Default What is a healthy weight for me?

On my ticker I put 145 pounds. I have seen a few tickers with the same height and weight goals in the low 120's. Is that healthy? I just picked 145 because it sounded like a good number. I am 5'4 and was wondering what is a healthy goal weight for me? I weighed 127 lbs at my first weigh in 6 years ago during my first pregnancy. I would love to be about 130 again but is that healthy? I am confused...

Good question. At 5'4" and 145lbs, you're BMI should be at a healthy number (although it's not always accurate because some people have more muscle mass than others). You can be healthy at 130, but listen to your body. You won't be considered underweight according to the BMI index if you were 130. Just make sure you exercise and lose weight in a healthy way. My goal is 125 and I'm 5'3". I want to be that, because my body was very happy with me at that weight.

Thanks. I was pretty unhealthy right before my pregnancy with my first son. When I met my husband 6 years ago and was introduced to his mom's down home cookin I had started to put weight back on. I weighed about 115 when we first met. By the time I got pregnant and was about 2 months along I weighed about 127. I was pretty happy with that weight. My clothes fit great and that is what I miss. My legs have gotten huge since my weight gain and I miss being able to dress up and wear cute skirts. I have a dress in the front of my closet I haven't been able to fit in for years and everyday I look at it and want to fit into it again so bad. Most of all, I want to be healthy, not just skinny.

Default Burning Calories

I just purchased a Tony Little Gazelle and I really like it so far. It is easy to use and that is what is bothering me. I am not in shape at all, yet I can do 40 min of cardio on this thing and burn about 300 calories or so but it feels to easy. Am I doing it wrong or what?a sweat. How many calories should I burn and how long do I really need to exercise. I just get on there for as long as I can stand it. I think it isn't suppose to be about how many calories you burn but getting a target heart range or something. Can someone please explaine this to me. I feel kinda lost. Also does anyone else have any exercise tips? I could use all the help I can get... Haha!

The Gazelle is great if you're just starting out. But eventually, I think it becomes too easy or something. After you've lost a good amount of weight, it's just not the same. At a lower weight it's too easy and doesn't get your heart rate up nearly as much as it did when you were heavier.

For now it sounds great for you. 300 calories is a good amount to burn. When I did used mine I'd always burn about 270 - 300 before I'd quit.

I am 5'5 one inch taller then you and I am 151 and I look and feel flabby! It all depends on y our frame. Like I have a friend who's 5,2 and once she gains even a pound you can tell! She looks healthy when she wieghs 95 pounds. Plus like other's have been saying it depends on how much muscle and fat you have.
