Good day everyone. We're a quiet crowd today. I hope everyone is being good even on the weekend.

Dana, 45 minutes at a slow jog is really very good for someone who has not been excercising. Keep it up. I am so happy that you are enjoying your gym experience.

Susan, feel free to blurt away. I have been thinking about the magic of the 10s it does seem like there is something mystical there. I made it one small pound more. I am only a few pounds above my prepregnancy weight (my second prepregnancy...I was 155 before #1, but I am taking it one birth at a time)

Today I went out and ran in the rain. I made it for 25 minutes and came in absolutely soaked. I feel resolved.

It makes me feel strong and determined when I walk in rotten weather ;)

I was up bright and early today so I could run before the wind got too high. Lately it's so windy that it's too freakin' cold to run, -30c windchill, I love to run but I'm not that  ... I ended up running 8.78k/5.46miles and it was gorgeous, I was all done by 10AM, it's a great feeling... As hicker said "I feel resolved" ...

While I was gone hubby did the vacuuming and some wash, so there wasn't that much to do, dust and clean the bathrooms.... oh FUN  ....

I just may go have a snooze and later pick up DD and we'll go out for supper, it's our new routine after her work on Saturday nights....I enjoy it a lot...

Have a great rest of the day chickies

I was up bright and early as well....4 AM to be precise. I had to be downtown at 5 AM to volunteer at the Tour de Palm Springs charity bike ride. I was handing out maps to the riders. We estimate 9000 riders took the ride this year. I also worked last night doing registration. It's actually quite fun--the people are very nice! I had a few "complaints" because the 100 mile ride was actually 102. I told them they were getting a bonus!

This afternoon I'm heading to a wedding. Don't know when I'll get the grocery shopping done.

Wow, running in the cold and the rain, you two are an inspiration.

I made it to the gym again, thanks for the encouragement Hickerchick, I did triceps, chest and abs, and did a slow jog for an hour, 6k! I forgot how much I enjoy zoning out on the treadmill. I also forgot about that terrific high afterwards! I gotta say, I'm really proud of myself, thanks for the help ladies.
I've kept my calories down to 1300 today. It's been a good day.

hope you have fun at the wedding Alllison.

Susan, I'm totally with you on those last 10 lbs, why do they want to hold on so badly!?!

Dana

I am so proud of myself!! For dinner at the wedding, I fixed myself a teeny, tiny burrito of chicken, rice and salsa (no cheese or guacamole) and I had only 2 small margaritas!!!

Dana~once I read this analogy about losing weight. When you weigh a lot, you are like a new roll of paper towels. One towel (read:pound) barely goes around the roll and it is so easy to unroll one sheet (pound). As you near the end of the roll (your goal) the towels are more tightly wound onto the roll and harder to get off. We have to work harder for the last pounds. It may not sound nice, but the analogy makes it really clear to me.

Allison- Fantastic will power at the wedding, I can just imagine the options of fatty, wonderful foods they were offering. I don't know if I could have done it. Good on ya! Great analogy, totally makes sense, but makes me want to cry.

Well, I'm overloaded with homework, so I guess I better get to it.

Afternoon goils. You all are doing well this weekend!
My phone rang bright and early this morning! So, I've been to work as an extra set of hands for 4 hours. Ate a bit of cwap. Ran to church to vote at the annual meeting. Skipped the potluck and now I'm home settling in with a diet caffeine free coke.
I think a nap is in order and legs (which got interrupted yesterday).

Sounds like a pretty good week for everyone healthwise (with the exception of a couple DDs and some weird weather...) I have been doing....okaaaay...

I am not consuming too many calories, but my problem is that there of things I really shouldn't be eating...I am getting a bit off track, but I'm determined to do better this week. I also have Montreal in sight finally, but two papers and a midterm to deal with first, all planned for the same day. :faint:

sweet_talker and Sodiumlightbaby --Hats off to you students, hang in there, all too soon it will be all over and you'll wish you're back in school...

Alinell -- Way to go on the will power at the wedding... and being a dedicated volunteer... Have you ever done that bike ride? Is it a bike or motorcycle run?

Today I got up pretty late, around 10AM... Got my mojo going at around 11 and went for some groceries to make some more soup... Can you believe 3 pots of soup in one week... I love it though and the soup keeps me out of trouble and full all the time... I also made some steel cut oats in the slow cooker I added eggwhites and it made 4 servings so I'm good for at least 4 days of breakfasts...

At 3pm I swam for 40 mins with my g/f... Tonight just taking it easy....

alinnell 02-11-2007 09:37 PM

Ilene~it is a bike ride. My brother came down 4 years ago and did the 100 mile ride and my DD did a 10 mile twice although each time she said it was too easy and she should have done the 25 mile. Perhaps in 2 years I'll try the 25 miler--right now I'm going to keep volunteering to help. It's great fun! And it's all for charity.
