While I don't follow the fat smash diet, the foods you described are what we eat over in the Whole Foods Lifestyle section, and yes, we do lose weight eating them. What we stay away from is processed foods.

I am concerned about that as well.I asked the question too and am still waiting to see if anyone else has carbs that are really high.I also sent an email to Dr.Ian today, waiting for an answer. How many carbs did you rack up in a day?Mine was 185grams.

If you have been on a very low carb diet and you increase carbs quite a bit, then you might gain weight initially, especially if you have been in ketosis. Studies have shown quick weight gains after carbs are reintroduced. You might want to gradually increase your carbs and reduce your fat, so that your body gets used to more carbs without adding more calories. Then you can move on to another diet plan that includes a lot of carbs, and the most important factor will be the calories.

I don't know that much about the low carb lifestyle or if changing to fat smash will make you gain a bit, but i do know that in general that fat smash is a lifestyle that takes out all simple carbs - which are empty calories with no nutritional value and usually found in processed foods or foods made ith with white sugars, white potatos and white breads - and has you eat a balanced diet incorporating complex carbs which are full of nutrition - things such as whole grains, fresh fruits, etc.
