Default sweetner question

I was browsing through the fat smash recipe forum and I see recipes made with sweetners...I thought phase 1 excluded any type of sweetners? true or false?

They should really be more specific in what you can have when it comes to flavourings because when phase 1 recipes call for dijon mustard, etc..I think where the heck did that come from?! and is soya sauce ok on a veggie and brown rice stirfry??

The book does say no sweeteners, but I think the author has said elsewhere that a tiny amount would be ok. Most of us used something like Splenda in our oatmeal and it didn't affect our weight loss. I think the main point is to get away from processed foods and chemicals, and focus on whole, natural foods

I also agree about the condiments. Really, the book was lacking a lot in the way of details and left many of us confused.
