  • Hi there! and welcome! I am doing the extreme version so I don't know much about the original version...I do know about dieting and nursing, after all 3 of my babies were born I did WW because they have a program for nursing moms. As much as I wanted the weight off, I wanted to nurse my babies more, so I waited until I was done to do other types. With baby #1 lost all the baby weight just in time to get preg with #2 (9mos ), 2nd time around it took a year and #3 is 2 next week and well you see that I'm here...not getting it off has more to do with having 3 kids than anyone diet. Good Luck and congrats on your new little one!
  • new too
I just recently started the Extreme also. This is my second, almost to week 3. Week one was great, meaning I was a zealot with the food and exercise. Week two, I expanded my snack options..a mistake that I will rethink for the future. No Wheat Thins for me! Back to the fruit/yogurt/soup for snacks. Am proud of my exercise commitment, and sticking to it. Back on track. Nice to know someone else is out there, about in the same place as I am.
  • I'm not sure what all the original Fat Smash entails, but to maintain a good supply of milk you need to make sure you're getting enough calories in a day. You could try logging the meal plans into The Daily Plate or Fit Day to make sure you'd be eating enough.

I'm nursing my twenty month old and haven't had any problems, but she's eating a fair amount of table food, of course, and only nurses three or four times a day.

    Hope that helps!

  • I would suggest you consult with your doctor before doing this. You need a balanced diet while nursing.
  • thank you for the replies im supplementing with breastmilk so im not too worried about supply. I just want to make sure my baby will get all the nutrients. I find myself skipping alot of meals due to the hectic schedule of a new baby and 2yr old. So to start eating right period is my main goal
  • If you meant you're supplementing with formula, that's pretty much the worst way to keep your supply up. The best way to keep your supply up is to nurse on demand.

I've found it helpful (I have three kids - 6, 3, and 1) to have meals pre-made so I can just grab a sandwich out of the fridge or grab some carrot sticks or some other healthy snack. Having things pre-portioned and ready to go helps me from having a handful of chocolate chips as lunch!

    Hope that helps!
