I'm then going to take the goodies to the park nearby, plant myself on a bench, and just spend about 10 minutes really, really enjoying them. I have 17 million things to do after that (doesn't everyone on Saturday?) so i won't have a chance to think about food until lunch time and that will be quick and from a store. ??? Dagmar |
:bunny2: 146 :bunny2: 1 pound down to make a fuss over! The result of 7 days of remembering, "It's the white flour, stupid!" and not only did I lose the few I'd regained but lost a whole new one to start my trend back down. So today I did allow a treat because I don't believe in deprivation. A little white flour back into my diet with 2 slices of a partially wholegrain sandwich bread. And I allowed a dessert back in with chocolate pudding. I'm content with that and will probably be able to be right back staying away from white flour and desserts tomorrow. Happy for everyone who's had pleasant clothing-surprise moments! Especially if compliments were involved! Great good luck to all who join in on the 21-day challenge, too. Welcome back greatchoice. Mudpie, it sounds like a reasonable treat to me. Be sure to renenber your water on full-schedule Saturdays, too. |
