  • Good Morning Everyone!! I thought I would just go head and make a support thread for the week, regardless of what Fat Smash you are doing (Extreme, or the Original). It looks like we have a few more newbies!! So if you have anything don't hesitate to post on this thread!!! We would love to hear from everyone!

I'm on Day 1, of Phase 1 of the First Fat Smash. This is my third attempt, and like I said before, I really hope third time is a charm. I even bought new work out shoes, and my elliptical is aching for someone to hop onto it. LOL Well looking forward to hearing from all of you!! Good luck in your journeys. ---TINKY---
  • This week I'm doing Original FS, then I'll alternate next week Extreme FS. Maybe that'll keep me going.
  • hi all,
it's been a while since I've posted on this thread, but I do check in regularly. I usually post elsewhere though. I am still smashing. So far, so good. I don't have as much of an eating schedule as I should, but I try and eat regularly. and I really keep up on my fruit and veggies. From all that I'm reading, i don't think I'll be going to the extreme. 800 calories is just too low for me, plus the original seems to be working. As of this morning I was at 178.4. That's 25 pounds, but I won't be changing my ticker until Friday.
I also checked out the whole foods thread for more food help. Another good read is the sonoma diet cookbook. I'm not doing the diet, but it has some Smash friendly recipes. For those of you that are bored, check out the recipes at the top of the Fat Smash board. I've made several and they are really good. It helps with the variety.
Sorry for the rambling. Gotta get this done before the kids start moving around again.
    Happy smashing everyone.
  • Hi everyone:

Just thought I would check in here. Today is day one of FS for the 2nd week. Last week was tough, but I am going to try the detox for another 5-7 days and then try eating from the first FS and alternate between the two. I lost 5 pounds in five days but gained it all back. I am hoping to do better this time.

    Everyone have a great day!
  • Phase 1 was successful today, so far. I just got to get in a good cardio workout before the day ends.
  • Good morning all

I am on my fifth day of FS. Yesterday was kinda of hard (fighting the binge monster ) but I didn't give in, just ate fruit and tried not to worry about the calories. Sometimes I worry that I'm actually eating too much on this plan, as I often turn to fruit, which is not minimal calories, but I have to stop that thinking. I'm really doing this plan as a way to tame my binge-purge cycles. So far, so good. Here's wishing good luck to us all for a good week
  • Well I made it though day 1 of detox. It was hard. Has anyone else had this issue: I have bread and chips and meat and stuff around the house all the time and never really want any of it. The occational piece of toast maybe once or twice a month, I don't really care for chips and I don't eat alot of meat but yesterday it seemed like every forbidden food looked heavenly to me. I stuck it out . I just don't understand it,craving stuff I don't normally want or eat very much of just because I can't eat it right now? I don't eat it anyway so why the craving? I didn't do my cardio tape because I had an appt with my foot doc and he gave me shots in my foot and made me put the orthotic boot back on but my foot is less sore today so I am going to try and do my tape today (I am allowed to take the boot off for a little each day, progressively getting longer each day for this week and next and then I get to try walking without it for a week before I go back to the doc.) and I can go back to the gym on Monday which I am so looking forward to! I didn't really have time to make b-fast this morning so I just made a smoothie with strawberry and banana, 8 oz of milk, and 3 oz plain yogurt. Oh and I woke up with my stomach growling at about 11:30pm. I mean I felt like I was starving! So I am very proud of myself cause I just went to the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water and chugged it and went back to bed! I got in 80 oz of water yesterday. I usually drink 2 liters of Mt Dew a day and no water so that is great for me. No soda, 12 oz skim milk, 80 oz water and 2 cups of caffine free herbal tea! Well anyway I hope everyone is doing well and OP. Time to fold laundry.
  • Hello everyone,
I'm new to this. I've never posted on any kind of message board before. But I bought the Extreme Fat Smash book today and I'm starting it in the morning. I read the 3 fat chicks book and they talk alot about their forumns in the book and how it can help people stay on track. And I need all the help I can get!! I've tried LOTS of diets, but seem to lose interest in them by the 3rd or 4th week. I mean I have two huge boxes of Nutrisystem food still in my basement because I got bored with it. I'll have minimal success, about 10-15 lbs. or so, and then splurge on Taco Bell or something and there goes the whole kit and kaboodle. So I'm hoping this time works. I did work out today so that's something. Wish me luck or willpower over the fast food anyway.
    Jen
  • Hi Jen, welcome! I am on week 1, day 4 of Extreme. It's not been as bad as I thought it would be. I am definitely eating a lot of stuff that is new to me! Good luck!
  • Good morning everyone!

Hope you're all doing well. Day 6 of FS for me and I feel good today
It's funny how some days you wake up and just know its going to be a struggle all day (and maybe a losing one), and other days it all kind of clicks and its easy and good I wish there were some way to bottle the good mornings!
    Good luck today all
  • Good Morning everyone! Well I messed up yesterday, but I knew I was because my brother from Cali is came up. He made a special request to have my famous spaghetti, what is a loving sister to do? Cook it and eat it of course! LOL So here I am back on Day 1. I had my oatmeal and now having tons of water. I feel like ughh, my friendly visitor is coming. So I feel bloated too. Yikes! I will need extra will power to stay on!!!!

Well I hope everyone has a great day!! Keep on Smashing!

Here is my menu for today

Breakfast- Oatmeal and splenda, and a banana
    S1- Yogurt and berries
    Lunch- Bean Soup
s2- Carrots and fat free ranch
Dinner- Great big salad with lemon juice and a bit of salt & pepper
    s3- apple
  • Mmmmm, spaghetti.....last night I tried mixing pearl barley with spaghetti sauce....it's just not the same! Today is my first misstep - I am skipping the cardio because I just couldn't wake up early and am going to a baseball game (go Braves!) after work. I am still sticking to the meal plans, though. Hope all is well with everyone!
  • Wecome Jen, I wish you much success in your new journey to a healthier life. You know I dont' think it's so much about he meal plan as it is about he mindset. I've lost weight a million and one time, but this time my mindset is diffent. Think like your're thin. have you ever watched a thin person...or at least a healthy thin person eat. It's just different. I am loving the Fat Smash plan becasue I really did smash my bad habits. I know that they are not all gone, but I at least know how to eat better and I am more consciouse about the food decisions I make. I make an effort to eat more fruits and veggies throughout the day. I am also trying to remind myself that loss does not equal permission. Meaning that just cuz I am loosing, I can eat whatever I want. usually that's what happens with me. I start loosing and think I can eat like I want...not so.

Sorry for the rant, maybe I've said something today that will insprie someone else.
    Happy smashing
  • Hi Everyone!
Well, I've been trying to stick to FS Extreme, I do really well at work but when I get home, it downhill!! My sister is visiting from the East Coast and of course, she wants to eat out and experience all of California's great food, and what kind of host would I be if I didn't do that for her!!
My husband is leaving for France for a week on Saturday and my sister is leaving on Monday. I hope to get back on track.
I still manage to get my workouts in I've been doing a 30 minute abs class (the longest 30 minutes I've experienced) and spinning. I've taken off more days than usual but that's because I'd rather spend the time with my sister and not at the gym!
Keep up the good work everyone!!
  • scared to start phase II
    Morning all

I am nearing the end of Phase I (this is day 7) and I am beginning to get nervous about going into phase II which adds in cereal and some other things that have been a problem for me in the past. I'm a vegetarian, so I won't add the meat selections, so if I don't add the other new things, I'm basically still doing phase I, which is unrealistic I think to do forever.
Anyone else have trouble at the thought of "moving up" in phases?
    Thanks,
    VeggieGirl1
