Default Help! I need suggestions

I am on day 2 of cycle 1 of EFS and I just realized something.

I HATE BROWN RICE!

Sorry to shout but I cannot stand it. Ick! I have read the other substitutions but I do not like those either. Is there anyone out there that was successful but used something other than brown rice when noted?

Also, I am not a big fan of beans. I thought I was because I like refried beans and chili with beans but turns out they make me gag too (sorry for the visual).

I fear I have picked the wrong plan and I am bummed. I really need to lose weight for my upcoming wedding and at first glance I thought I could do this.

Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Sometimes it can take time to find just the right thing to help us lose weight. We no longer diet, we know that doesn't work. We find what is right for us, something we can live with. The journey we are takeing to a thinner and more healthy person isn't something that lasts a day or a few weeks it lasts a lifetime.

Maybe you need to find something different.

Peas are really good for you but watch having to many. Gout isn't fun to have.

I'm not familiar with EFS as I'm on regular FS. I also happen to love brown rice and beans!

In regards to rice, can you try wild rice? I've had red rice before and it was pretty neat. I've seen black rice as well. Those kinds of specialty items I've found in the bulk foods sections of my grocery stores. Maybe more of a "pilaf" type would be better than just straight brown rice. I also think it's a great idea to mix things into your rice to make it taste better. I've mixed black beans and corn into my brown rice - and with a little soy sauce, it was great. You could do that with salsa. Mask the brown rice until perhaps you get more used to it.

Good luck!
