chickpea salad?

  • I once got a recipe here and I have lost it. Its no longer in the recipe area.
If any one remebers this please share!

It was chickpeas, olive oil ,balsamic vinegar and I think onion.

hummmm ,ok, that is the recipe BUT how much of each???
  • Ooh so many of them... I googled chickpea salad and many came up- I'd post a link but the forum isn't letting me
  • There's no need to be intimidated about the exact amounts. Most salads are very forgiving, and measuring is often not a big deal.

Onion - add as much as you'd like to. If you're intimidated, add just a little and after tasting, decide if you want more.

the oil and vinegar isn't a big deal either. If you add more than you need, it will drain to the bottom of the bowl, especially if you use a slotted spoon to serve your salad. In general, the "classic" proportion is two parts oil to one part vinegar. Though with a very good vinegar you can use a higher percentage of vinegar. You could try starting with two tablespoons of oil, one of vinegar, and then after mixing the salad taste. You can add a little more vinegar and stir it well, and taste again.
  • you can mash it all together, add some tahini and make it hummus! I love the taste, and its soooo healthy too.
  • Sounds yummy. I guess you add so much to it. For example, peppers, celery, pasta, feta cheesy. If anyone does find the recepie please post. I love trying new stuff
  • Oh man, that is making me hungry- Wonderful ideas Jules88!!
