Thanks all for the welcome! :D :D
 I think barbara is having a leeeeetle too much fun with the smilies  Susan - you are always so positive it is sad to see you down. Meeting dh for lunch today and the choices at that side of town (at a place where dd can also eat) are pretty bad. Strangely enough I am going to push for the pizza buffet place (Izzy's) because they have a decent salad bar and dd will be happy. Just gotta watch the dessert bar. Got back to the gym this morning, 30 min bike, my PT exercises and then a few upper body exercises before I got the call from the daycare room. Considering the mood he was in yesterday, that I got an hour was pretty impressive. Well I gotta pick up dd soon and this morning she was "helping" me and took my shoe somewhere. |
Yuppie - actually it's the Pennys Low Fat Desserts ones recommended on 3FC's site -- I was surprised when I found out that a regular-sized muffin has so few calories (it ranges from 100-140 I believe). Pretty yummy & moist - though incredibly crumbly at room temperature so I recommend fridging it first.

I love the :D smilies! Well not the carrot and the banana :nono: but most of them. It's fun!
Aw ennay, :thanks: I'm all right! |
These days, I've been spending my online time over on the Maintainers forum. Hope to see all of you there when you reach your goals.
It's a very supportive community and they've taught me that we have to make a lifestyle commitment to maintain the weight loss. We can't go back to pre-diet habits or we'll gain the weight back. |
enney~ I can sympathize on children "helping" my 2 and 4 year old like to "help" alot it relly does create alot more work doesn't it. They like to put my slippers away before we go out needless to say when we get home noone can find them. At least when thay get older the helping actually helps in 2 more yeards i will have my own personal babaystter under my roof with a 11 year old helper.

Susan-who are "the casuals?" that sounds like my kind of job!
|
Casuals? There are a couple of nurses who are not booked. We can call them if need be. Usually they have another job somewhere else.

Hey all.
I had the biggest craving for a baked good today at school. But I was smart enough to leave my money at home so I wouldn't buy anything. :) I got home and was still craving something (and it'd been like three hours.) so I made some amazing raisin bran muffins. They were so good, and since I was hungry, I had one and a half. :P I'm going for a run though so it'll be good. I feel like I haven't been on here for days with all the conversations going on. I'm so lost!LOL it's been one busy board since last night. |
Evening darlings .... I have to stop calling you gals, don't I Aquawarlock?
I had quite a nice shift this evening. The only thing I wish I hadn't eaten is some cookies. Now, I'm sipping some wine. I find it hard to unwind after an evening shift. The house is all quiet and it's dark but I'm still running on 'work' mode. I'll just read and post a bit and sooner or later I'll get tired enough to go to bed. Tomorrow, I have a position interview and my new appliances are being delivered! I'm pretty excited. That may be another reason I'm wide awake! |
haha, Susan - I won't take offense if you (or anyone else) still use gals (or variants thereof) ~ "roosters" are definitely a minority in 3FC (hmm... maybe an idea for a new club?)
I was tempted to unwind with a glass of wine too but figured I don't really want to -- and exercise kinda calmed my mind too. Tomorrow I'm taking a personal day off - yeeha! :broc: - and heading to the beach ~ I'll be eating out all 3 meals so hopefully I can keep it under control. Of course, I'm planning on lots of walking & possibly even renting a bike. (I'll also be checking out new clothes @ beach-area shops, so a definite motivator not to pig out at meals :D) |
Hi everyone!
I had a great day of eating and exercising today. After grocery shopping, I was hungry and tempted to get something out to eat, but instead I just went home and made a healthy meal :) After eating lunch and doing some things around the house, I didn't feel like exercising but I went for a run anyways. I felt so much better afterwards! I'm a teacher and I've been on vacation for spring break. The new school year here (Japan) starts in April. School starting means I teach and don't have time to eat any snacks really. I have lunch of course but otherwise time is pretty tight. I'd like to eat a few snacks so I have energy to teach and always it helps my energy levels so by the end of the day I'm not dead tired. I stand all the time when teaching and I also walk around the classroom most of time because I need to observe students and circulate (Also, if I just stand in one place.. it's boring!) Are there any foods I could eat with my lunch that would help me stay full? Does anyone have the same problem with having a job where they can't have a snack? Right now, I wake up about 6 and have breakfast (usually oatmeal with walnuts and a banana or apple and soymilk). I get to school around 8 and have a small yogurt around 8 or 8:30 before classes start. Have lunch at 12:30 (usually brown rice, a salad, some kind of fish or chicken and some cooked veggies). My classes finish by 4 usually. Anything I could do better eating wise? I was thinking maybe if I have a small snack that is very energy packed. I do have 10 minutes between classes, so maybe if I had a small snack that I can easily just eat with no utensils and isn't messy (I don't have time to go back to the teacher's workroom, so it's gotta be portable, easy and quick). Any ideas? |
Well, that was a short night. Susan must be stewing about something :o
So meowies ... the bad stretch is from lunch until 4? The first thing I'd try is adding protein to your lunch. Even just a little bigger piece of chicken or a scoop of cottage cheese on your salad. Hmmm ... two minute, tidy, high protein snacks? a rolled up slice of deli chicken or turkey, do they make a low fat cheese string? The gals in calorie counters have been talking about fiber lately. I think some of them nibble dry cereal for snacks and chase it with water ??? |
meowies~I don't know if they are available there or not, but for a quick 10 minute break you could easily eat a protein bar. Yeah, I know, they're processed and all. But I keep a stash in my desk at work for those times when lunch just didn't stay with me. I look for ones under 200 calories, high in both protein and fiber.
I've had two wonderful OP days! I'm back to ticker weight and hope to see 139 by the weekend. Everyone have a good day today, and warlock~don't get a sunburn!! |
ugh, I could not stop nibbling last night, and I was already having a high day
|
I had a munchie night last night but it is TOM time I had crispie minis and 70%cocoa choclate so it wasn't that bad but I went little over 1800 cals I strive for 1400 - 15000 and this wek I was hoping for 1300 because of this weekend. Oh well I will have to be really good next week also so my cals even out.
