Default new to fat smash..questions and intro

Hey everyone. I am new to 3FC and wanted to do a quick intro. I am a stay at home mom and student. I have three wonderful children and they have been all to considerate in helping me pack on the pounds over the last few years. Aren't they thoughtful. Three pregnancies later and I have no idea who I am anymore. I have been a faithful watcher of CFC since the first season and I love the show. I have tried a few diets and I think I need something more structured. I would love to try the fat smash diet because it seems that and CFC just started so it will be great motivation. *Love me some Harvey!* I read the review here on 3FC but was concerned about the food lists. I understand that they had trouble figuring out portions and the food list that you need to eat or should eat. I was just a bit confused on that and wanted some clarification before running out to buy the book. I was also wondering if anyone has signed up at www.celebrityfitclub.com and what the reviews were about that? Is it worth the money to sigh up for the tips and eating plans?

I haven't checked out the web site but I wouldn't pay extra. There are so many girls on here who are loosing weight with out the fitclub website. You'll get all the tips you need from the girls on this site here. Good luck with your weight loss!

Good point HoneyBun. Thanks!

Does anyone know about the portion sizes though? I can handle nine days or more w/out meat. It will be the no pasta that is going to be tough. Mu husband is a chef and we make pasta all the time and it will be missed! However, I am guessing it will be well worth the effort.

Make spaghetti squash and mix it with organic, low sodium marinara sauce. I know it sounds lame, but I *love, love love* spaghetti squash. I never eat pasta anymore, and it feels like "pasta" now to me.

Bake the spaghetti squash at 400 or 425 until it's soft when you stick a fork into it (do not peel or cut it before putting in oven). Let it cool (for a few hours or overnight), then cut in half. Remove the pulp/seeds and then remove the squash with a fork... it should come out looking like strands of spaghetti. It's good plain and with the marinara.

Give it a shot. It might satisfy your pasta craving...

Hi Crystal and welcome to 3FC,
I've been doing fat smash since Feb 20th, and thus far have lost 27lbs. I was pretty strict with myself, and for the most part still am. I try to get all of my exercise in at least 5-6 days a week. I wouldn't pay anymore money. There are some great tips here as well as support. As for portion control, I just follow his general guidlines in that I don't put a lot on my plate. That usually satisfies me, and if I do go back for seconds it's usually for veggies. As for the pasta issue, I am now to the point where I can have it, but I do whole wheat, or buckwheat (soba) noodles. Even with that I took a small portion. Once you start seeing the weight come off, you won't want to do things to sabatoge your weight loss. That's just my 2 cents.

Rachel-Thanks for the tip on the Spaghetti squash. I think I did mine in the microwave the one time I attempted it and it didn't come out so well. Maybe I'll try it one day for lunch next week. I'll let you know how it comes out.

The spaghetti squash recipe sounds good...diet or no diet. Thanks for the tips everyone. I am still going to buy the book tonight during a walmart run. I think it will be good just to have the full book. I will probably start in a week or two. I just went grocery shopping so my next trip will be different, full of fat smash foods and not our normal junk foods.

I went over there to check the site out and was thinking.. there is no way I am paying $250 or whatever it is to join a website. Booooo on them because they could really help alot of people if it were free.

I have always wondered the prices of weight loss myself. All these diet people say is they want a fitter, healthier American. All for the low, low price of an arm and a leg. It makes no sense to me. I understand that it doesn't need to be free, but affordable would be nice. I think this website is great. It's free, there is tons of support and tips readily available and every diet out there seems to have it's place. How great is this place? I am new here and I am thinking I will be sticking around for quite a while.

P.S. You have to bake the spaghetti squash about an hour for a medium sized one. It takes a long time to cook those suckers...
