Featherweights Need to Exercise too! Apr 23-29

Would you skip a day of exercising if you knew some fellow posters were following your progress?
If you promised in this thread to lift weights twice this week ... could you miss one day?
That's either accountability or blackmail ;)
Either way ... let's move Featherweights!

How about six walks and two lifting days?

Elanajel 04-23-2007 08:12 AM

Today: Boot Camp class, 6:40 p.m.

Wednesday: Kickboxing, 6 p.m.

Thursday: Strength

Saturday: Either Boot Camp or Step (depends on how early I wake up!)

2frustrated 04-23-2007 09:21 AM

Righty ho, well today I have run a mile on the treadmill, then tonight I will teach my little babies how to beat each other up. - BIG TICK

Tuesday I will go to the gym and lift heavy stuff - BIG TICK

Wednesday I will go to the gym and lift heavy stuff - BIG TICK

Thursday I might go to the gym and lift heavy stuff (couldn't, was out with work), I will also spar for nigh-on 2 hours - BIG TICK

Friday I will partake in the private lesson of **** - we are trying to impress spectators and it leaves me sweaty and exhausted and glowing! :goodvibes: - BIG TICK

KylieH 04-23-2007 10:13 AM

Count me in!!

MWF Weights
T/Th/S 30 minutes on the treadmill

I won 2 months of cardio kick boxing at a charity auction (I was the only bidder...hmmm...), so I'll call and try to get in to at least one of those this week.

Good luck all!!

3fcuser1058250 04-23-2007 10:34 AM

Running: 3 times
Biking: daily
Gym: 4 times
Swimming: twice

That's my plan and I'm sticking to it... Biking and the gym already done today :D ...

I'm going to keep track of it this way:

Running: 0/3
Biking: 1/7
Gym: 1/4
Swimming: 0/2

srmb60 04-23-2007 10:44 AM

DH walked with me this morning. Very nice! I've gone over my ticker for April so I guess I'd better start a new one.

poppins3 04-23-2007 11:14 AM

hikerchick 04-23-2007 11:58 AM

Morning all.

This week we have

M 45 minute run LBWO

T UBWO + abs core stuff

W 45 minute run

TH UBWO

F 45 minute run LBWO

Sunday 6 miles (I hope)

Recenlty I have been hearing a small rebelious voice saying "What are you doing to me?" Body speaking up kind of confused that it is supposed to be running and lifting heavy objects continually.

So this thread is really good I need that little bit of cheering on or blackmail or whatever just to make sure I keep the pace.

Lets go do crazy things! Heave ho!

Sodiumlightbaby 04-23-2007 02:55 PM

Thanks Susan, this is what I need.

I'm going day by day here. Tomorrow I will go to the gym for a short workout before work! I will do this!!

Dana

Whittlin 04-23-2007 09:56 PM

Hi to SusanB and Featherweight exercisers.

My workouts will be T-Tapp videos/DVDs at home, and I'm aiming for 3 full workouts per week (or putting in about 2.5 hours/wk). Right now, though, I'm also trying to get some flower beds ready, so I'll post that work too.

Sunday 22nd - Basic Workout (is 15 mins)
(Monday 23rd - gardening, 45 min)
Tuesday 24th - Beginner/Rehabilitative Workout (is 50 mins)
Wednesday 25th - Beginner/Rehabilitative
Thursday 26th - Beginner/Rehabilitative
Friday 27th - Beginner/Rehabilitative
Saturday 28th - Basic Workout (15 mins)
Sunday 29th - Off

So, I got in 3.75 hours of workouts this week - more than usual.

Sodiumlightbaby 04-24-2007 05:41 AM

Whittlin- I just realized your almost at goal, congrats!! How are you finding those last few pounds to be?

Well, it is 5:30 am and I am up and in my workout cclothes, got everything ready the night before. So, I figure if I do short workouts, about 40min, I'll be less inclined to be exhausted throughout the day. Anyway wish me luck!

Dana

michelinwoman 04-24-2007 04:39 PM

sodiumlightbaby: 5:30 AM.....are you nuts! You make me tired just thinking about getting up at 5:30. Do you always work out that early? What time do you go to bed at night? Maybe I need to become a morning person to get motivated!

3fcuser1058250 04-24-2007 06:01 PM

When the kids were young I got up at 4:30AM got to the gym for 5AM to be back home for 6:45AM for hubby to go to work.... It AIN'T easy but it can be done... I used to go to bed no later than 10PM, 9 was better even...

Sodiumlightbaby 04-24-2007 06:06 PM

Hey Michelinwoman. I guess I am a bit nuts but it's the only time I can work out. I don't have anyone to watch my daughter in the evenings. I like working out in the mornings, you don't have a chance to procrastinate and then it's over and done with. You should try it a couple times and see how you feel, you start the day off right and feel really good about yourself.
I have to go to bed by 10:30 though. That's not the crazy part, the crazy part is working with infants for 8 hours afterwards.

Today went really well. I was trying to find a balance where I am not too exhausted to work and then pick up my daughter at the end of the day. I walked for 15 mins to get to the gym and then I did 15 mins strength training, 20 mins of cardio and 10mins of stretching. Afterwards I walk another 15 mins to the metro. I felt good, not too tired and I don't dread doing it tomorrow. Which, by the way, is tomorrows goal. Hit the gym again tomorrow!

srmb60 04-25-2007 12:35 AM

I just made my ticker longer. I only did one quick walk up town for the mail and another errand. Just didn't fit very well between home, groceries and work.

Sodiumlightbaby 04-25-2007 06:40 AM

I hear that Susan, time is often my problem and a walk is better then nothing.

Well, I didn't make it today, just couldn't drag myself out of bed. I am going to go tomorrow. I swear!!

Ilene, you make me tired just to read your plan, where do you find the time and energy to exercise as much as you do?

Dana

3fcuser1058250 04-25-2007 07:53 PM

I didn't exercise today... Tomorrow is another day :D

Sodiumlightbaby 04-26-2007 06:58 AM

I haven't exercised in two days! I am going to go on Friday for sure!

3fcuser1058250 04-26-2007 11:03 AM

Thursday:

Run to and from gym, 5k total, light legs at gym 30 mins.... Bike later on...

2frustrated 04-26-2007 11:13 AM

I'm spot on my plan. My maybe for today turned into a no, but I'm cool with that, we were out on a trip for work, and I'm bushed. I think I'll have to make do with 2 hours of training tonight

srmb60 04-26-2007 01:52 PM

I'm finding the mornings are getting shorter and shorter this week. Could be because I'm sleeping a little later each day ;) So all I did was scurry around on foot, running errands. Over 2.7kms ... not bad!
I did use a ball and a band to while away the hour 'What Not to Wear' was on. That oughta be good for something.

michelinwoman 04-26-2007 03:22 PM

sodiuimlightbaby: I have tried morining workouts and you're right...I do feel great afterward. I just can't seem to get the motivation up to actually DO them in the morning. Once I do, I feel great but making myself start the workout is 98% of the battle for me. We also run a business from home and the phone seems to ring everytime I start a workout...then I am all breathless when I answer (makes people wonder). :)

Doughnut 04-26-2007 03:23 PM

I don't think I can pretend that this thread doesn't exist any longer. I am adding an exercise ticker for formal exercise. It's pathetically unambitious but if I don't put something up I'll just keep going with my current plan. The zero plan.

Just finished an hour of biking :D ... Burned a total of 897 calories today :carrot:

YAY for starting something Doughnut... Everyone has to start somewhere ;)

You totally knacker me out - just reading your posts :dizzy: Right. I'm off to do some exercise then. Even if it's 10 minutes it's 10 mins more than I've done in the last few weeks. Slinks off, filled with a sense of dread...

 I had to look up "knacker" ... 10 mins IS 10 mins... Try it you like it!!

mamajones 04-26-2007 04:39 PM

I'm breathless just reading what all you did today, Ilene! My heart gets to racing, like 180 bpm just from stepping on the treadmill, no really! I'm working with a trainer so we can condition my heart to tolerate more exercise & I see her 3 hrs/wk & she kicks my butt! On the other days I'm happy to walk 35-60 mins at about 3.5 mph. Over that & I have to stop every 2 minutes & catch my breath. Pitiful, isn't it? But it's been that way forever, even as a child.

So, on my best days I'm not burning off a meal, you almost burned off a day! You go!

Er, no I didn't much but I do feel better :D

Sodiumlightbaby 04-26-2007 07:33 PM

Yay Doughnut!! anything is better the nothing.

Glad to see more people posting on here.

Ilene- I'm with doughnut, I don't know where you find the energy! With the amount of exercise you do, you'll hit your goal in no time!!

Michelinwoman- trust me, I find it really hard to get up and go, I have only gone once this week so far. I'm not sure how I would do if I was working out at home, takes even more willpower. They say if you can do something for 2 months, it will become a habit. Gonna give it a try.

Liz- sorry to hear you get breathless so easily, do you have asthma? Good thing is exercising can only make it better.

Susan- sounds like your scurrying is actually turning out to be good exercise. Since I started doing fieldwork I have lost 7lbs just from scurrying after infants. So, there is something to be said for movement that just doesn't feel like exercise!

I have packed up my clothes for tomorrow and I am wearing my gym outfit to bed. Tomorrow I will go to the gym!! Back and biceps and the usually run on the treadmill. I've committed and I have no excuses!

Dana

2frustrated 04-27-2007 08:17 AM

Well the week has gone to plan. I feel good about it, even though I'm a bit tired for kickboxing tonight. It's a good job I love it otherwise I'd be a lazy bum!

Tomorrow we are even scheduling a game of frisbee :D Extra exercise!
Oh and I forgot to post this in my earlier thread on page 1, but on Sunday I am aiming for a 2 mile run. If I don't get round to it I'll do it in the gym on Monday. :)

Elanajel 04-27-2007 01:25 PM

I met all my exercise goals this week! Woo-hoo! It was pouring this morning, but I went to the Y and did a "bonus" cardio and lower body/core session. I'm visiting parents this weekend--just an overnight--so I feel OK about missing my usual Sun. morning Boot Camp class.

Anyway, this exercise thread is really helping me. Let's keep it going.

hikerchick 04-27-2007 02:15 PM

Great job on the exercise!

I have done pretty well this week. Stayed on plan with a few minor tweeks.

Wound up running MWF
LBWO M
UBWO Tu
FUll BWO TH

So I got strength training in. Not in the exact order that I had planned but all was accomplished and since this week has been particularly fatiguing for me (allergies?) I feel good about that.

I just couldn't bear running AND doing a LBWO on the same day. All is good and even after some weavy weighted squats yesterday I was able to get in 2.5 miles. Not as much as my normal run BUT the longest I have been able to run on a day after weights. And I put in plenty of sprints.

Now its time for my nap.

Happy weekend and thanks for this thread.

Sodiumlightbaby 04-27-2007 03:35 PM

You guys have done great. congrats to those who have stayed on plan!!

I went to the gym this morning and I feel great!! going to try to go this weekend but I am swamped with homework and Grandma is coming on Sat.

I think that next week I can go to the gym a minimum of three times, I getting the hang of it.

Dana

Doughnut 04-28-2007 07:10 AM

I won't be doing any today for various reasons but I will tomorrow. I will. Honestly.

Sodiumlightbaby 04-28-2007 08:41 AM

Ya, I'm with ya Doughnut. My mother in law is coming and the house is a mess. I will be cleaning all day, I guess I could count that!

Dana

KylieH 04-28-2007 10:03 AM

I made all the workouts I planned this week. Originally, I said that I'd do 30 minutes on the tredmill today, but I think I'll give the cardio-kickboxing a try instead. I'm not a big class person and the class is a bit intimidating, but I'll give it a shot.

I'll let you know how it goes!! HAHAHA

srmb60 04-28-2007 10:38 AM

I am soooo shallow! many of you know that I cannot get the hang of jogging. I can go a block or so but it's pretty pathetic and not getting much better. However ... today ...

My BIL is a round little truck driver. Not jolly, not pleasant. Basically sits, eats and sits some more. As I rounded a corner this morning, I spied his 82 y o Daddy waiting to pick him up from where he parks his truck. Two and one half blocks from his house! All he has to carry is a little duffle bag!

So I ran .... until I was out of sight. Legs darned near fell off!

High C 04-28-2007 07:37 PM

Ilene,

I love the way that track your exercise :) :

I'm going to keep track of it this way:

Running: 0/3
Biking: 1/7
Gym: 1/4
Swimming: 0/2

I'm going to copy this idea for next week's exercise:D .

BTW, did it all go to plan?
