Default Memorial Day

Hello Everyone.. I am on my second day of Phase 1 and its not been bad at all, except for the fact that I want meat...I was bad this morning and weighed myself and have lost 2.5 lbs... I am going to try very hard not to weigh myself everyday... Anyway...Im wondering what everyone else is going to do Memorial day... My boyfriend and I have already been invited to 2 cookouts and we are both on this diet.... any ideas?

Default How about packing your own?

How about bringing your own meals?

Sure, there may be temptation and pressure (well meaning, of course ) to indulge in lots of things not on the program, but most people will be supportive of your will power. After all, the most important part of any celebration is the company, right? Good Luck!!

Most of the recipes are good enough to be dishes to pass.....If you take a rice and bean casserole, like the Spanish Rice Bake just posted, take a lot....it can be your main part of the meal. I am not good at posting links and don't know if we are supposed to, but go to zona.com and find her recipe for bean and rice casserole......it is something like "In a jack in the box" she has this werid thing about baking this casserole in a pumpkin....but I made it today without the pumpkin nonsense, and it is to die for.....be sure to put in the frozen corn, cuz each time you get a kernel, it tastes sweet........I added some hominy corn, too, and that is another distinct flavor.....I plan to take it with me for lunch, cuz it is even good cold........if you pound down a cup or even more, cuz there are so many veggies in it, you will be FULL. Take a cut up fruit salad, and you are on program.......if you have one little "treat".....a hot dog, or whatever....it won't kill your whole program.....what I would have to do is not touch the beer!

I am also concerned about the Memorial day weekend. But I guess I just have to stick to the diet as close as possible considering I will be away from home and won't be able to cook my meals. Its a good thing that I am on Phase 2 because that gives a little bit more room for more options. I can see I will be ordering alot of salads. I also will be going to a cookout too so I will have to be strong and hope there will be some vegetables or salads. I was thinking of taking my workout clothes so I get some walking in. I guess we all just have to make choices that are the best for us. Good Luck Smashers!!!
