How do you make a Strawberry Smoothie??

I was wanting to make some for tonight's dinner and I can't figure out how. Can someone help?

Thanks

There isn't really a set recipe for it. I usually put partially frozen strawberries in my blender with skim milk and yogurt. Add some splenda if it's too tart. Measure your milk and yogurt to make sure it fits in with your daily allowance. Maybe a cup of berries, a cup of skim milk, and a half cup of yogurt to start, then tweak as needed :)

I prefer partially frozen berries, but if you prefer a more liquid smoothie, then use fresh or thawed berries :)

I'm with Suzanne in regard to the semi-frozen strawberries. I use frozen fruit in all my smoothies so I don't have to add ice - I'm not a huge fan of the foam you get from ice. My favorite smoothie lately is cherry. My grocery store has frozen cherries which are totally yummy!

It isn't really a smoothie, but my favorite frozen drink (all year, but especially in the summer) is sort of a strawberry daquiri. I put frozen strawberries in the blender (about 1 - 1.5 cups) and pour in diet Mountain Dew till it covers about 3/4 the way up the strawberries. Then I pulse in the blender until it's a nice thick slushy consistency. If it's too thick, I add a little more Dew and spin it around a few more times. Usually, that's it, but sometimes if the strawberries aren't very sweet, I'll add a tsp of artificial sweetener, but it rarely needs it.

I put a handful of frozen strawberries and bananas, some low fat strawberry yogurt, some skim milk and a little splash of vanilla extract.

Hey I just tried a new one this afternoon.
A handful of frozen strawberries and bananas and chocolate soy milk and that's it. I'm eating it now and it tastes pretty good. Definitely a good fix for a chocolate sweet tooth.

Sounds good Lexi. I have never tried Soy milk, but the chocolate soy milk sounds really good with the strawberries. Almost like chocolate covererd strawberries!!

I usually blend together fresh strawberries, (about half a cup sliced) FF milk, (half a cup) and weight watchers yogurt (strawberry or strawberry banana)

I can't take all the credit. There was a recipe in a Healthy Exchanges cookbook by Joanna Lund. In her recipe, she put frozen strawberries, a packet of sugar free jello gelatin (dry), lemon juice and the mountain dew in the blender. It was really good, but very sweet, almost too sweet. I tried it once with a generic SF strawberry gelatin and thought it was horrible. I usually don't buy the SF jello because it's so much more expensive than store brand, I decided to just try it without the gelatin and since it would be less sweet, without the lemon juice. I like my version better.
